Q: Out of the blue, my main bathroom that guests primarily use starting having an earthy smell coming from the sink drain. Its on the main floor, and there are no floors above it (in other words, not another sink above it). I examined the plumbing under the sink, and everything seems to be in working order, no leaks, trap is in good shape, etc. What should I do here?
In the bathroom, what you has happened that is causing the odor is that mainly hair that has gone down the drain has BUILT up and is clogging the drain at the PVC bend under your sink. Drano and other liquids don't really solve your problem in terms of how long it might last before recurrence, rather the Best Practical Solution is to get a Long Handle Pliers or Pipe Wrench that will twist off the PVC Tube (of course you need a flat pan underneath to catch some water) and once you have it off, you clean it out and dump the trash afterwards. Then reassembling it, you will need either Teflon tape or another temporarily (don't use permanent PVC glue bec it is meant to be taken of) substance <= visit Home Depot or Lowes Plumbing) and before you go, make sure you test & check that your long handled pliers or pipe wrench can open wide enough. Then after you reassemble everything, you simply turn on the water and test for leaks, and if none, you should be Good to Go! Hope the Above Info Helps and Best of Luck!
Q: Very weird question here. I am petsitting for a family with several cats and dogs. The youngest kitten is living in a bathroom, currently (it is the only small, enclosed, safe place for him to stay until the family returns). Unfortunately, despite his having a clean litterbox, he is constantly pooping in the sink, which is unpleasant for me to deal with--obviously! How can I discourage him from doing this without really disciplining or hurting him in any way? I can't easily put something over the sink that he couldn't pull down and hurt himself with.
Might be UTI or attitude.
Q: The old faucet on my bathroom sink is a single handled one. Can I change it to a double handled one?
Yes. As long as there are two holes in the sink. When you take off the old faucet there should be two holes under the cover plate. Just hook up your hot and cold water to those.
Q: Balcony washbasin marble good or good stainless steel
Each have their own advantages, or look at their own preferences it
Q: Pots and sprinklers with a faucet switch?
Yes, is a single hole faucet or double hole faucet
Q: Bathroom wash basin what material is good
Ceramic, looks more upscale, the overall mix is also simple.
Q: We recently renovated our entire house and we replaced all the faucets in the entire house. The electric hot water heater was also relocated. But now the water doesn't get hot in either bathroom sink. The faucets were purchased from Home Depot I have enclosed the link below. I don't want to call the contractor back out because I don't feel like dealing with him. It took him 8 month to complete the renovation that was suppose to take 2 months... Please help !! http://www.homedepot /Bath-Bathroom-Faucets-8-Widespread-Sink-Faucets/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xg1ZaqnbZ1z139uiZ1z139etZ1z11e3f/R-202044181/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
Tonya, It has nothing to do with the faucets. If you get hot water anywhere in your house, the water heater is not the problem either. When you turn on those faucets on as if to get hot water out of those faucets & the water NEVER gets hot, that means that your contractor improperly connected those faucets. In other words, those faucets are not connected to the hot water line. You're going to have to call that contractor back to have him fix his screw-up. Good luck.
Q: Our house was built in 1992. The faucet is old and needs to be replaced. At one point we had purchased a Moen faucet, but the new faucet had like rigid pipe connections whereas the old one has what appears to be soft copper much smaller pipe connections. Im just wondering if this is something that is not easily done. Do they still sell the faucets with the soft copper lines? Or do we need a plumber to do this?
If your asking this question... Get a plumber. It'll cost you allot less now than if you do it yourself and the line leaks or breaks when your not around. They can usually do it for around a hundred dollars or less..
Q: The cover over the drain on my bathroom sink wont open or close. Its barely open right now. But when I move the stick up or down the stopper wont move. The stick moves up and down just fine its just the stopper. If someone could please tell me how to fix this or give me a website that shows pictures and instructions that would be great.
Go to Lowe's and tell them the problem. You need a little part- a screw. It's only like $2.
Q: How to cut the marble on the embedded basin
This should be no tooth saw, dust is particularly large, it is best to find a professional processing point to customize.
