I am trying to fugure out how to create a flexable seem out of a sheet of plastic. For example if you had a 12x12 sheet of plastic 1/16 thick and you wanted to fold it in half to create two 6x12 flaps. How would you create a seem at the fold that could be easly folded and unfolded repeatedly for a long duration?
You could do this with a living hinge. Co-extrude the plastic profile with rigid plastic connected with the flexible plastic living hinge. Long duration needs to defined.
Which is better, the aluminum pinch plate and the PVC pinch plate?
1, with excellent corrosion resistance, to resist a variety of soot, damp environment, anti ultraviolet.2, environmental protection, non-toxic, tasteless, anti-static, dust free, easy to wash, high hardness, fire, non stick stains.3, low cost, longer service life, and not easy to aging, subsidence, discoloration, deformation.4, high grade, and tiles, bathroom, kitchen cabinets easily form a unified style.
I can't think of the name of this material at the moment and have searched the net to no avail so far. They are made to look like tiles/slates but come in sheets measuring about 8x4 ft. They are light by comparison with the real thing and would suit the roof I need to cover. Can anyone refer me to a website dealing with them or give me any details as to how they are installed? Thanks for the info!!!
4' x 8' plywood is often used to 'sheath' a roof. Corrugated metal or fiberglass/plastic has been used to cover roofs and they can come in 4 x 8 sheets I don't believe the fiberglass/plastic, or that formica, (which is what I think you mean by 'plastic tiles/slates) will satisfy most fire codes.
imagine with mei want one side to be plastic to see whats happening insideand the other 3 sides is iron sheetits a straight duct ,,, no anglesvolume of the duct = 0.35 x 0.35 x 2.5a professor told that the best thickness for plastic side is 3mmand the iron sheet is 0.6mmis that right??if it is wrong tell me the best thickness for both??
would increase the thickness
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to warping from cold temperatures.
In my 8th grade art class my teacher had us do a project that involved contrast. We had to use this type of paper and cut out parts of the white so that the black would show through and there would be contrast between the full white and full black areas. I can't remember the name of it and would like to get some for hobby purposes. It was a black sheet of something that was sort of plastic-like and was somewhat reflexive. Then directly on top of that was a sheet of normal paper stuck to the black sheet. If anyone could tell me the name of this paper that would be great. Also if there are any common stores that I could get it at. Maybe Michaels?

I was shopping around online and found this product that they call a dust jacket protector. But I was wondering what store like Wal-Mart or Target could I buy something similar to the dust jacket protector AND what would that be called?
It is called a drop cloth. They come in different weights of plastic. For a dust jacket you would want a fairly heavy (thick) one. Wal-mart has some as do MOST paint stores.
I'm looking to get my hands on some sheets of kydex to use for making my own custom gun holsters (or attempt to make some). I'd rather not have to order them off the web. I live in northern indiana and haven't been able to find anything around but my search hasn't gone on to long. If any body knows anything that would be great.
You should be able to get KYDEX(r) sheet from an authorized distributor of plastic sheet, rod, and tubing in Indiana.
