Q: Which wire is quot;hot, white or black?
Usually, most Fire Alarm wiring is color-coded red and black. FPL and other fire alarm cables are usually red/black for a 2 conductor cable. If a system is wired class 1, with THHN conductors in conduit, I have seen both black and white used as the positive lead. The electricians who wire it are likely to use whatever convention they are used to. If they deal with low voltage, they could use white for + and black for -. If they are high voltage electricians, they could do the opposite. The AC service, (120V or 240V) will be wired per National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), which is black = line, white = neutral.
Q: How is commercial wiring differ from residental wiring in design, operation and etc?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Residental Vs Commercial Electric Wiring? How is commercial wiring differ from residental wiring in design, operation and etc?
Q: how to wire the alternator for a 77 mustang
Ever thought about just putting a one wire alternator in there and doing away with the external voltage regulator. Its a nice upgrade.
Q: I notice my 10/100 Ethernet wire uses 4 wires (2 twisted pairs). I'm curious what each wire is used for. I understand one pair is for Tx (transmit) and the other for Rx (receive) but why does it need 2 wires for each? I assume bits of data cross on one, but what of the other?

Q: is it safe to use twist on wire connector to connect my new stereo or should i crimp instead?
I would suppose in this case there is a good better best way to do it. IMO I would never do twists on a stereo, at the very least, do butt connectors. Best way would be to solder each wire one by one and seal with heat shrink. That will give you a very clean look and you'll be proud of yourself :)
Q: need to know how to properly wire this amp in a truck
wow I have never heard of this amp until u mentioned it. the ratings seem good. ur best option would be to call sonic electronics have them send you a manual on how to wire this amp. they sell this amp. I mean u ask how to properly wire it. wire it to get power ? or to the woofers ? red wire + goes to your battery. black wire - goes to your ground (not your battery) to the frame of ur vehicle. then u need a blue wire, your remote this wire goes to ur stereo's remote wire it should be the same color or it will be marked. but if u do not know how to hook up an amplifier u should go to a professional shop due to the fact if u improperly hook ur amp up YOU CAN START A FIRE IN YOUR CAR.
Q: What are the effects on an amp when you use power/ground wires that are too small? I bought a set of 8 guage wires off of OKorder, and it stated they can handle up to 1000W. I'm using a Kenwood KAC-9103D amp, 500x1 @ 4ohms, 900x1 @ 2ohms, and 900+ x1 @1ohm (1800 W max power). My subs are Kicker VR8, dual voice coil, 4ohms, wired in parallel. Was it a mistake to go with 8 guage wiring? Should have I gone with 4 guage?
Using smaller wires will cause your wire to heat . As the wire gets hot conductivity decreases giving less current to the amp. It seems like you are spending some money for the equipment i would use a 4 gauge to protect your investment. I have seen people car catching fire because of bad audio wiring
Q: How can it be possible to create a high voltage and have a small gauge wire? Example: 3gj or 3000mw in a small wire (just an example)
Assuming the wires aren't linked, and assuming the voltages are with appreciate to floor. There's no difference between the wires, or as a minimum there need not be any variations. What makes you factor there may be. Voltage is only a knowledge utilized to the wire, through batteries for example. When you have a 1.5 volt battery and a ninety volt battery (that you would be able to purchase these, but steeply-priced) both with the bad tied to floor. Now take 2 small pieces of copper wire, about an inch long. Lay each one on the constructive terminal of one of the crucial batteries. That meets your stipulations. Nothing happens to the wires.
Q: A vertical straight wire carrying an upward 14.2 A current exerts an attractive force per unit length of 7.80E-4 N/m on a second parallel wire 7.60 cm away. What is the magnitude of the current that flows in the second wire?
For a current I1 = 14.2 Amperes and radial separation between wires r =0.076 m, the magnetic field at wire 2 is B =0.000037368 Tesla If current I2 = 21 Amperes then the force per meter is F/ΔL =0.000784 Newtons/m hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hba... Goodbye
Q: Hi, I'm extending my pc 5.1 sound system stereo cables. I have a M/F extension wire which I will cut to solder a seamless wire to the system. Problem is that in the system cable I have a white, green(or red) and bare wire. and ont he extension I have a black red and white. Which wire do I connect to which?thanks
It doesn't matter as long as you keep it strait, when ever possable connect a white wire to white wire, red wire to red wire etc...if you have like a green wire original but no green extension wire then I would use green electrical tape to color code the extension wire to the same color as the original, you can buy electrical tape in almost any color and wrap it around the wire and connector ends for color coding...
