- Q: My mom always wants me to vacuum but this really hurts my ears - EVEN WITH EAR PLUGS!lolSo.. i'm just wondering if they can make you deaf.. thanks
- If u vacuum like 10 times a day for 10 years maybe
- Q: vacuum, air cleaners. Duribilaty, usuages, warrentys, etc.
- They are terribly overrated. I would never put that much money in a vac.
- Q: I have low plush carpet, and two cats, one that sheds alot! So I need something that has alot of power. Any suggestions?
- Here's a break down for you: Dyson makes a great vacuum for pet owners. These vacuums never loose suction power or clog. Dyson's are the ONLY bagless vacuums you should consider. I'm not saying they are the only vacuum for you, but they are the only bagless vacuums that won't clog up with pet hair. The pros are that the vacuum needs virtually no maintanence. You won't have to replace bags, belts or filters and the suction power is the strongest on the market. I recommend you look at the Dyson Absolute Animal ($549). Aside from Dyson, Kenmore really makes the best vacuum on the market. If you are looking for an upright, look for model 20-35922/3. It was rated #1 by consumer reports. There is no belt to replace. It has great suction and hand tools specifically for cleaning up pet hair. You want to buy the cloth bags. They are more expensive, but they hold three times the pet hair and keep your vacuum from smelling up the house with cat smell. Vaccum, $280 + $8 for bags $15 for the filter. Kenmore also has some great canister style vacuums. These are better if you have a lot of stairs/hard floors. They have a power-driven hand tool that is unbelievable for pet hair. Again, buy the cloth bags. Model 20-24914/5 $399 or 20-24614 $299 + $8 for bags and $15 for filters. Hoover makes a nice vacuum, but they tend to be noisy and not as easy to push as the Kenmore plus you have to change belts. Dyson would still be my top choice for you, but the Kenmores's are less expensive up front.
- Q: Sears just had a sale on vacuum cleaners and I got their progressive upright model 35923 with the quot;intelicleansystem. This is the one highly rated by Consumer Reports.I used it for a few days, and it seemed okay, except the inteliclean system would start acting weird after about 30 minutes of use. It would slip into the highest-power mode and get quot;stuckthere. Even on areas that it previously went over and sensed as clean. I could temporarlily fix it by switching out of carpet mode, then back in, but after a while it would get stuck again.Swapped it for another one, and the sales associate tells me to NOT USE the inteliclean system the first few times I vacuum. When I ask why, she says quot;I don't know what the reason is, we're just supposed to tell the customers thatquot;. Sounds pretty strange to me. There's nothing in the manual about it.Has anyone else gotten this advice from Sears regarding their inteliclean equipped vac? If so, what's the reason for it?
- Haven't okorder and see what you can find.....everyone reviews everything there....
- Q: Why are sewing machines and vacuum cleaners always repaired at the same shop?
- If you think about it they have similar type action in the way they operate - if you can repair one you could repair the other easily. There's a rotating action in both.
- Q: During the post war period and up until around the beginning of the 1960's what are some things in technology or inventions that helped women's domestic roles at home? For example washing machine, vacuum cleaners and electricity?Thank you! :D
- Feminism lol
- Q: is there a place that will let you rent vacuum cleaners for like a few hours or a day?
- Yes there are, but they usually charge so much you're better off buying your own vacuum during a good sale.
- Q: thee is so much talk about kirby vacuum cleaners ,are they that good?anyway i want to test one and looking for one to purchase onlinewhere can i look?
- Had one about 16 yrs. No complaints, but it is pricy. Bags pricy. Carpet shampoo works, other brands of shampoo not recommended (work poorly). Reliable, wife likes the self propelled option on single level house. Wouldn't want to push it around house without self propelling, which requires adjusting every few years. Buy one, will last a lifetime, I think. Try to get price down to $700-800. Salesmen will dicker w/you.
- Q: how long have they been in use
- not sure but it has been several years I don't know anyone personally that has one I would like to try one but way too expensive for me!
- Q: Anyone else have the experience of their dog turns into a raving lunatic when you get the vacuum cleaner out? How can you get him to stop barking?
- Leave the vacuum on while you address your dog. Mine was doing that and I used one of the 'Dog Whisperer's' techniques of immediately addressing my pit when he started lunging at my vacuum cleaner. I stopped, got between him and the vacuum and let him know by 'Pssting', snapping my fingers and getting his attention that his behavior wouldn't be tolerated. It took about 30 seconds for him to get the idea. Now I just have to 'Psst' and put my hand out for him to stop. He sits back and looks at me like, Oh. Okay.
