- Try to dampen the area and then brush up with a hair brush. Having had your furniture in place for such a long time it's likely there will always be an indentation there. I've seen some, good quality carpets, recover if the pile is thick enough. Hope this helps in some way.
- Q: I want to buy this shortsale house that has carpet that animals have used the bathroom on. The carpet is not worn and is a very expensive type. I was thinking that if I removed the carpet, set it up on saw horses in the back yard, and cleaned it using a mixture of bleach water and a pressure washer. I would then let it dry completely, spray it down with febreeze and then reinstall it in the house using new padding. Does anyone have any experience doing something like this? I did the same thing to my truck carpet but I know that was probably a little different.
- My favorite method for cleaning carpets involves renting a carpet machine for the weekend, NOT buying the cleaner that they offer, and instead using lemon scented ammonia and plain vinegar with hot water in the cleaning machine. This is a very clean rinsing formula that will cut grime and pet odors without damaging the carpet. New padding is a must but you can clean the carpets and then pull them outside to dry while you replace the padding and mop the underfloor with the sudsy ammonia and vinegar mix. 2 cups ammonia 2 cups vinegar 1 full tank of hot water on the carpet machine Please remember! Keep all bleach and bleaching products away from the ammonia! Once the carpets and floor are dry the ammonia is dispersed and you will not have to worry about a negative chemical reaction in the future.

- My neighbor did that. She bought a box of 94 Crayola crayons and experiment with them until she found a color that matched. She then colored in the spot on the carpet. You have to redo every now and then but it worked. Next time you spill something on the carpet, try using table salt. Just pour it on, let it absorb the wet spot and most of the color will come up. Do not wipe it up just vacuum it up, while it's wet. If the stain is still there do it again. I had to do mine about 3 times but it is hardly noticeable now. My carpet is light tan and the spot was berry red. The spot now is a very, very, pale pink and gets lighter every time I clean it. There is also a cleaner call Krud be gone and Goo gone that may work.

- molded floor carpet should just lay down maybe some spray trim adhesive for the jute backing. but only a little. I prefer 3M brand at auto supply stores

- I've seen them advertised in the UK but off hand can't remember where - Rideway? Derby House? IIRC they are expensive. You could probably use three equivalent rugs and pay less for them but they wouldn't match prettily. Depends whether you want economy or looks. On the basis that two or three thin layers are warmer than one thick one they should be a good idea. However, I don't have direct experience of this 3 in 1 rug. I've been at it for long enough to prefer economy as long as the performance is satisfactory. Along with others at the yard I use a Morrison's First Home duvet as an under layer indoors when it's very cold.
- Q: Hello, my cat keeps peeing on the rug in the laundry room. My mom has to wash the rug daily becasue she pees on it during the day. The rug is bigger with a rubber bottom,is that the problem? - Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. - Q: I have this OLD area rug from my grandmother. The pattern is beautiful and the rug itself is is good condition, however I'd like to brighten it up! -Especially the white areas which have now gone yellow. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean/treat this rug and restore/brighten it without damaging it with harsh chemicals, like bleach?
- I would reccomend taking it to a professional antique restorer. It would suck to mess up something that is that important to you. Also, the dyes may be natural-made dyes, and might be damaged if you used chemicals on it.
- Q: How do you get nail polish out of carpet?
- nail polish remover will just eat it up , it melts I just found this out the hard way I finally just took little scissors and cut the carpet pile down. good luck
