- Well i dont like it...cus most the bands did not play metal....bands like korn..and others...i didnt like it when they frist came out ..but also at that time i was real big into hardcore punk bands...the music was never fast anufd for me...thats why i did listen to thrash bands...and got to other styles of metal....i think why there is alot of hate is because had piss ant kids who never heard of bands like venom...that created the black metal and thrash metal sound....then come out and say nu metal bands where better then the older bands...when most of the bands where into older metal bands....i always say if it wasnt for metallica gone mainstream ..bands like korn would have never made it...also there style come from metal and rap groups doing songs togather..in the late 80 early 90...i have found some nu metal bands that our more fused metal bands that are ok..but still i like the speed metal style the best...

- Technically yes, glam metal is a part of heavy metal. But I consider it poser metal. In the words of Dave Mustaine, Glam = Gay Los Angeles Metal. Please excuse the homophobia. Most of the real metal bands of the day weren't these huge, arena bands like Motley Crue and Poison that dominated the attention of MTV. Most of the real metal bands were playing in dinky little clubs. Bands like Exodus, Dark Angel, Possessed, Cryptic Slaughter, M.O.D., and others like them.

But, there are many crappy new metal bands around so I am not saying new metal as a whole is better....I am saying I enjoy the bands I listen to...most of which aren't wicked well-known or mainstream and that are very talented and actually produce great metal music unlike what some ppl call newer metal (such as Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Slipknot, etc...which is crap compared to the bands I listen to) I hope you see where I am coming from.....I just prefer metal bands from the 90's on..... :)

Can you please explain me what defines a song to be quot;Speed Metalquot;..or is every Metal song automatically rated as Speed Metal when played at high tempo?At first I thought it was just Heavy Metal with high tempo in guitars and drums.But than I came across to some songs that I thought were Speed Metal but they are rated as Thrash Metal at high speed.Also I noticed two styles of supposed Speed Metals bands.1) Motorhead: Sounds like Punk-Rock mixed with Heavy Metal and the lead singer's voice sounds masculine.2) Judas Priest: Their music is alright but the lead singer's voice makes it feel like listening to Glam Metal with Heavy Metal riffs at high tempo.Can you please provide me with Speed Metal that has a more masculine voice in it. I'm not really into screams that sound like chipmunk.
