Shipment

For sea transport, a maximum of 20 pallets (on two levels) may be loaded in a 20 foot container, total net weight is approximately 16 tonnes.

Road vehicle: Up to 18 pallets, total net weight 14.4 tonnes.

Storage

AR GLASSFIBRE CHOPPED STRAND should be stored dry in their original packaging, the best conditions being at a temperature of between 15°C -35°C and at a relative humidity of between 35% -65%. If the product is stored at low temperature (below 15°C) it is advisable to condition in the workshop for 24 hours before use to prevent condensation.

Q: hi, I was wondering if anyone could suggest an adhesive more permanent than rubber cement. I am making a package and wanted to glue something onto the package for a friend. also, is there a difference in the level of adhesive-ness between rubber and paper cement? also, what's the difference between the one coat and two coat rubber cement?thanks in advanced,craftgoth420: I like Goop or wood glue. I think the 2-coat rubber cement may be the same as contact glue.

Q: I'm doing a small outdoor project and I need to stick some construction paper on to painted aluminum. I have some rubber cement from a craft store. Will this adhere to the metal and survive outdoor conditions of snow, wind, rain etc?: Nope. Contact cement would be better. But I don't think anything will last long out of doors. Even the paper will start to fall apart after the first rain or heavy dew. And the sun will also cause it to decompose. Paper does not do well outside. You may have to rethink your project.

Q: I just got a house built in the 1950's. I had a new washer/dryer installed and set up in the basement. When I ran the washer last night everything was running fine but when I looked in my backyard there was a lot of water gushing out of some kind of cement square in my patio in the backyard. It seems like this cement square can be lifted but I couldn't lift it to see what's going on in there. Any ideas?: The cement square might be the lid to a grease trap, septic tank, cesspool or dry well. Might even be covering a clean out for a municipal sewer line (doubtful). In any event it is not 'normal' for water to be coming from it when the washer drains...

Q: Price of laying cement?: the national average for placing formwork is about $0.95 per linear foot and the average for placing an finishing is about $0.40 per square foot. Concrete NOT included. So a 10' x 10' concrete slab would cost about $40 to form and about $40 to place and finish and would require about 3 cubic yards of concrete at about $100 per cubic yard. Most of the time there is a min. of 5 cu. yard purchase and a finishing company will have a min. charge of about $400 if the job is under 400 sq. ft. This is a ROUGH idea

Q: carpet padding on a cement floor whats good?: Cement floors absorb water from the earth below and if not done properly will result in a soaked carpet and padding (which effectively becomes a sponge). You need to waterproof the cement floor. There is a product that is skimmed/troweled onto the floor to waterproof it, but do not know the manufacturer or product name. (An alternative would be to put a vapor barrier down before the padding). You also need to use the right type of padding on concrete, or use adhesive to adhere your padding or else the carpet will need stretched again before too long. Also, the tack strip should be glued against the walls instead of nailed in, unlike on a wood floor where nails would be used. Tack strips with masonry nails ar OK (just don't use the nail ones for a wood sub-floor).

Q: based on the facts that acids and bases can burn skinwhy do you suppose that people that work with BOTH dry and wet cement should be cautios: The cement is somwhat caustic (not as bad as something like sodium hydroxide, but still able to damage skin on prolonged and/or repeated contact). Both the dry powder and the mixed cement can cause problems: the powder poofs everywhere when empting cement bags and during the initial stages of mixing. It can get inhaled and get on the skin. In both cases, there is moisture present from the body to react and form the semi-caustic mixture. In the case of the already mixed cement, when laying blocks, brick or using a cement pump etc, it is almost impossible to keep from getting splattered with the wet material. Since this type of construction work is often done day after day, a relatively modest amount of skin irritation/damage each day can have cumulative effects and really get to be a problem.
