- Q: I am starting a project and I would really just like to know the properties of rubber cement. If you put it in mold and left it to dry would it be flexible or stiff or would it even retain that formation? Would it then break easily? I know it seems like a stupid question, but I really have no experience with the stuff. Please help, thanks.
- look under the large category called MAKING MOLDS YOURSELF--many of those materials can be used to make molds themselves, or to make casts in molds .
- Q: How long till rubber cement sets?
- Rubber cement is actually rubber in a solvent. As the solvent evaporates out, the rubber thickens more and more until it is hard. So, it varies, according to how much of the rubber cement is exposed to air so the solvent can evaporate. It works so well on paper and other things like paper because paper is porous. The paper is like nothing is there to prevent the solvent from evaporating. It will take forever to cement hard plastic since plastic is not porous and the solvent can only get out at the small edges that are uncovered. Nail polish is the same kind of dissolved solid, that hardens as the solvent evaporates out. In nail polish, the solvent is acetone, which is what is mainly in nail polish remover. Rubber cement also has a thinner available for when your can of rubber cement gets too thick.
- Q: For a science projekt i need to use a material that is stronger than plaster but not to heavy like cement or if u know a brand of plaster that is really strong or vice versa with cement please tell me. it would be great If the cost is less than 50 dollars for 10kg than
- Aerate the cement and it should hold most of its structural integrity as well as reduce the overall mass.
- Q: The molars are the ones that hurt, my braces dont hurt as much now. I can't bite down on anything because of the ketac cement they placed on my rigth and left top molar. Is this normal, will the pain ever go away so that I can chew my food. I can't chew on anything. I got my braces on a Friday and it's Tuesday and the cement still hurts.
- I had cement put on molars too, to stop top and bottom brackets clashing. Are you definitely sure it's the cement which hurts, because it's not meant to? And chewing, despite feeling no pain, will be quite hard, that won't go away until the cement is removed. Edit: Not to sound a little big-headed, but I think it's purely because the brace is doing its work. Your back teeth, molars especially, hurt a lot longer than the other teeth. I've had top and bottom braces, and in both instances, the back, bigger teeth have hurt for a good week longer than the rest. I'd advise you sit it out till this Sunday. If the pain continues, or hasn't softened, I'd seek help then. But I have honestly found that big back teeth hurt especially more.
- Q: my maryland bridge fell out yesterday. the dentist wont be open till monday. its one of my front teeth. is there something i can use to temporarily cement it back in with.
- Unfortunately, there are no temporary cements that will hold a Maryland bridge in place. You will have to see a dentist to have it re-cemented. There is a protocol that needs to be followed for cementation of a Maryland bridge and only your dentist has the proper products that are needed to bond the bridge back into place. If you call the office and explain your situation to the answering service or call the number left for emergency patients--the doctor will get the message and will usually meet you at the office even during weekend hours.

- I've only tried it once. I prefer cocaine.
- Q: Looking for ideas on pouring a cement bartop?
- Buy one of those How-To books at the front of Lowe's or Home Despot.
- Q: What is the professional terminology?
- If the winning slab is in solid situation and particularly even the least complicated way is a product waiting made and available from ceramic tiling providers. It is provided in a powder style to mixture with water or premixed in 5-10 gallon buckets. the further earnings of utilising those is that have an elastic high quality that minimises cracking via enlargement of the underlying slab. Ceramacrete is one which includes innovations yet any tile enterprise would be attentive to what you decide on.
- Q: I'm looking for a good glue for paper to glass. Contact cement or any suggestions?
- Contact cement stays the same color when dry as it is in the tube or can. Superglue (Cyanoacrylate) dries clear.
- Q: My aviary just has dirt on the bottom late today i noticed a mouse hole!!What would be the best material to put in the bottom? Rocks? Cement etc. Also, My bird ( galah ) never goes to the bottom of the cage, what is a good way to get her to do this?
- From personal experience I would stick with cement and/or large rocks. The cement would be easier to clean. We rescued a cockatoo that was taken from his home because he got very sick from ingesting sand and small gravel. The owners couldn't afford the medical bills needed to treat the bird. It may be fun for them to scratch around in sand/gravel, but if you're not sure how your bird will react (i.e. if he/she will not eat it/play with it), then I wouldn't use it. I wouldn't take the risk after seeing what can happen. Wood shavings can be dangerous if not well maintained. They rot and attract bacteria. If you live in a humid climate I would think this would only be worsened. And, as for wanting your bird to be on the bottom of the cage, until you can get the aviary well sealed, I wouldn't even try. Rodents carry diseases. Once it's sealed though, an old phone book to shred or some yummy treats placed on the bottom shoudl do the trick.
