Q: we live in a rented apartment, we have carpet installed but we would prefer hard wood so much better. is there a way, inexpensive much preferred, to have hard wood over the carpet without damaging the carpet? hope to hear some interesting suggestions, thanks!!: The tile floor would be ruined, and the value of the house lessened, but it can be done. A better idea, if the tile is nice is to buy large area rugs which have no slip padding on the back. It will be easier to keep the room clean also, around the walls, etc. Wall to wall carpeting really picks up a lot of awful stuff, look how much dirt you sweep up each day? A tile floor is healthier than wall to wall. Get some better shoes for indoors, although I have marble and tile and love the feel on my feet, which no longer hurt as they used to.? Q: Today I placed my laptop on the living room rug for a little while, and when I picked it back up I could feel little tiny bumps on the base of it. So I turned my laptop upside down and I could see about 30 or so super tiny bugs that were crawling around. They are so small that it's hard to say what color they are. But they are smaller than a grain of sugar! I do have two dogs, so I dont know if they came from the dogs, but I have never seen these things before. Q: My couch is black leather. I have a glass top coffe table with black legs. My tv is black, and the TV stand is black w/ a very dark wood. Also some other dark wooden misc peices that match. I want to paint the walls a fire engine red to make the room pop, but I also need a rug. I've been searching every store everywhere, but NOTHING seems to match. We tried several animal prints, but it ended up look tacky. Q: I live in the UK where the weather totally changes from one day to the next. One day it's freezing, the next it's hot. So I never know which rug to put on my horse. If I put a lightweight on and the weather turns cold he'll be cold. But if I put his mediumweight on and the sun comes out he'll be hot. Which is better?: I have just heard the weather forecast and it is going to be cold for the next few days. The sun does not come out long enough to make a difference, so I think you need to be keeping him in the medium weight. I prefer horses to be a bit warm than cold, as this is more miserable and the horse will need to use so much more energy to keep himself warm - shivering etc, and he could lose weight.

Q: Also, would jute be good as i imagine lots of spills. Any ideas? And, doI really need a rug pad? Thanks!: Design rule is that your rug should be 24 behind the chair with someone seated. Mine is much less, maybe 12-18 and works fine. Jute will work but it's a bit hard to clean. On the plus side, it doesn't show spills too much. If you have cats, they might think that you bought it for their scratching needs. Invest in a good rug pad if you want to extend the life of your rug, or the rug is thin or stiff enough to slip.
