Q: I like the red carpet the best
I think you mean DOES the carpet match the drapes? And no, I don't have carpet....only hardwood floors. And, actually, come to think of it, I don't have drapes either.....^.^
Q: We just moved into a condo about 3 weeks ago... and we have white carpet. I accidently dropped my ashtray onto the floor of my room, and its caused a HUGE black stain....in a very obvious place! I've tried alot of the carpet cleaners.... and its seeming to just make it worse....can someone help?!
Take a normal mix of PROPER carpet cleaner (not washing up liquid, that contains glycerine and leaves a sticky film for more dirt to cling to!!!) add to your carpet cleaner mix 25% Ammonia, scrub by hand (open widows are good!!!) then rinse off with a wet and dry vacuum cleaner.
Q: My roommate used a rug doctor to clean the carpet, she is a complete cleaning novice, and did it while i was at work. She sprayed to much of the cleaning liquid and left us with slightly damp carpet, it now smells. I have been spraying it with febreeze, but it doesn't seem to be helping too much.I was planning a dinner for some friends on friday night, but it's just embarrassing. Is there anyway i can at least minimize the smell by then?
Ok, is the carpet still wet?? If it is, then get yourself a dehumidifier to dry it out. If it is dry and still smells then there is most likely mold under there. The mold smell will not go away and the worse it is, the worse for your health it is. Have the carpet steam cleaned first, then still get yourself a dehumidifier to dry the carpet this time just to be sure it dries in a timley manor and does not do this again. If after a steam cleaning it still smells... well then the carpet is ruined and will have to be replaced. Good luck.
Q: I spilled a full ashtray on my off white carpet i scrubed it with carpet cleaner i still have a big black spot anyone know how i can get that out? Thanks
You should have not gotten it wet. You should have vacuumed it up right away. There is no real way to get that out of the carpet now. I have tried. I did the same thing. Spilled an ash tray, brushed off as much as i could, then used resolve. I still have the stain. nothing helped. Sorry :(
Q: want to clean carpet that has paint and glue in it without fading or ruin carpet ?
Depends upon what kind of glue and what kind of paint, If you know or not, try Googling to find out. For glue there's water, vinegar, or peanut butter. For paint, there's water, goo-gone, and other chemicals and stuff.
Q: We moved into a new home, and until we change the carpet out, is there a temporary fix you can use to hide unsightly bleach stains on carpeting?
There is a product that can dye the carpet. It's a pain to match the color you have to try a patch test first but try the local hardware store. You could also cut that part of the carpet out replace just the patch. A lot of flooring places will sell remnants cheap.
Q: I am wanting to purchase a carpet shampooer, but I'm not sure which one would be the best.I could use some input on this. Thanks!
if your just looking for a basic carpet cleaner bissel is a pretty good company
Q: i have just rented a house and started to clean the rugs now smell a strong urine oder, can anyone tell me how to get rid of this fast.i tried boarax, backingsoda, vinager , peroxide, and nothing seems to help. i will give 30 points to someone if they help me remove this smell.
You might consider calling your landlord and complaining see if they can send a pro out. Its not your mess and its not something you should have to deal with. If that is not an option I would rent a steam cleaner, just scrubbing will make it soak into the pad and spread but a steam cleaner will suck it out. I think it was bissell (bought mine at target) makes a pet odor remover rug cleaner for steam cleaners, it does help a lot. Before steam cleaning you can pour some pet enzyme cleaner on the area, one I used was called Petzyme and can be found at pet stores. If its really bad though, not a small area but a large area that appears to have been urinated on multiple times its most likely going to need to get replaced. That again wwould be your landlords responsibility, they should not rent out a house with unsanitary conditions.
Q: Normal household carpet. NOT industrial carpet. Per square foot.
The average price for carpet will depend on a few things. The type of yarn, the amount of yarn and type of store you buy it from. Unless you are comparing apples to apples it is not possible to get a fair average price. I have a carpet business and customers ask a question like this all the time. So this is what I tell them. My company has a 25 ounce carpet with a FHA padding for $6.99 per square yard. Just over 77 cents a square foot. This carpet is not industrial and is better then rental carpeting. And the price goes up from this point. You must tell the store you are call the exact type of carpet you want to get comparison prices, that way you are apples to apples, not whatever store one gives you compared to store two. Installation cost run around 30 cents per square foot in my area (depending on size of job, type of carpet, stairs etc.)
