AR GLASSFIBRE CHOPPED STRAND
AR GLASSFIBRE CHOPPED STRAND is a high integrity AR glassfibre chopped strand designed for use in dry mix systems or other
premixing processes for subsequent moulding into a GRC component.
This kind of chopped strand has a sizing system optimised for abrasion resistance and strand integrity during blending with dry materials .The low-tex strand permits efficient reinforcement at low dosages .It is particularly suited to the preparation of pre-bagged mixes of special mortars or renders .It may also be used in the manufacture by precasting of standard GRC components.
Example:ARC15-98-12mmL(H)
AR: Alkali Resistant
C: Continuous fibre
15 : Filament diameter
98: Tex of strand
12mm: strand length available
L: ZrO2 content 14.5%
H: ZrO2 content 16.7%
Properties
Good liquidity and integrity
Excellent alkali resistant and durability
been approved by Sheffied University,UK.

- Q:how many cubic feet does 1 bag of cement make?? its a 80 lb bag...In your thoughts or in your experience.....thanks!!
- It should say on the bag. something like 1/2 a cubic foot? Can't remember for sure.
- Q:Hello All, I have had fixed dark brown tiles on my bathroom floor, however the guys did a bad job at it, and i can see the white cement in beween the tiles.. and its actually making the whole pattern look bad.. I was wondering if there was any way I could kind of colour the cement filling in between the tiles so that it blends with the colour of the tiles... ?Also any suggestions for removal of cement stains off these tiles? PLEASE Help, i am really in a mess here.
- If as you say, the the job is of a poor finish you can rake out the joints using a flat head screwdriver when this has been done thoroughly clean the surface. You can purchase coloured waterproof grout from most DIY or hardware stores. If the grout is in powder form then you will need to put water into a container first, then add the powder stirring as you add it until it is of a thick creamy cosistency. Pour this over the tiles and using a rubber squeegy (the type you would use for cleaning your windows) spread the mix and ensure it goes into each tile joint. If it dries quickly then deal with it approximately 1 sq yard at a time. using a sponge and a bucket of water, clean off the excess grout and rub dry with a clean cloth. This should give you a good finish! As for the removing the cement stains this can be removed using a paint scraper and a scouring pad. Note this should be done prior to you preparing the above for grouting. Good luck.
- Q:When building a green house, it is important for it to be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Of course, to do this, energy is required, but to make if energy efficient, a dirt floor might be better, as this would allow for heat production from the earth. However, dirt is not a good insulator, but cement is, so concerves the heat better. What do each do to cold?
- cement
- Q:bouncing the ball on the cement first then change to bouncing the ball on the carpet to see which floor the ball bounces the highest is my independent Variable the carpet? Is the dependent Variable the lower bounce on the carpet. Is the controlled variable the quality of the carpet
- How high your ball bounces is dependent on which surface you bounce it on. The height that you drop it from is the controlled variable as well as using the same ball.
- Q:what is the name of the cement used to build bridges?
- It is called Portland Cement. There is another cement called Pozzolona Cement and that can also be used with some restrictions.
- Q:Let's see if I can get the right. I have 12 cement columns which are three meters high (on third floor) and I want to put wooden columns on top of them 3 meters high. (fourth floor) The trusses will be on top of the wooden column. I'm concerned about how to connect the wooden columns to the cement columns so that they are stable and secure?
- Are you sure they are cement and not fiberglass? Are they solid or hollow? You should maybe run the fourth floor joist out to the columns and put down some subfloor or decking material before adding the new columns. What are the diamiter of the 3rd floor columns? You need to determan the load bearing max on them. If they are fiberglass and 10 they should have a max load of around 10 thousand pounds per column. This should be ok. How far apart are the columns? This will also play into the wieght and how evenly it is distributed. Also check the load max on the new wood columns they will hold much less than the fiberglass.
- Q:I am looking forward to building a block fence. I ran into a YouTube video on the Quikwall surface bonding cement and was curious on your thoughts about that product. Have you tried it? On what and what do you think about it? Thanks!

- Q:is it eaiser to hire somebody?
- That would depend on the size of the job. If it is a small job, the sackcrete would serve you well. Make a form where you want the conrete, put the sackcrete in a five gallon bucket, add water and stir with a shovel. A wheelbarrow, is another option, especially if you have to move any distance from the water source. As it dries, work the cement to the finish that you want. If it starts to dry too fast, add a small amount of water.
- Q:quot; What date was cement made?
- The ancient Greeks and Romans used it to build the aqueducts, baths, and temples, but the modern version of hydraulic cement was developed by James Parker in the 1780s and patented in 1796.
- Q:What is Oilfield cement, is it the same as the cement that cars drive on?
- I have never worked in the Oil Patch, but I believe oilfield cement is a mixture of sand, aggregate and a barium compound (barium carbonate, maybe). If you look at the Periodic Table, you will see that barium lies under calcium, and has the same properties (more or less). Since barium is denser, when an over-pressured oil reservoir is breached, this mixture plugs up the drill hole until the well can be capped. This is a major use of the element barium.
