- Q: dimension of a standard cement bag?
- Standard cement bags come in 60lb. and 90lb. bags. If you are trying to figure out how much you'll need for a project you gotta do some figurin'. I guess thats what your asking. Here's a tip: When you got it figured out, you'll probably need about 20% more. Don't know why, Murphy's law I guess. It's easyer to return what you don't use than to run to the store and mix up some more. Anyway's look at the bag and it will tell you the volume. get your dementions you need and bring a calculator and pencil to the store, I'm sure you'll figure it out.

- cement is neither good nor bad in the environment making it gives off C02, using it takes the C02 Back CaCo3 + heat= CaO + C02 (cement) CaO + H20 + C02 = CaC03 (concrete) Planting lots of trees takes C02 out of the atmosphere

- Q: I used it to patch cracks and divots in old concrete driveway and it is not cement color but a dark gray. Didn't see that coming! Is there anything I can do to lighten it?
- Don't let those others lead you astray. Unless you can mix the patching concrete to the exact same formula as the original mix, you will get color variation. Methinks we may have been a little overzealous with the cement in the patching batch, yes? If you have put more cement into it than the original lot, then, alas, your patches WILL be darker than the rest. Ain't Mother Nature amazing!

- First of all it is concrete not cement and second of all it doesn't dry, it cures. It is a chemical reaction, it does not just simply dry out like mud brick. Given that, there are too many variables to take into account, thickness, environmental conditions, the exact formula of the concrete mix, etc.
- Q: I'm building a bike stand out of PVC pipe and I'm using CPVC cement... I've heard that you can use CPVC cement on both CPVC and PVC (since CPVC is harder to melt), but not PVC cement on CPVC pipe.Ideas?
- Your just fine using CPVC cement on PVC, especially on a bike stand. The only time it would make a diiference is when you are actually using it for water pressure. CPVC is used for water supply, under pressure, to your faucets and so on. It's formulated for drinking water where as PVC is not, either way, for what your doing, either cement would work...
- Q: How can I stop my home entrance stairs from squeeking? It consists of wood rails with cement steps.?
- The cement treads can move slightly within the wooden railings, so, either tighten (very) the bolts holding the concrete to the rails, or spray a minute amount of silicon around the bolts ... Kindest John
