Q: I'm thinking of the power cables that connect houses to the national grid in the UK. Not only do they appear to be the green colour of copper in full sunlight, but this colour isn't evenly spread. In places there is still black. What causes this, as it's presumably not exposed copper or the colour would always be apparent?: This could simply be moss / lichen or fungus growing. the north side of the cable will have more moss on it than the south side. As the sun is over the equator and England is in the Northern Hemisphere so the sun lights the south side of the cable, and the moss grows on the darker side. This is a classic way of telling directions in a forest or paddock. Garret

Q: ill exlplain more the battery is connected to one end of the fuse then i want to run 2 power cables out of the other end to both of the amps will tis work or will i just loose power the fuse is 60A if that helps. 60A is massive why a fuse that big is needed i dont no: You will need to run a wire to each amp using a fused distrobution block as mentioned. A 60 amp fuse isn't really that big for car audio. Some amps can pull 80 amperes. This fuse is really only there to protect the power wire from being shorted.

Don't do that - I got a hard drive in for repair recently where someone did that - she said it fitted so I thought it would be ok, it's got loads of data I need on that drive can you recover it? I was like - not any more I can't. 20v will blow the hard drive. If the PSU has gone on your external drive your best solution is to take the screws out of the external hard drive casing and open it up. You will find inside you have just a standard SATA hard drive.

A new amp will have a specification for the input sensitivity. This is how many volts from the source will drive it. The line level output from your head and line level inputs on the amp should work. Line level outputs will probably not drive speaker level inputs on an amp very well.
