- Yes, you can use regular XLR cables for microphones that require phantom power. The only reason why some microphones require phantom power is because they require extra voltage flowing through the XLR cable. Condenser mics are the most commonly used mics that require phantom power, mainly because of the way the diaphram picks up sound (condenser mics pic up sound in a narrower area around the mic, yet can pick up distant sounds somewhat better). It earned the name phantom because it is invisible to other balanced (non-condensing, etc.) mics that don't need the extra power. A tech section would make it easier on most of us, because most of the important questions get lost in the typical whuz you're fav song or need lyrics plz questions that flood the section.

- Q: I installed a new Power supply after my old one stopped working. I bought a Thermaltake TR2 500W. I connected everything that needed to be connected but it would not turn on. Then i disconnected the 4pin cable that goes to the motherboard, and it turned on. But my monitor didn't detect anything so it just went into quot;sleep modequot;. - Its called the M.E.N. system. It stands for Multiple Earth Neutral. - I know you said that you checked your fuses, but there are fuses on the amp itself. You may want to check those too. Don't know if you did that already, but something to keep in mind. Does it go to the red light? safety mode? In that case, it may be fried and you may need to find a local stereo shop that can fix it.

- that is exactly what you need that you linked. nobody i know has the opposite because your psu is female and your drives are male. there for you need a male to 2 female splitter which that is. the only reason why you would have to go reverse is if something is extremely power hungry.

- Pulling on the cable will cause the jack to become deformed, and cause poor connections. You will have to replace the jack. On some laptops, it is an internal plug in module that is easy to replace, on others it is soldered to the motherboard, a much more expensive repair....
