- Q: and also why dont railroad cars have have them either? Their wheels are solid
- Boxpok wheels were invented primarily for use with steam locomotives, where there was a need to save weight: examples from 'this side of the pond' were O.V.S. Bullied's 4-6-2s, Q1 class 0-6-0s and his infamous 'Leader' 0-6-6-0T for the Southern Railway in Britain, and the US-built 141R 2-8-2s for the French National Railways. These wheels were steel pressings, and were more expensive to manufacture than conventional spoked wheels. Modern locomotives and rolling stock use solid plain disc wheels: the easiest to manufacture with modern materials and methods.
- Q: my male hamster is always on his wheel.
- i doubt your hamster is addicted to his wheel as much as mine. I got my hamster a critter trail cage with what is supposed to be a silent wheel, and its closed around, not like a regular wheel and when i first got this it was just used as a wheel and he slept in his little house, but now he figured to bring bedding up there and food and it is definitely not silent anymore. he sleeps in there as well as goes to the bathroom which is gross but when i tried giving him a different wheel he just freaked out ughhh lol
- Q: my rear wheel has a spoke missing and 2 other spokes are broken. how safe is this to ride untill my new wheel comes?
- I will now answer your question, and it will make sense.unlike ^his^ I have had this happen to me, and the spokes ended up working their way through my tire tube, It also bent my rim. So i would recommend that you take your wheel off, and get it fixed at any motorbike store/tire place. If you continue to ride with broken/missing spokes, you will come across a lot of problems in the future.
- Q: ur bearing are super fast.does it really matter about ur wheels?
- I'm not sure what you mean by your wheels suck. Are they too slow, coned out, have flat spots. If your wheel have some physical defects in them, like fat spots or chips, or coning, then it will slow you down and make the ride uncomfortable. You just may have the wrong wheels for your skating type. Bigger wheels go faster and can go over obstacles better, but are harder to do flip tricks. Harder wheels go faster, buy you have less control. Softer wheels grip on turns or in bowls and provide a more comfortable ride, but are slower.
- Q: My gerbils destroyed their plastic wheel (I have 2 gerbils) and my dad said not to get another one. However, I want to get them a wheel so how can I make sure they won‘t bite it. (There are no metal wheels around where I live)PS. Putting cardboard tubes in the cage doesn‘t help, they just bite both!
- If you can't get a metal wheel, then get some Bitter Apple type spray and spray the wheel. It makes it taste bad, so they should not chew it, but they can still use it. Maybe if you keep looking you will find a metal wheel; I personally prefer them for this reason; they don't get chewed up. Also, the metal wheels let the urine and feces drop through to the ground, so they are cleaner than plastic ones. A running wheel is important fro pet rodents, as they work off their anxieties and get good exercise this way.
- Q: I am planning on getting new wheels for the car, and I have a couple questions about the offset as I do not understand it 100%So the current offset of my stock wheels are at +37If I get new wheels and the offset is 20, how would that make a difference on the appearance/handling.Will it make the wheels stick out more or go in more? And would hub centric wheel spacers be recommended to make up for the difference? Would the handling be worse on the car? Thanks for your help!
- If you were to replace ET37 with ET20, assuming they are the same width rim/tire, the wheel will stick OUT by 17 millimeters. I would guess this will be too aggressive and stick out of your wheel well and most likely rub against the fender. Forget about spacers with this setup as it would be counter-intuitive. If the new wheels are wider, it will stick out even further. If the new wheels are thinner, then it might mitigate the difference but this is unlikely since ET20 wheels typically come on aggressive looking cars like the M3 and would definitely be a wider wheel. If you were to go the other way, ie. ET44, then you would want 7 mm spacers (in this example) to offset the difference and reduce the tucked look, again assuming same width. As for handling, having your wheels further out makes the car a bit more stable, and looks much better in my opinion. My car is oem ET31 and I have ET47 winter rims, implying they're tucked in 16mm compared to stock. I didn't use spacers last winter, I thought it handled just fine, could barely notice any difference in both city and highway driving. However, they looked strange from behind due to the offsets. Hope this helps you understand offsets a bit better. I would look for a similar offset and avoid spacers altogether if possible. Good luck!
- Q: Force analysis of the precession of the wheeled gyroscope
- You can ask your friends online friends, they will be more sincere and enthusiastic for you to find the answer, and even to the relevant site to search directly.
- Q: broken freewheel pawls in rear hubs of mavic es bicycle wheels
- you wouldnt experience a 25 im a tire changer have been 35 yrs swap a front tire to rear and spot if it transformations way it rides if it does then get a clean tire or a wheel and achieveable save could have bent brake rotor do a highway tension stability superb you will get swap a tire from front to rear to discover which tirecontinual slow no gasoline assessments for a nasty wheel or tire and if as quickly as you turn tires to rear and stil experience it maximum possibly bent brake rotor
- Q: Or are they just the same thing? Also, as a secondary question, is it relatively difficult to change wheel bearings in front wheel drive Ford Focus?
- get the 17. this means that the wheel diameter is larger, this is pretty much up to you, wether you like small or large wheels. I personally like the larger wheels. I have 18 on my GTI MkV, and think at times I should have gone with 19. I would say 17 is the better option. It will also be a litter quicker, but may highten the ride by a little. 18 would be about the biggest size for your mini cooper. When selecting the tires. try to keep it at the same width to avoid the body from hitting the tire.
- Q: A wheel has radius 10cm and it is coupled by a belt to another wheel of radius 30cm. The smaller wheel increases its speed from rest at uniform rate of π rad/s^2. The time after which the speed of larger wheel becomes 1000 rpm is…………………??
- problematic task. query over google. that will may help!
