AR GLASSFIBRE CHOPPED STRAND

AR GLASSFIBRE CHOPPED STRAND is a high integrity AR glassfibre chopped strand designed for use in dry mix systems or other

premixing processes for subsequent moulding into a GRC component.

This kind of chopped strand has a sizing system optimised for abrasion resistance and strand integrity during blending with dry materials .The low-tex strand permits efficient reinforcement at low dosages .It is particularly suited to the preparation of pre-bagged mixes of special mortars or renders .It may also be used in the manufacture by precasting of standard GRC components.

Q: tomorow we have an activity onquot;how to mix concretequot;in the mix is: cement, sand, gravel and water..we need to know the ratio of this 4 factorsbecause the usual mix that we know isone bag of cement is to 2 cubic foot of sand and gravel...but the question is if wer going to use only 15% of cementwats the ratio with regards to gravel and sand and water
try okorder sometimes I ask math questions there
Q: I am planning to build a wooden wall in my crawlspace. It is a large, dry space and would be great for storage. The wall would be about 6ft x 32ft and would run along the inside of the cement foundation. Can I attach it to the cement foundation or to the wooden beams running along the top? Or does that cause weakening of the foundation or other problems. If I can't, does anyone know a good way to make the wall sturdy without attaching it to anything (I just want to attach some peg board and shelving to it). Thanks for any advice!
Wood against the cement wall is not a good idea. Moisture from the ground usually seeps in through concrete, and evaporate from the floor. and the wood will soak it up, grow moldy and rot. If you are planning to use it for storage the best course of action would be to encapsulate it instead. That means lining the whole crawl space, floor and walls with a 20mil poly sheet (like a pool liner) specially developed for this purpose, and then install a conditioning system to blow air from the upstairs into the crawl, keeping it dry. Besides protecting your crawl space and stored items from moisture, termites etc... encapsulation makes your whole house at least 18% more energy efficient. It is recommended by the US Department of Energy's Building America as Best Practice. I am adding the link to Advanced Energy website. There you will find videos explaining the process and a ton of studies conducted by them on crawl spaces, as well as to another website about Crawl Spaces.
Q: I'm doing a small outdoor project and I need to stick some construction paper on to painted aluminum. I have some rubber cement from a craft store. Will this adhere to the metal and survive outdoor conditions of snow, wind, rain etc?
Nope. Contact cement would be better. But I don't think anything will last long out of doors. Even the paper will start to fall apart after the first rain or heavy dew. And the sun will also cause it to decompose. Paper does not do well outside. You may have to rethink your project.
Q: What is the formula of cement?
Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to this question, as there are many different types of cement that vary in the compounds they consist of. But, as an example, here's a breakdown of the chemical formulas used in portland cement. It consists of five compounds as listed below. 50% - Tricalcium silicate - Ca3SiO5 or 3CaO.SiO2 25% - Dicalcium silicate - Ca2SiO4 or 2CaO.SiO2 10% - Tricalcium aluminate - Ca3Al2O6 or 3CaO .Al2O3 10% - Tetracalcium aluminoferrite - Ca4Al2Fe2O10 or 4CaO.Al2O3.Fe2O3 5% - Gypsum - CaSO4.2H2O Hope this gets you started. Good luck.
Q: when the dentist put the crown on to check to fit, he couldnt remove it to put the cement, if he did he said it'd break.it doesnt seem loose but when i bite i canfeel something happening under the crown. and when i bite down on my tongue it causes a foul odor in my mouth. im scarred :/
To be blunt you need to make an appointment with a dentist (maybe a new one) Under no circumstance should a permanent crown be placed w/ no cement. The cement doesnt just keep the crown in place but it also seals off the tooth from infection that can be caused from outside sources. From the sounds of it, your tooth is most likely infected now. In the meantime be sure to brush, gloss, use mouth wash Sorry this happened @aspca no offense, im aware that every dentist has thier own technique; however, going by the book you arent suppose to since it can cause health concerns.
Q: what would happen if someone where you flush cement down the toilet? And should I do it?
wet cement has to have the proper water content and as soon as it hits the water it will dilute and then just turn into a useless soup so it wouldn't work unless you mixed it in the bowl in which case it wouldn't flush
Q: how do we calculate how much we need and how is it done
I do not know how you will keep it from settling but as to the volume 2 = .166 ft average height is 10' = 5/6 = .833 ft I assume a steady slope so I use average thickness 22.166 x 360.166 x .833 = 6,650.2 cu ft = 246.3 cu yds
Q: I have leaky rod holes in my basement. I just bought hydraulic cement (King Plug-Tite) and I just want to know what I have to do to patch the hole. Do I need to fill the entire gap (depth) ? The label says to force the product into the opening with the palm of the hand. Can I do that a couple of time (stuff the product in the hole) before it sets?
Hydraulic cement expands, thats why it says to push it in with your palm. This gives it a firm, even pressure. You have a little time before it sets.
Q: I have an old concrete brick structure with cement floor, with high tin roof all in good shape. I would like to add a restroom in it. How can I securely build a wall? It's my first time trying this type of project, so I was wondering if I have to break up the floor to anchor the wall. Thank you.
It all depends on the builder, and the part of the country. Where there is cold weather in the winter, you will find houses built with better insulation Whether or not a house has brick on the outside, is up to the builder, and often the buyer. If he orders it as a trim, the price is raised by the builder. Many homes are built with a stucco exterior. I have found them in California, Florida, and Texas.. and Arizona. It holds up to the element of heat, better than wood siding. All brick homes are well known in Texas. They serve to insulate the houses there, and holds in the coolness. All homes have air conditioning there. Swamp coolers are refrigeration with a water hose that makes a cooling breeze. Just the same, but the cost is much less than an A/C unit. So brick houses are not the commono dwelling, and where you find them, they are usually much more expensive that a wooden shake and shingle home.
Q: Portland cement
I hate to link to Wikipedia, but a proper answer is rather complex and the article there is actually rather complete and accurate.
