- Q: I need some advice! For my wedding we will be borrowing tables and metal folding chairs. I already have the tables planned out with white tablecloths and a fuschia tulle runner down the center. My problem is the chairs are really ugly and I need a very cheap idea on how to cover those. We are on a really tight budget ($3,000 for everything)as we are paying for everything ourselves. I was thinking of buying some tulle for the chairs and ribbon, but I wanted to know if anyone would have any idea what that would cost per chair? My colors are fuschia, yellow and orange. Thanks!
- This may sound weird..but it works! My friend had the same concern/issue for her reception, so here was what we did... Pillowcases! We went to a few of our local discount/closeout stores that sell bed linens. We bought out all of the white pillow cases they had and even found a few that were in the blue color that she was using for her wedding colors. They came 2 in each pack for only 1.00 to 1.50 per pack (depending on which store we got them from) so we really only pd about .75 or so per chair. here's how to do it.... 1-Slip the case over the back of the chair and pull down just until you reach the seat and the entire back is covered. 2-Standing behind the chair, fold the excess at the top towards you in a way that results in a cuff that is about 3 to 4 wide, 3-fold that down towards you over the back of the chair and pin it to secure. 4-Then use your tuelle and tie a bow to camoflouge the fold. We used wide satin ribbon and created more of a banded look (like a ribbon sash on a wedding gown). We tied it into a knot- without the bow-and left the long streamer-trails. We had also arranged it so that all of the 'knots w/trailing ribbons were more towards the right sides of the chairs, rather than directly in the center. It was very striking and we got a LOT of compliments on it! If you DO use cases in both white and your wedding color, use your wedding color ribbon/netting to tie on the white chairs and then use white ribbon/netting to tie on the color chairs. - Q: I didn't lose all that much weight, mind. But without that little bit of natural padding, my butt and legs get really really sore very quickly from sitting in my office chair. I'll admit, it was the cheapest office chair they had, but this was never a problem before. What should I do about this? Should I get a better chair, or just like a cushion or something?
- Get a new chair. A good chair is important. Do NOT skimp on a chair if you plan on working in it. Don't break the bank, but don't skimp. Same is true for shoes, flooring, kitchen knives or anything you need on a daily basis. Cheap things are cheap for a reason. My parents taught me long ago to get nice things, keep them a long time and spend the money once. You'll be happier and it is less expensive in the long run. That said, price can be indicative of quality, but it is never a MEASURE of quality. A $60 chair probably won't fit well or last long. A $500 dollar chair is a rip off or some art-deco thing that doesn't aid your comfort any. Shop around and you'll find something.

- To me the molecules are more real. It is only a chair because we made it and called it that. In actuality it is only a mass of molecules formed and pressed together to shape something. Therefor it can become something else, but it is still a mass of molecules.

- Color can be incorporated easily if you add a slight variation to the game . Color all the chairs in some way and make one or two chairs black . If a student is left without a chair or sits in a black chair they are automatically out . The only way they would not be out is if they sit in a black chair and yell Pardon Please before they sit . Makes them be aware of where the chairs are and what conditions they must fulfill to sit in a black chair .
- Q: They are all in the same room and are in fairly close proximity to each other. Should I cover them all in the same fabric? Or cover the dining chairs in a solid pattern, and the bar stools in a complementing fabric? Thanks
- NavyBrat - I recently re-covered 6 kitchen chairs and 6 dining rom chairs. They are in separate rooms but visible to each other. I chose 2 different patterns with the same color profile. Different textures - the kitchen chairs have a much heavier texture tan the dining room chairs. I did a lot of shopping and found my fabric at a local remnant upholstery shop. I purchased 5 yards of fabric for $35. The original price on the fabric for the kitchen chairs was $30 per yard and the original price for the dining room fabric was $35 per yard. I do believe I got a great deal. 12 chair cushions for $35. Same color profile - different pattern, different texture. Good luck

- I am on the fence with this one. In my heart I want very much to say I am against all forms of capital punishment. But I have had bad things done to me when I was younger (nothing sexual and not by my own family) been robbed, beat up for no reason and so on and these things have twisted my attitude. Not to mention just the normal mean as hell things that kids do to other kids. And so with that in mind, I typically feel that if I knew of someone who was murdered and I somehow had control over the offending persons future I would opt of the death penalty. But in my mind it has to be proven 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt. Now that, that's out of the way... I would favor lethal injection. Causing pain for a few moments at the end of a persons life does no good and does not even serve as a decent deturent. To me what is important is perventing the offender from ever doing what they did again. And life in prison to me is actually much less humane.
