Q: would the wiring harness on a 1.8 acura integra engine fit a 1.6 honda civic harness?: Yes.. As long as its an OBD0 to OBD0, OBD1 to OBD1, OBD2 to OBD2 and if it Vtec or non Vtec. If you try to swap an OBD1 to OBD2 don't work, and vise versa, If both are OBD2 and are both Vtec. yea it will work, you'll just have a couple of wire left if you use the harness from a 1.8 Vtec.

Q: The wire is size 10AWG and will be to install a small fluorescent light in a closet. It is coming off of a typical electric outlet. I know someone who is witing it with commercial wire and I think it may be dangerous. Is it?: What do you mean by commercial wiring? The gauge of the wire or what it's connected to does not, in itself, make it commercial.

Q: You have a 3 foot wide wire, vs a .3 inch wire. They are equal length. There is 3 volts going through each wire, to power your 1 volt LED. So, would the 3 foot wide wire have less resistance ? I don't even think it would work.: Because there are a lot more electrons available in that ridiculously large wire.

Q: my dogs have chewed my central air contactor wire.my ac will not cut on. does anyone knows how to replace them and where to buy replacement wires locally( i live in Dallas TX.) i would like to do it myself instead of spending a lot of money.: This should be copper wire and a splice could be made with little risk since the thermostat is a low voltage circuit in most cases. Try the local HVAC contractor for some of the type you need. There are different types ( number of conductors) for different controllers so they need to match. If you just have the HVAC contractor do a fall service on the system they can make the needed repairs and prepare the whole system for the winter. It was probably used a lot this last summer so a service is about due.

Thanks!: Normal wiring with two connections on thermostat, on from timer and two on element would be a single wire from one of the timer wires to one connection on thermostat, one wire from other connection on thermostat to heater connection, then one wire from other heater connection back to remaining connection on timer. This is if the thermostat is high voltage and not a low voltage signal to a controller perhaps on the timer.

Q: I have a wire coming from the car battery positive terminal. It is 12v DC. I want to split this wire to two other wires. I cannot connect another wire to the positive terminal. Will splitting this wire cause the voltage to drop to 6v each wire? or will they pull a constant 12v each?: They will each have 12 volts. But the split wire may be too thin for the current. Instead, connect the wire to your first load, then a wire from there to the second load.

Q: i need 175ft of 110 wire how much does it cost?: there is several kinds of 110 wire, and the price will vary according to the type and the day you buy it I would have to know what you were going to use it for to determine the approximate cost and the proper type. you could use 40 cents a foot as a guesstimate.

Q: I removed a dishwasher and now the wires are exposed. I turned off the circuit to that outlet. I am planning on waiting a while to replace the dishwasher. I want to turn the circuit back on so I can use the other outlets, but don't want to leave the wires exposed. Any ideas?: Congratulations on getting the dishwasher removed. That certainly is the hardest part. Here are a couple of suggestions 1) You can use wire nuts (if you have any) or use Black Electrical tape. It's very inexpensive, (does not conduct electricity) and you can find it at most grocery store and hardware stores. Wrap each wire independently with plenty of tape, then wrap a good layer of tape around both (wrapped) wires. The next thing to do , is to make sure the electrical wire does not touch the floor (in case of a water leak etc..) Coil up the wire, (close to where is comes out of the wall) and use the black electrical tape to fasten / wrap around it. 2) You could add a (on/off) switch on that line. Put the on/off switch in a safe and easy place to access... even with a dishwasher installed! That way you don't have to turn off the whole circuit, just that individual line to the dishwasher. Q: I have just started wire working to make bracelets. I have a few questions. 1, is there a place where I can buy thick wire (16 to 18 gauge) in bulk? The items I am making take about a yard of wire. Considering the only thing I could find was 16 (or slightly hire) gauge in 7 foot increments.
