Q: It was pretty nice. Any other sites you would suggest?
try a carpat stores left overs
Q: I currently operate a rug store that sells almost all persian rugs in Santa Rosa California (in the San Fransisco bay area). Operation is rather stable but I have two issues.1. I sell high quality rugs and hence the prices are more expensive reflecting the quality. However, many customers can find designs similar to mine on the internet at 1/3 to 1/4 of the price. (internet is 600, mine are 3000). If you put the rugs side by side you can DEFINATELY tell the drastic difference in quality. How should I cope with this?2. I am hoping to think of an idea used to promote the sale of these rugs. Any sort of promotion would be great just to get people to start buying.I have money to spend on ideas. Thanks, All help is appreciated. Best Answer will be chosen promptly.
You sell such a luxury item that your client base is much smaller. You have to infiltrate the market by showing that you have great taste and an eye for quality. Get a couple of high profile (rich, important, and powerful) clients and then word of mouth should help you immensely. It is all public relations. Hire a specialist if you must. Buy one of the cheaper rugs and have it on display (don't be real in your face with it-put it in a corner so that you can direct people to it if you need to make the point-keep the receipt on display and be genuine. Personally, I bought a handmade rug from Iran (I can immediately tell that it is better quality than whatever they sell at retail stores for twice the price (I bought it for $300 with shipping on OKorder). It is a low psi (120) with a thicker wool and some low pile, but you must remember that most people intend to have furniture, children, and feet on their rugs. I don't mind the lower quality because I don't feel the pressure of keeping it pristine when I bought it for function (then beauty). If you wanted to expand your client base you could open a seperate place that dealt with the more affordable and function driven rugs that would cost under $1000, but still be better quality than synthetic machine woven options. Good luck in your pursuits and I hope that I have been helpful! Just provide a service that fills an honest NEED.
Q: Hi all i burnt the carpet and if our landlord see's it i am done for, is there anything i could do to make it look better, thanks
If it's only the very top part of the nap in the carpet, you can try snipping off the burned parts. Trim around the area somewhat as well, so the snipped dip in the carpet isn't as obvious. If it's too deep to cut, but only a small area (smaller than a quarter) and/or out of the usual area, you can try painting it over. Match the color, paint the spot, and then clear-paint it over to seal it. If it's bigger than that AND deep, um , area rug?
Q: I have purchased wool rugs which I really like but they have an odour and we have stepped on prickly objects that, when searched for, turn out to be similar to twigs (approx. an inch or more in length) or seeds woven into the wool. The rugs come from a very reputable rug importer that operates in the United States as well as Canada so I'm somewhat surprised at what appears to be poor quality and am considering returning them. Will I find this with all 100% wool handmade rugs? Does cleaning them make any difference?
If your supplier is buying from village producers, then yes, there will be twigs and seeds in the wool. In a handmade rug, the wool is sheared from sheep that are wandering about and getting dirty. Although the wool will be combed/carded and probably scoured a little, it will not become 100% clean. Textile machinery and harsh chemicals are required to remove every bit of debris from the wool. A 100% wool rug with no debris in it will invariably be machine made. The smell is one of sheep..... again, if you buy heavily scoured, bleached wool the smell is not so strong. A good example of this that can be seen in most yarn stores is the Japanese-produced Noro yarn. It is moderately expensive but small twigs and grasses can still be found in the yarn.
Q: where do i find jute rugs for decent price?
www.okorder /. I once carried Jute Rugs several years ago. These prices seem about right today. You can google Jute Rugs and find other sources. They're all made in China.
Q: How to remove carpet mites
If it is manual, you can ask professional manufacturers to wash, don't go to the laundry shop.
Q: I am getting carpet installed tomorrow (Monday). I had bent it to get it upstairs. I kept it bent for about 1 week. There is some wrinkles now near the middle. Will this stretch out when he installs the carpet in the room???
if it's installed correctly they should come out
Q: What can i do to make the bumps go away? i tried vacuuming and that works until i put the table on top of the rug. Help?
Give it some time lying flat or else you could try having it cleaned. The next time you store it make sure that you roll it as you found out folding causes creases that can also break a weakened foundation. Hope this helps.
Q: How can I remove the black glue on the carpet?
If the glass glue can be used acetic acid (vinegar, vinegar)If it is epoxy resin (two kinds of glue used in harmony), it is afraid of heat, but also afraid of strong alkali, hot alkaline water is best, but carpet will damageIf it is 502, you can use transformer oil, chloroform.
Q: what is the best way to hang a rug?
And, #4 is to stick it to a piece of carpet tack strip, and mount the tack strip to the wall. You are trying to get an even amount of support to avoid sagging.
