Q: Where can I buy cheap carpet tiles?
I found one site, American Carpet Wholesale that had tiles as low as $1 a sq. ft. The FLOR kind is expensive- some are around $5 a square foot. There are a few other sites, with just a simple cheap carpet tile search on yahoo, but many have some ridiculouly high shipping prices.
Q: I have an area rug 10' x 7' about 4 years old...I have purchased new furniture and moved things around so the rug is now too big for the area i want it...but I like it still....does anyone know a place to cut a rug?!!!!! I would want about 3' shorter....I don't think of design would be lost......thanks to all..
Check with specialty carpet outlets. Cutting would be easy, they would have ideas on who could put a binding on that end.
Q: Three rugs have a combined area of 200 sq meters. By overlapping the rugs to cover a floor area of 140 sq meters, the area covered by exactly two rugs is 24 sq meters. What area of the floor is covered by three rugs? Please explain your answer..... Show me how.....Thanks
First, the 140 sq meters of floor can be cateogrized into three categories: 1 - area covered by exactly one rug 2 - area covered by exactly two rugs 3 - area covered by exactly three rugs. If the combined area of the three rugs is 200 sq meters, and you are only covering 140 sq meters of floor, then 200 - 140 = 60 sq meters must be overlapped (meaning it is covered by either 2 or three rugs). Now since you say that 24 sq meters is covered by exactly two rugs, that means that the area covered by three rugs is 60 - 24 sq meters = 36 sq meters covered by three rugs. Hope this helps.
Q: we live in a rented apartment, we have carpet installed but we would prefer hard wood so much better. is there a way, inexpensive much preferred, to have hard wood over the carpet without damaging the carpet? hope to hear some interesting suggestions, thanks!!
The tile floor would be ruined, and the value of the house lessened, but it can be done. A better idea, if the tile is nice is to buy large area rugs which have no slip padding on the back. It will be easier to keep the room clean also, around the walls, etc. Wall to wall carpeting really picks up a lot of awful stuff, look how much dirt you sweep up each day? A tile floor is healthier than wall to wall. Get some better shoes for indoors, although I have marble and tile and love the feel on my feet, which no longer hurt as they used to.? Don't know what that means for you, though, Good Luck
Q: It started out as a small black printer ink on the carpet. I tried to use WD40, then Jax, now it looks like a giant orange/light black circle! How can I get rid of this? PLEASE HELP ME!
use Resolve carpet cleaner, it will clean the stain, i use it every time i have stains on my carpet. It works well....
Q: im putting new carpet in my camaro..what glue do should i use and how do i seal it?
molded floor carpet should just lay down maybe some spray trim adhesive for the jute backing. but only a little. I prefer 3M brand at auto supply stores
Q: Hi,I am a tenant and had a leakage from a dishwasher. now carpet is wet and smelly.around 1 square meter is the carpet area affected. I told the landlord about it. My question is should I remove the carpet myself in the meantime just to prevent mould from building up?As long as I took pictures I am safe doing it if landlord does not send someone to fix within say 48 hours?Regardless, is it not the best thing to do anyway - remove the wet section and put in garbage until they come to install new carpet? is trying to dry and clean it instead an option?THANKS
No, don't go tearing out carpet. What I would do is use a wet/dry vac or carpet shampooer and suck up all the moisture first, then go back over it with a hot, soapy, solution with just a small amount of bleach. The bleach shouldn't hurt the color of the carpet if you use trace amounts, but it will kill any mold or fungus that might start forming. The carpet shouldn't have to be torn up, if properly cleaned like the above poster stated.
Q: How to clean the glue on the carpet?
If it is chewing gum or flexible glue like double faced adhesive tape or Black & Decker glue ( full- purpose adhesive), and banana oil. use the volatile oil, but the carpet will be damaged, chloroform and hot water containing soda are the best. transformer oil and rosin water can also be used; if it is glass glue, acetic acid could be used(vinegar essence, nail color remover); if it is 502, it is afraid of heat and alkalis; if it is epoxy resin (combining of two kinds of glues), white vinegar), Fengyoujing could be used if you are afraid of pollute the air.
Q: I noticed that my carpet has holes in it. there are tiny areas where the carpet strands are gone/eaten/disappeared/burned/etc and i don't know what it is. Also, around the area it is black or has black stuff left on the carpet (light brown carpet color). Any ideas as to what it is? How to stop it? Fix it? [also the only pets i have are fish]
there's a few things that live in carpets or breed there. but moths are the ones that are famous for holes. the larvae eat the rug then become moths. If you're lucky a little flea spray and the worms will come up so you can see them. start using boric acid or diatomaceous earth (buy the kind for this use not the pool filter material). sprinkle on carpet and brush deep with broom. Vacuum more regularly and put down more boric acid every few months at least.
Q: He is 9 months old and He is not allowed in my room. When I accidentally leave the door open to go cook etc, within 2 min. he runs in and pees right on the rug by my bed.It is infuriating! He is allowed everywhere else in my house, just not in my bedroom. Can anyone tell me why he does this and how I can deter him? I have tried verbal correction, removing him quickly from my room, putting him outside, even rubbing his nose in it. Nothing...someone help!
Make sure she doesn't have a UTI. If she has been doing fine until now that would be the first thing I would check. You need to eliminate the rugs she has been peeing on too...if there is carpet under then I would suggest Nature's Miracle or tearing out the carpeting. Why isn't she housebroke at 4 years old?
