- Q: wire diagram and manual
- a small boats wiring cant be very complicated. If you're needing to replace it get a book called Small Boat Wiring or a similar. If you're trying to find a fault with existing wiring simply trace the existing wires remake all the connections as you go. I suggest you pull the lot out redo it properly. Except for the electric start you dont need super heavy cabling for a small boat. Tinned multi strand wire with a core diameter of about 2 mm is fine. Get a roll of red one of black ( or use red/black figure 8 cable) From the battery fit a service fuse of about 15 - 20 amp in line with the positive cable right near the battery. Use only properly crimped screwed or soldered connections. If the connection is ever likely to get wet then cover the connection with a piece of heatshrink tubing with a good smear of neutral cure silicone inside it. The silicone should squeeze out both ends of the tube when you shrink it. Dont make any joints mid run ( never in the bilges). Make sure the wiring is secured where it is out of the way is neat. Support the wire near the connections. Run from the switch panel to each item as a separate circuit, dont daisy chain. Give each item its own cable including the return (black wire) brought back to the panel. Be neat make a permanent record of what you've done. Fuse each circuit with a fuse rated about 50% above what that item should draw. Always carry plenty of spare fuses.
- Q: I recently got a new dishwasher. My hubby and I are in the middle of installing, and are to the point of hooking it back up to the electricity. The cord that we have has 2 black wires, one is smooth the other ribbed, then on the dishwasher, we have a black, white, and green(ground). Which wires do I hook up to which?(cord) black smooth black ribbed (dishwasher)blackwhitegreen(ground)
- The two black wire cord is one wire short to properly connect the dishwasher. The black wire on the dishwasher is the one that is supposed to get connected to a hot wire (it is supposed to be black), which goes all the way back to a breaker in the breaker panel. The white wire is supposed to be connected to a wire (it is supposed to be white) that eventually gets connected to the neutral bar in the breaker panel where all the other white (neutral) wires are connected. The green wire is for safety, it is the ground wire. It is supposed to be connected to another green wire (or a bare wire) that will go all the way back to the breaker panel and connect to the ground bus in the breaker panel with all the other green or bare wires. The two black wires, one ribbed, is just a two wire cord. The fact that one is ribbed, just makes it easy for anyone to know which is which. It is typically used for lamps that do not need to be grounded, so there is no need for the third green wire. It is not suitable or legal to use to hook up a dishwasher. It is also doubtful that the two wire black cord is a large enough gauge (size) of wire. If a wire is too small, it can overheat and cause a fire. The minimum wire gauge recommended for dishwashers is 12 AWG copper.
- Q: What does the quot;Hstand for in quot;AWG 34Hwire?Also, would Heavy Poly Nylon magnetic wire be considered enameled?
- Magnet wire is often called varnished or enameled, but it is actually insulated with a thin coating of insulating material designed specifically for the purpose. I assume that heavy poly nylon material is one of those materials. The H is probably the temperature class of the insulation. Class H insulation is rated to operate at up to 180 degrees C. Edit 1 The H could also stand for heavy as in the heavy build or double build terminology used to describe thicker than standard insulation. It is part of a specific manufacturer's catalog number rather than a part of the American Wire Gauge (AWG) designation. Manufacturer's sell many different varieties of magnet wire. The manufacturer's literature and NEMA or IEC standards provide details regarding the insulation materials used and the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the wire.
- Q: Would crepe paper stick on chicken wire?
- Crepe paper needs an adhesive to make it stick to a surface, such as white glue. However, it gets messy once dampened, as the colors may bleed. Instead, I would consider working with paper mache or plaster gauzing strips, which would provide a strong skin over the chicken wire. Both can be primed with gesso then decorated with acrylic paints. If this is a sculptural piece you want to keep, we would also suggest varnishing it for protection.
- Q: 1. what is drive-by-wire?2. what is drive-by-brake?
- think maybe think of road as wire learn how and when to brake but this might be what it is
- Q: If 46 m of nichrome wire is to have a resistance of 12.0 Ω at 20°C, what diameter wire should be used? in mm
- Resistance of a wire in Ω R = ρL/A ρ is resistivity of the material in Ω-m L is length in meters A is cross-sectional area in m? A = πr?, r is radius of wire in m resistivity Nichrome 150e-8 Ω-m 12 = (150e-8 Ω-m)(46m)/(πr?) solve for r, which would be the radius of the wire in meters. change to mm, and multiply by 2 to get diameter. .
- Q: Please help,I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee LaredoThe wire harness on the hitch has 7 wires,The whole thing is shot,My Question is can i just wire in a 4 prong harness, On my trailer yellow is left turn-green is right turn-brown is stop tail, white is ground The Jeep has 7 wires a green-a tan- a brown w green stripe-a blue w red stripe-a red w blue stripe and a bigger light blue and a bigger black, can i splice into these or do i have to get a converter of some sort ,Any idea'sTHANK YOU
- auto parts stores have adapters
- Q: i have old wiring for a stove that iam putting in ,a new box but i have only 3 wires 2 of them are white and 1 black how should i connect on a 4 wire receptacle? on the receptacle 1 white 1 green, 4 a ground then it says x then y ???????
- The new 4 wire receptacle needs a 4 wire circuit. It will have a white, a green or bare for ground, and a black and red for x and y.
- Q: Why is it that some wires get hot, having electricity flow throught them, while others don't?And why is it that when there is a lot of resistance in a wire, that it doesn't get hot?Why does the length of a wire has an effect on the temperature of that wire, and how exactly?
- we know that the power = i^2 *r where i : is the current through the wire. r : is the equivalent resistance of the current. so this power will be consumed in the wire in form of heat, so if the resistance of any wire increase, the absorbed power will increase. Also we know the resistance of any wire = * l / a where : - = constant, the resistivity of the matter ( copper, aluminum,... ). - l = the length of the wire. - a = cross section of area of the wire. as the length of the wire increase, the resistance will increase, so the power will increase, this lead to increase of the heat in the wire.
- Q: Us the French wire hook earrings gold? 14kt gold?!?
- French wire earrings are a style of earrings for pierced ears. They have a long hook shape. They can come in gold or silver or any metal. The style isn't an indication of its metal content. If they are 14k gold, they will need to be stamped as such and you should buy them from a reputable jeweller. Online buying can be a problem, they are people who fake the gold markings (especially goods from Asian countries) and you might think you are getting real gold, but you aren't. Also, sometimes only the wire hook part is gold, the attachment or dangle might be an alloy metal and not gold at all.
