Q:What does carpet mean?
wooly things.
Q:What kind of area rugs are best to buy?
There are diferent styles, shapes and materials of area rugs which we can buy in market. According to your need and situation, you have to select your kind of area rug. You can decorate with area rugs. Area rugs are made differently. Some are hand knotted, some are flat woven, hooked and some are machine made. So there are as many kinds of area rugs to buy. You can find more information on it by clicking the link below.
Q:I'm considering renting a house. So I can't make any permanent changes. The house has carpet in the living room but not the bedrooms. I would like to install some carpet in the bedrooms, but someone told me I would have to glue it down. Is there a way to install carpet without having any effect on the real wood floors beneath?
You can loose lay a carpet over the wood but w/o a special mat under the carpet it will still ruin the wood. In your case your best off to invest in some area rugs and still use this mat that allows the wood to breathe and keeps the rug from bunching and slipping. When you move your area rug goes with you. Loose lay carpet , you can have the edges bound to keep it from fraying.but this special mat is still needed to keep the rough action back from scratching the wood and to not stain it. Never use a double sided tape to hold carpet or rugs in place, it leaves a residue that is hard to remove and may stain the wood too. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:I am just wondering in the 30's 40'5 and 50's how they cleaned carpets in there house. I know at some point the vacuum cleaner was invented but for actual carpet cleaning (with a carpet cleaner) how did they clean the carpet. I am not talking about spot cleaning either but all over carpet cleanings. Thankss
They used brush as a carpet cleaner. I saw it once in the movie I forgot the tittle it was an epic movie. It is like a dog brush but the strands are different than the normal brush.
Q:What is the specific practice of the new laying carpet?
Use special steel nails to nail mound layer and carpet into the concrete floor. 1 Unfixed laying carpet, coat adhesive along four sides. The ground is tiled the carpet. This laying has the following three ways, planishing is ok, laid to the required position, select the upper floating 5-10mm thick carpet, amount of glue is 0.05 kg per square meter. Put 20mm * 30MM or 10mm * 25MM wood mound layer around carpet: Put a 100mm wide strip of linen in carpet seams, amount of glue is 0.8 kilograms per square meter. If you want to double the carpet. The three fixed carpet method, or spread to the wall. If the carpet needs to be connected. The hook fixation method; it can cover the whole room, away from the wall around 20mm, coat with adhesive, you can also do local pave, then align at, lay 5mm thick rubber foam carpet liner; also can use adhesive to coat into some 1 meters square box in the ground, then lay carpet on it. The width of hook is about 25mm or so. 2 fixed laying: The paste method, put the carpet hanging on the hook, before laying the carpet, it needs to splice seams neatly, the width of gumming is 100-150mm. This method is to use steel nails to install batten with hook in the room surrounded by the ground . The layering fixing method. The method of the seam between the carpet and the carpet is that the laying of the carpet mainly has two kinds of fixed and non fixed. Paste the carpet and a leveling layer, this is more suitable for room decoration which not often change room
Q:How are residential and commercial carpets differ from each other?
As well as being made of a lesser fiber blend the carpet is often treated with fire retardant and pesticides before installation, dyes are also different, matching a commercial carpet color to a residential retailer will mean a compromise.
Q:For now, I have carpet just lay on top of the the old low carpet that the mobile home came with. it is sort of quick fix so cleaning is easier and the walking feel better. Is it okay to do that? The old low carpet underneath is ugly and have dirty feel to it, but I don't know if I should pull it up and replace the floor with vinyl flooring? My kitchen came with the vinyl flooring so I figure it is okay to pull the old carpet up and install it? Also, I don;t know if I should really pull the old carpet up or not, since I have no experiment in this. please answer, thanks in advance
I would definitely remove the old carpet just because of the fact you said it feels dirty...carpet can collect all kinds of allergens and even make some people sick. Especially if there were pets in the house previously. For your health, remove the old carpet. As others suggested, there are options for you to lay the carpet w/ glue/tack strips. Also, Home Depot sometimes offers free carpet installation...you can see if you qualify.
Q:We're looking to buy new carpet for a home. We want to buy nice, durable, long-lasting carpet, but, like everyone, we have a budget and are middle class.Any tips, pitfalls to avoid, good brands, avoid these brands, etc...?
we are happy with Berber.
Q:How can I convince my parents to get carpet installed in my room? Our whole house is wood flooring. But the floor gets too cold for me. they dont want it because our dogs sometimes, quot;don't go outsidequot; and it ruins the carpet. But lately they haven't done it in my room. They also dont want it because it costs hundreds. Any ways I can earn money for it? Thanks!
you could tell them the advantages of having a carpet in your room, and you told us that you'll be the one to gather money for it so your parents might agree with that. you can always lock your room so that the dogs cannot enter or whatever, just make sure you have the key. hope you can have your carpet.
Q:Always been as natural as possible with my horses inc rugging, deciding if it's time to rug my old guy (I say old but he's 18 which isn't that old I know!). He's a warmblood, 18yrs used now as a pleasure/trail horse. Things to consider:I live in Queensland, Australia - the lowest the temperatures been since we've lived here is around 1-2 degrees celsius (that's 33-35 Fahrenheit) but it is quite windy (it doesn't snow here - I wish!)This horse spent most of his life in Victoria where the temperature got much lower much windier but he was with a large herd to snuggle up too.We have a run in shelter with just a roof minimal trees. He's a good doer keeping his condition (if anything slightly chubby!).Thanks for your contributions :)
Once it starts getting colder out, watch him for signs of being cold, such as shivering. If giving him a little more grain doesn't help, I would rug him. It's all up to how he is on his own. I would at least put a light blanket on when it's windy, if he has grown a winter coat. If his coat isn't as thick as it should be, I would rug him with a heavier rug. If you're concerned about a rug being too warm, go out to the paddock every few hours and stick your hand under the blanket. If he's sweating, it's too heavy. If he's toasty and not sweaty, he's good.
