Q:How to clean the carpet wax?
Wet a white towel and fold it over the wax. Set the iron to "hot" and press it on the towel for 10 seconds. Heat absorbs wax from the carpet onto the towel. Repeat until the wax disappears (where iron can be placed for more than 30 seconds). If the towel is dry, then wet it, and if you take a lot of wax, then change it quickly.
Q:If you have an apartment with Pergo or hardwood floors in an older building that doesn't have a lot of insulation will rugs, curtains and the like help with reducing noise transmission to other units?
I imagine the carpets would help reduce echo, so would lots of things in the room. Heat would help as well. You can't really reduce the sound and could probably only make a small effect after the carpet and curtain way
Q:So I have this cheap $20 rug from walmart thats teal. I did away with it for a while but now that I want my room redone, I want a black rug to go in front of a futon. How would I go about dyeing this rug instead of buying a new one and leaving this one to collect dust? It has a plastic wired bottom to hold the rug together and to act slip resistant. Would dyeing it affect it?
Whether dyeing would work depends on what fibre it's made of. If it's wool or cotton, it would dye quite well with ordinary dyes, though it might present a few difficulties since dyes usually call for being heated, and a lot of rinsing after. If it's a synthetic fibre, which it very likely is, it might not dye at all because synthetics don't absorb dye very well, if at all. If they do, they usually require processes that would be very difficult to achieve with a rug, such as heating the dye bath with the item in it. All in all, it's probably not worth even trying. Find a cheap black rug to buy.
Q:hi there, i just purchased a yoga dvd (to do at home), and i was wondering if it can be done on carpet (as my whole house is carpeted!) will it be bad to do it on carpet? if it is
yes you can
Q:does anybody know if there is an easier way to crochet a rag rug without sewing the quot;ragquot; together?
If okorder / Good luck.
Q:would oxy clean on capret remove a stain?im afriad it will change the color of the carpet or something bad like that
its better then bleach cause it will turn yellow
Q:I need to know a safe and easy way to get some stains (juice) from my carpeting
Before okorder ., to locate a pro near you. They have a product that works on food grade dye, called Red Relief, it is used with a damp white terry cloth towel and a steam iron. When the color of the dye stain disappears, the solution is rinsed/extracted from the carpet. If there is no dye in the juice, another product available to the pro is called Stain Magic, using the same process, followed by extraction. The pro has all the proper solutions, equipment, and know how to do this job successfully without harming the carpet. What ever you do, do not use any type of laundry detergent or bleach on any carpet stain. They will remove or harm the original carpet dye permanently. Nothing in life is easy, call a pro to handle difficult tasks on expensive items, such as carpeting.
Q:I have a cleaning company and am about to start doing carpet cleaning, Im trying to find a inexpensive solution.. that works well..Vinegar or Ammonia?
Ammonia will destroy carpet. Vinegar will do nothing to clean it. This is not about the best cheap cleaning product, it is about professional equipment. If you can't drop $1500 on an entry level dual motor extractor, you have no business doing carpet, because you aren't really cleaning it.
Q:I have carpet in the backyard and my dogs have urinated on it badly an i was wondering if i put very little bleach in a spray bottle and sprayed it on the carpet would it change the color of the carpet?
depends on what the carpet is made of. most matrials will be discolored by bleach. about the only exception I can think of off hand is olefin. it is usually used in outdoor carpets, because it is essentially plastic and nothing damages it. If your dogs urinating on the carpet hasn't discolored the carpet , bleach probably won't either
Q:I just replaced my old area rug. The old one was great , I could steam clean it , take it outside and rinse it off and let it air dry. No problems for 4 years, it just got worn out. I replaced it with the same rug from the same store, but the carpet came loose from the backing were I had spot cleaned it. When I vacuumed it pulled out 6 foot of string. I took it back and they replaced it. This new rug, seems a little better, but the backing seems cheap. Is there a way I can re-enforce the backing so the carpet does not come loose from it when I clean it? Would applying carpet seaming adhesive to the entire rug work?
In most cases it's not going to be cost effective to repair a hand tufted rug. However there are instances where if you have latex glue, you could be able to reinforce the back with a paint roller. Between the trips back and forth to the local hardware store and the supplies needed, it may be advisable to consider the purchase of a new rug. Best of luck!
