- Q: Recently I was sent a link to Yahoo answers from a client who was shocked to read the misinformation albeit well meaning answers to many questions about carpet dyeing. Carpet dyeing is a very specialized field and few have mastered the technology. I want to ask after the nay-sayers have read the correct information, if they have finally achieved the correct education to venture any kind of answer about carpet dyeing. Whether stain, spot, wrong color, outdated color, or simply color changes all can be done with perfection by a carpet dyeing expert. This is NOT a do-it-yourself type project for property owners. We have corrected many unsuccessful attempts by carpet owners and carpet cleaners who try to dye on their own. Please tell me you experience and I'll give you the correct answers. We have dyed millions of yards of carpets during the last 20 years in more than 200 locations in USA and 8 other countries. I just want people to know it is a viable option to carpet replacement.

- The best way I have found is to do the following: Remove the chunks of wax and as much as you can with your fingers. You may use ice as the others have suggested for this step. Heat your iron on a NON steam setting but pretty hot. Lay a paper bag over the wax spots and iron them. You may have to do this several times with clean paper but the iron melts the wax and the paper absorbs some of it.

- You can only clean it by several times. There is no possibility to remove it one time by diluted oxalic acid. You must be careful that each time to clean it with a large amount of water, and the stain will be lighter after a time's cleaning, with a absorbent cloth to absorb water , repeat several times. One-time removal is impossible, you should ensure that the dilution will not make the carpet colors fall off
- Q: two days ago we rented one of those rug doctors and shampood the carpet. we went over it a few times so the carpet did get wet. - you over wet it the carpet , if the weather is humid the carpet will retain a wet dog smell , next time that you intend to shampoo the carpet make sure that you don't over soak it and that you shampoo it on a dry day and yes keep those windows open , in the mean time to solve the problem spray the carpet with Lysol to neutralize the smell and keep the windows opened on a nice breezy day, next month re shampoo the carpet giving it a pre treatment of white vinegar before shampooing again but this time don't over wet it .

- Q: I know they make oxy cleaner for almost everything these days and they make oxy carpet cleaner but i was wondering seeing the powder oxy is cheaper then the the already made carpet cleaner can i use the tub of oxy (if i mix it with water) on the stains on my carpets just like you would use in your laundry will it do the samething or should i just buy the cleaner itself?
- As a carpet cleaning pro, I've seen hundreds of damaged carpets, mostly Nylon or Polyester, where a laundry product permanently damage the carpet dyes. When inquiring as to what caused the damage, the number one culprit was Oxy Clean Laundry Detergent. About 6 years ago, I came across a couple who used this product to fine tune the spills and stains in their carpet, severly damaging the Nylon carpet in numerous areas. They did receive a settlement from the Oxy company at that time to help replace their carpet. Their ads made it sound like they had a miracle product available. If you have Olefin carpeting, a laundry detergent may not hurt these fibers, but why take a chance. Never use bleach on any spill or stain on furniture or carpeting. I've seen thousands of damaged carpets cause by the mis - use of this laundry product.

- I'm not in the UK, but I just wanted to add my advice: Spend the extra money on a halter with leather over the poll, if not an all-leather halter. Even if you're not turning out in a halter, the leather won't damage your horse if it should get caught up in something or freaks out when tied when you tack up. Also, you need to get the right-sized blanket, which means you need to measure him/her. If the tack shop is going to be open when you bring him/her home, stop there on the way home if he/she is going to need it right away and measure then and there and try stuff on in the trailer (travel in either a stock trailer or a two-horse with the middle divider removed, or a slant-load).
