- Frist i would remobe the axle and bearing clean them up, and instect for damage. If tyhey are o.k. pack with wheel bearing grease and re-install. Tighten down untill the wheel begind to drag, back off untill cotter key hole will line up , with wheel spinning freely.

- Q: So I just got my car back from the shop. 3 months ago the deal told me the rear axel was leaking grease. I took it to a mechanic (hoping for a cheaper price) and told him what was wrong. My car would squeak on occasion and one night as I was driving I heard a metal on metal scraping noise. I figured it was the lack of grease in the rear axel so I decided to get it looked at. The mechanic said I was fine on my rear axel but replaced the seals on my transmission. I started hearing the same noise again today as I was going to park it. I‘m thinking it might be the wheel bearing but I‘m not sure. If they were going bad, would they always make the noise? I drove it around quite a bit in between hearing the sound. Help!
- The wheel bearings make a grinding noise when they go bad. You can check the wheels by lifting the car and trying to move the wheels back and forth, not around. If you notice any movement the bearing is bad.

- Handling, front wheel drives tend to under steer rear wheel over steer. You put the power down at different parts of turns/corners. RW pushes, Front W pulls, both have their fans but there is some universal agreement on which is better for different types of motor sport and for economy you will probably always be more fuel efficient not having to drag around a rear wheel drive power train/differential etc. 4 wheel drive will always be better off road/in snow/rallies since they figured out how to make 4 wheel drive steering work well but it will use more juice too

- There are dmr revolver wheels on dreamcycles .uk for ?100 or just the front wheel for ?55 they come in 24 as you require, i don't know if they are 1.50s but if you can stretch your budget to ?80 then you can get a halo SAS front wheel. If you are not however planning on extreme riding then my advice is to go to your local halfords and they will have some cheap wheels knocking about!
