- Q: The power cord will not be inside the wall, it will be through a sheet of drywall then in a closet that is under my stairs, at no time will the power cord be inside of a wall. It will just be behind the wall and in a closet where I will plug it into a surge protector. good to go??
- I think some clarification is needed here. A contractor could NOT do this for you, because it is against NEC code (although some do anyway). You as a home owner, working on your own home, are not bound by these laws (in most areas - I here Chicago is tough). So the question becomes: Is this safe. With what you described, I see no danger in doing what you want to do. The issue of insurance is a point. If you use some cheap surge protector that happens to burst into flames and starts a fire. And an inspector for the insurance company comes out and sees the power cord, they could try to deny your claim based on that. Even though 'that' was not responsible for the fire. Your call.
- Q: I have digital cable through Cox. The receiver is plugged in, and the electricity is fine, but it won't turn on! Please help! I don't want to pay for repairs!
- If your not getting any power to the box no little green lite or humming noise coming from the box then its dead. your just going to need to get the box replaced you should be able to just bring your box in and trade it out to avoid a service call charge.
- Q: Hi all, I'm moving into a new apartment August 1, and I'm wondering how far in advance I need to call the power company, cable company, etc to set up service. I know this is probably a dumb question, but throughout college I moved into apartments where at least one of the other roommates was staying (I took over someone's lease who was moving out, but the other girls stayed so I was the only new resident). But I'm moving into a one bedroom, and I've never had to set these things up before so I just thought I'd ask what the standard time frame is. Is a month enough advance notice--should I start setting this stuff up in early July? Or sooner? Again, I know this is probably dumb but I have no experience so I wanted to ask some people who've been there and done that what the procedure is. Thanks in advance!
- You okorder to compare electricity and cable or satellite rates. The cheaper the rate the less you pay :) I have personally never had to pay a deposit even when I was in college. They check your credit for outstanding balances on utility bills and base your deposit if any on that.
- Q: cable or do they need certain ones, I ask because this PSU: has no power cable with it so will i have to get a certain power cable for that wattage or are they all the same???please answer, 10 points for first answer
- all psu's ( even the ebuyer one) will use the same 3 pin cable.....just like the one most monitors use :) ...but uf u dont have any of these 3 pin power cables ur gnna have to buy one here is an image of one
- Q: will leaving the power cable in for my laptop hurt the battery?
- Newer batteries cannot be overcharged but it is not advisable to leave the power cable plugged in when the battery is at a full charge. It will not hurt the battery but overtime your battery will not sustain a charge for as long as it should. My best advice would be to fully charge and let your battery drain to near completion and then recharge. Give your battery the exercise it was meant to have.
- Q: A friend gave me this monitor, but didn't know where the power cord was. I made the mistake of thinking to myself quot;Oh well, it's just the standard plug, I'll just use one at home. But it is this weird 4-5 Pronged slot I haven't seen before. The manufacturer is HP, but I couldn't find any accessories on their site. Can anyone tell me what kind of plug would fit this, or where to get one? I have included a picture, sorry for the poor quality, but it is from my phone.

- Q: power supply, however it comes with some cables that can be attached to the peripheral 4 point cable then ran into the card itself. can this setup work? Or will I need a new power supply with 2 6 point pci express power cables? Oh by the way its a 600 watt power supply I currently have.
- The addapter to the 4pin molex will work just fine. If your pickie about your computer like I am, then you can purchase a new power supply, but there really isnt any need.
- Q: I need help asap before I lose my patience with my dog.
- Try Radio Shack or if it has a 3 prong socket any computer power cable will work.
- Q: hello guys, how does a power boost cable works?what is the difference between a usb cable and power boost cable.
- It is simply a 2nd USB for power alone, it does not use both USBs to transfer files, just one, the 2nd is just for additional power to improve the performance of the hard disk
- Q: I am using a Peavey Windsor half-stack that I've had for a little over a year now. It's 300 watts, 120 VAC (whatever that means), and 60 Hz. I lost the power-cable so I bought a new one, but I wanted to make sure there's no risk in using it. I'm pretty sure it's safe but I'd hate to overpower it if that's possible.
- It means that it has 300 watts of power . Thats a lot of power. 120VAC means that you connect it to a regular wall plug. If you can connect it to the amp and the wall socket , you got yourself an amp.
