Q: When I plug and unplug a power cable to the net in my home for let's say, 50.000 times a day, why doesn't my electricity-meter not count that power for the monthly electricity fee? When I unplug the cable the cable should still have some electricity flowing through it at the moment of unplugging. That electricity disappears very shortly after . But after unplugging it, it doesn't have any electricity anymore. So some electricity is lost right? How does this work?
by electricity I assume you mean electrical energy. power is the rate at which electrical energy is consumed. Power is generated by the flow of electrical current across a potential difference. Let's use an analogy. A cable is like a water pipe. Current is like the flow of water in the pipe. Pressure is like potential difference (voltage). When there is a difference in pressure at the two ends of the pipe, water will flow through the pipe. The flow of water carries energy, because it can be used to spin a paddle wheel (motor), and the friction of the water against the pipe (electrical resistance) generates heat. I think your question is something to the effect of, if I suddenly remove the pressure difference across the pipe, won't there still be energy in the water flowing in the pipe, and isn't that energy wasted? Well, there's a difference between water and electrical current: the electron hardly weighs anything. There's very, very little energy stored in the motion of electrons in a wire. When the wire is disconnected, the electrons come to a stop almost immediately, and the amount of energy wasted is infinitesimal. I hope that sort of answers your question.
Q: This is a very small system, just a tape deck, cd player, mp3 input, and a phono pre. This is then run from the L and R outputs from the mixer into a 2 channel EQ, then to a power amp (2x250 @ 2ohm), and from there to 2 vintage kustom speakers.Should I be using TRs or TS cables for all of these connections?FYI the speakers are about 25ft from the power amp on the opposite side of the room
TRS cables are used for two channels, either to patch stereo signals from one component to another, or for send and return in an effects loop. TS cables are used for single-channel patching, and would typically be used between a mixer and a power amplifier. Speaker cables are different from signal cables, even though they often use the same plugs. Speaker cables should be made of 18AWG or larger 2-conductor wire, whereas signal cables shoud be made of shielded (screened) wire. Be certain to use the correct type of cable for the type of signal being conveyed. You may want to get some local help for this. Someone near you should be able to assist.
Q: It's provided to me by my ISP which is Cox. If I were to unplug the power cord what would happen, would my phone no longer work without another technicians appointment. I know that the motorola cable modem with no phone service you can power cycle that one.
Turn off the modem. Wait 5-10 seconds. Turn the modem back on. If there isn't an on/off switch on the modem: unplug the modem, wait 5-10 seconds, plug the modem back in.
Q: I just bought a new motherboard and it had a 24 pin power thingy, my power supply was only a 20 pin. After looking at my manual it said I was able to do that if I aligned them a specific way. After that PC turns on, the lights turn on, hard drives turn on, and everything else. the thing is the screen stays black and says no signal.I was looking on the motherboard and there is a 4 pin ATX12V1, but there is no such cable that comes out of my power supply. I think the reason the screen stays blank is because it said that was used to power the CPU. What can I do since I do not have a ATX12V1 cable that connects to my motherboard? The only cables that come out of my pwr supply are for the IDE and floppy.
Buy okorder for little to nothing depending on what you are looking for. Gaming and lighted ones are going to cost a little more but you should be able to pick one up cheap!!! Hopefully you bought the correct motherboard! But you are definitely going to have to have the correct power supply to feed the proper amount of power to your CPU! ;-)
Q: I'm about to order everything to put a new sound system in my Jeep Wrangler and I've been planning the locations to run new wires and cables. I got to looking at the area's where I could run the power cable for the amp and have come to 2 conclusions. I could either drill a hole in a very difficult to reach but hidden area behind the dash and try to hide the cable on the interior of the Jeep all the way to the rear where the amp is.. or, I could run the cable inside the hollow frame rails (which have many pre-drilled holes to slip the cable in and out of) under the Jeep and then just drill a hole to the interior in an easy to reach location near the amp. My only concern is that the cable's insulation will breakdown and crack prematurely due to exposure to water and road salts.. is this a real risk if I run the cable on the exterior of the vehicle? Or will the cable hold up just as well as any other cable such as those in the engine compartment? Thanks for your help!
I have installed a system for a friend in high school, and he INSISTED i run it under the car. We ran the cable up through a rubber drain plug/grommet in the trunk area. Just check the wiring yearly to make sure its still in good condition. Wire takes a LOT of heat and other elements of the weather under the hood, a good quality wire should last for a good amount of time running outside the vehicle.
Q: my friend has a ps2 and i don't know which one hes got either the fat or the slim and i think the power cables for the fat and the slim are differnt so does the ps3 slim power cable work on any of them?
Ps3 Cords
Q: Ok, i know it is definitely a NO-NO to run my power cable through walls, but, what if I run the power cord through only to pull it out behind my entertainment center from the wall-plate my other cables come out, and plug in a surge protector?
Try running a plastic conduit on the face of the wall and paint it the color of the wall instead.
Q: I want to switch to cable phone (indeed, that Triple play service offered by companies as Optimum or Time Warner). When power fails, you dont?expect to have Cable TV or internet, but phone service is different. You really need it all the time. Some people told me outages affect cable phone service. I?m very concerned because some neighborhoods in my city have had blackouts recently.

Q: Cable bttz-4 * (1 * 50) and bttz-4 * 50 What is the difference
What is your video card? First must be a separate graphics card. If it is the result of the accumulation of porcelain porcelain puzzle, you give up it. Use the DVI interface to connect the computer monitor, connect the LCD TV with HDMI, in the graphics driver settings to nVIDIA graphics card, for example, install the driver, enter the display attribute drive settings interface, click the expansion window "nView", in the "nView Mode ", you can set to" copy "," horizontal span "or" vertical span "as needed. "Copy" means that the contents of the two displays are exactly the same. "Horizontal cross" means that the display of two monitors is connected in the horizontal direction, for example, we want to work in the main display, but also want to watch movies in the auxiliary display, which is a more applicable function.
Q: we have one control cable 120 VAC contains 7 conductors and another power cable of 480 VAC each contains 7conductors. can be installed in one conduit
Goober is correct. Not a good design.
