Q: I need a 3.5mm 5V DC power cable with a USB input. I do not want to order one online. What store would sell this? I already went to Best Buy and Radioshack.
Sorry okorder / You will be fine and wont be scammed. OKorder is a possibility but its a tad sketchy but its easy to use and not get again scammed but its your choice ofc i don't know the situation your in. im just guessing your worried about ordering online due to scamm websites, it could be that you simply don't have a card that can shop online (or even a card). Also delivery should be fairly quick (most being a week) so you won't be waiting too long either way. Turtle beach is based online, and distribute mainly from their website,(such is most designer accessories) the only reason they have their products in stores are because of their success online, and were able to expand but even then they only ever sell a few of their headsets in stores never their full range, then expecting parts is very rare. p.s i realise its a generic piece of equipment but its quite specific and there are very few things that use somthing that you've specified (not the sized and volt just a DC power cable that has a USB input) , that includes headsets, seriously most headsets don't require a power cable (and it having a power cable doesn't make it good) Hope this helps :S
Q: Since desktop UPS is ment more for desktop computers, i need UPS to laptop power conversion cable so i will be able to connect desktop UPS to my laptop.
you can use a plug point from the ups and then from it you can connect it with the lap.. but, i dono why you need ups for your laptop!!!!!
Q: What does the cable (YJV-5 * 6) mean?
ZR-flame retardant Y-polyethylene J-crosslinked V-PVC sheathed YJV is copper core, YJLV is expressed as aluminum core, where L is aluminum. 22 indicates the type of armor armor, and 32. So the full name is: flame retardant copper conductor cross-linked polyethylene insulated PVC sheathed power cable 4 * 16 that there are a total of four copper wire, which each cross-sectional area of 16 square millimeters
Q: Hey! I bought a new sound system for my truck including 4 new speakers, a sub, a 5-channel amp, and I'm running all new wiring. So far I've got the 3 RCA cables ran, along with the blue remote turn-on wire along the right side of my truck. I plan to run the Power wire down the left side and then to my amp.I've heard that you put the power wire and RCA cables on different sides, which is what I've done, but is it ok for my speaker wires to be run beside or close to the power wire(4-gauge fyi)? For example, the right side speaker wires wont be near it, but the left side speaker wires will be...Will this cause any weird noise from my speakers?I don't have the names/etc of all my gear right in front of me, but if u rly need it, I will quot;add detailsfor you! Thanks!!
Well....That is determined by how colossal the amp is. An extension wire has either 2 or three wires inside of at someplace between sixteen and 12 gauge wire. You could twist the entire conductors together and be excellent up to about 40 amps with three 12 gauge wires. The quandary with amplifiers is current no longer voltage. The thicker the wire the more present it will handle. Most any wire you purchase is rated as a minimum 120V. Check what dimension fuse the amp requires, whether it is more than 30 to forty amps i would purchase the correct size single wire for the amp. Also, fuse the wire at the battery. Fire is just not our pal. :)
Q: I have a Karcher power washer which was left outside over night. An animal chewed threw the power cable and so is unusable. I was wondering how to re-connect the power cord together, safely. I do not want to cross wires and use electrical tape. I was thinking of using a connector, but unsure of whether to use a two pinned or three pinned connector.
You can install a plug on the cord to replace the one that was chewed off. Choose one with the same number of prongs as the cord has wires (2 or 3). Be sure to attach each wire to the correct terminal! Splicing the cord is also OK, and tape would not be a problem if applied properly, but I prefer to use heat-shrink tubing. When I do a top-grade splice, I first twist the wires tightly together without making a tail, then I solder them.
Q: I need to select a power cord for a computer and other appliances (like a printer). Power cords usually have their amps and voltage (capacities?) imprinted on the outside. What is the rule of thumb for selecting a power cord and why?For example, if my printer has the following requirements:Power Source AC 120V 50/60 HzPower Consumption - 5W-350WWhat amp/voltage type of power cord will do the job?I am of course concerned about overloading the cord with too much electric requirements.(People who actually know this matter SPECIFICALLY only need to reply; please excuse if the electric language is not used right.)
The power cables themselves don't have much bearing on Power Source AC 120V 50/60 Hz (Your typical household outlet) You couldn't acciddentally plug it into a 220 line anyway. Power Consumption - 5W-350w -- How many watts of power it draws from the socket. Typically the thicker guaged wire is better to use, as it has less impedance or so I've been told.
Q: I was replacing the hard drive of my desktop computer but now I don't know where the cable [see picture] fits. it obviously goes somewhere since the computer does not turn on now. The Hard Drive is SATA if relevant. Thank you!
That's the main power connector for the motherboard. It probably plugs into that white socket behind it on the board, but check the motherboard manual to make sure you put it in the right place. It's pretty hard to plug things into the wrong place most of the time, but check to be sure.
Q: can you use a standard molex power cable on a SATA HD or do you have to use a SATA power cable to power it?
depends on the drive.. sometimes a drive will have a 4 pin molex and a SATA power plug.. most newer drives will be SATA only though
Q: I just bought a new computer, a DELL Inspiron 530. It has none of the older 4-pin power cables from the power supply; only the newer SATA power devices. I have an older hard drive, that connects via IDE cables (the gray ribbon). Ive already bought the card that converts the IDE to SATA, and it is connected to the mother board. Here is the problem: the IDE Hard Drive is powered with the 4-pin power supply that Ive seen on EVERY power supply before this one. The IDE to SATA converter came with an extension for that 4-pin power supply. But the power supply in the tower DOESNT HAVE ANY 4-PIN POWER ADAPTERS. It has one free SATA power. Im looking to take the SATA power from my power supply, convert it to the old-style IDE 4-pin power supply (female) and plug it into the 4-pin extension (male) that powers my hard drive and SATA-IDE converter. Most converters go the other way... Please post links with examples of parts, since I cannot find anything that lets me do what I am looking to
I okorder . okorder /
Q: what is the difference in applications between single and multicore power cables?
Multi-core power cables are useful any time you're carrying a circuit in and out of an appliance at the same location. Usually that's just 2 plus an optional ground. For electronic devices with specialized power requirements, there may be several power lines in the cable carrying different voltages. Single-core power cables are especially useful in high amperage appliances, such as welding equipment, and in DC automotive wiring in which the chassis serves as the ground. Thick cables for high amperage are hard enough to manage and wire without being bundled into a multi-core monster. It also makes sense to use single core cables with a ground chassis so that you only have to run one wire, and just complete the circuit to ground at the point of use. Single-core power cables can also be useful in serial or parallel wired appliances, or power supplies, such as a string of lights, or an array of batteries.
