Q:I was thinking of getting my new apartment re-carpeted. I bet I can get the landlord to pay half, but out of curiosity...can anyone give me an estimate of re-carpeting a small studio apartment with some flat (not fluffy) basic carpeting?
should only be a couple hundred dollars, you can always lower the price if you tear out the old carpet first
Q:I am trying to be as 'green' as possible while decorating my house. In addition, I love the look of textured, natural stuff. I looked at the sisal and bamboo rugs, but with small children on the floor all the time - they just are too rough. Is there anything else out there?
I'm sure there are many other places with other sizes and colors as well.
Q:what's the difference between an emerlen rug and a wool rug?
A wool rug is obviously made from wool or a wool. These rugs can either be hand knotted (best quality) or machine tufted. Persian rugs are wool for example. Emerlen is a 100% synthetic Polypropylene. The rugs are air-twisted (woven) and heat set. It's basically a FAKE wool rug.
Q:I'm thinking about buying a 9'2 x 12' 11 rug, but there are no rug pads with these dimensions. The closest pad size would be 8 x 10. Is it okay that the rug pad doesn't fit exactly with the rug or do I need to get a custom rug pad?

Q:I know, chocolate brown, gag me with a spoon, right!? Anyhow, I need a cheap rug for my cheap apartment.I will also have a pistachio green bathroom, what will cordinate with that!?Links please! Thanks a bunch for your help!
Robin's egg blue looks great with chocolate brown and pistachio green... Sisal will also go well with chocolate brown. Good luck!
Q:For the record, I didn't want this rug...I told my husband anything that says quot;do not add waterquot; was a bad idea with young kids in the house....but here we are....So I know you're not supposed to use water on sisal (natural fiber/grass) rugs, but merely quot;blottingquot; as per the directions does not leave me with a clean, sanatized feeling. I generally use water and hydrogen peroxide to clean my carpets (I avoid chemical cleaners whenever I can), but how can I at least freshen up the area until enough time has passed that I'm not screaming quot;don't sit/crawl there!quot; Is baking soda an option?
My only suggestion - make your husband responsible for this problem immediately, and walk away. You did not want the rug for just this reason, and any move for you to take responsibility means you buy into the idea that this was an appropriate purchase. Stick to your guns, call him or text him and let him know his fabulous rug has experienced just the thing you knew would happen, and just drop it in his lap. The minute he brought it into the house, he took responsibility for whatever happened next- so don't do it for him. At all. This isn't just about the rug, of course- it's about power and who makes the decisions. If he wants to make them, it's up to him to do whatever it takes to follow through. Not your job, and it wasn't a joint decision made with your input. Call him, let him know he has a problem, and walk away. Not one paper towel- I'm not kidding. Or you will own the #$% rug and the blame for the spot your cleaning efforts make.
Q:I'm getting new carpet put down in my room soon, but I'm very clumsy and I can't keep it clean. Is there some kind of carpet protector (much like a screen protector for a phone) that I can put over my new carpet?
Don't take food or drink into your room keep all make up nail polish in the bathroom it should be OK.You could try putting a thick sheet of plastic over where you walk etc but really, you need to learn better habits is my advice.
Q:I have a mini and was wondering if during winter he'd be warm enough with these two rugs:a 270g polyester ripstop combo sheet rugand then a cotton combo rug underneath the sheetAny help would be appreciated,Thanks
How do you cause problems by blanketing your horse? I don't think you do. My horse always has something on in the winter, and always has a sheet on until summer.
Q:are there any really big rugs that wont break the bank but wont fall apart quick?
I've had good luck with rugs at Ikea. The one that we have in our living room has been with us for about 7 years now, and it's not wearing at all. And that's saying a lot because there are five people, four cats, and a large dog in our household. My mother-in-law got a nice, good-sized area rug recently at Home Depot. They get in a different assortment at each store, and you can frequently find them for well under $100. I hope that helps. Good luck!
Q:Well we kind of had a little mis hap and we accidently got a burning piece of paper on the ground. The paper was burning and went onto the carpet and we cleaned all the ash up and now there is a dirty ashy looking stain on the carpet. How do you get rid of it? I don't mean by buying another carpet, is there anything that could get it out of the carpet? Thank you.
clean the spot well and let it dry. Then go to the edges of the carpeting and snip some fibers. put glue on the spot and place those fibers. Small amounts at a time let dry for an hour then add more. Should camouflage it well
