Q: My bathroom sink has a really, REALLY slow drain. Im not sure of what the parts are called so bare with me. I was able to take the bottom pipe, at that makes the u, at the bottom of the sink drain out and there was nothing there. I looked up, through the sink drain and that was clear. I then took a snake and put it into the wall and snaked the pipe as far as I could. I did get &quot;gunk&quot; and I thought that I cleared whatever was blocking the pipe creating the slow drain, but apparently I didnt. Right now Im just waiting for the sink to drain again to take that U off so I can snake the wall again. Thats all I can think of doing. Is there anything else for me to do, or is just keep snaking it my only option?: A slow sink drain is usually a hair block in the stopper arm but you are past that so the snake will work but I suspect an air lock or a full main drain line and that means either the main sewer line is blocked or the septic tank is full. If the snake does not solve the problem then you need a professional drain cleaning company.

Q: how do you clean an acrylic bathroom sink basin?: 1 Fill your sink with hot tap water. Pour a cup of household bleach into the hot water.If you cannot use bleach, add a cup of white vinegar instead. 2 Allow your sink to sit for one hour so the hot water mixture can loosen any grime that is coating your acrylic sink. 3 Drain the hot water solution from your sink and rinse it thoroughly with hot water to remove all traces of bleach or vinegar. 4 Wet your washcloth with warm water and squirt some liquid dish detergent onto it. 5 Scrub your sink with your soapy washcloth, remembering to also go after the faucet and any trim surrounding your acrylic sink. Use an old toothbrush reserved only for cleaning to get into cracks and crevices or attack particularly stubborn areas. 6 Rinse your sink with warm water and then dry it with a lint-free cloth. Q: My husband recently fixed a leak in the bathroom tub (sealed something) and obviously had to turn the water off while working on this. Since then the hot water in the bathroom sink does not work when we turn the faucet on (the cold water faucet does work and come out fine). Also not the kitchen sink has a delay when turning it off (water comes out about 5 seconds after turning off) Any ideas why this may be occurring?: He might not have completely turned the hot water valve back on at the water heater ( or if there is a cold feed that one has to be full open too. I doubt this is the problem though. I think somewhere in the process of fixing the problem small bits of rubber and crap in the pipes was pushed forward when he turned the water back on and got stuck in the hot water cartridge in the faucet. Have him shut the water off under the sink , remove the cartridge ( or stem) and put a rag over the hot water opening then turn the valve under the sink back on for a few seconds to blast out whatever is in the pipe. Then he can try to clean the cartridge out or evaluate the condition of the washer on the stem if it isn't a cartridge. Assuming the water came out full force when the cartridge/stem was removed it is resolved by cleaning or replacing. If no water came out, it is time to work your way back down the plumbing system to see that everything is turned on. Once you have eliminated everything you can, it will then make sense to call a plumber if the hot water still doesn't work.

Follow directions and pour the recommended quantity down the sink drain. It will work it's way down the the stoppage. Let it sit for about 1 hr. I've used it twice with success. I'm saying the sink drain because the stoppage appears to be at the junction of the sink and tub drain with the major stoppage on the sink side.
