- it will work but because the amp has more power than the speaker can handle it will blow the speaker if you turn it up much, the speaker should be rated for more or equal to the power output of the amp. the ohm rating of the amp should always be less than or equal to the speaker. 4ohm amp-4ohm or more speaker, 8ohm amp-8ohm or more speaker. never hook a speaker with less ohms than the amps rated ohms or you will blow the amp.8ohm amp + 4ohm speakerblown amp

- I have done similar to what you are doing, though I am not quite sure what parts you are using. Hopefully what I have done might show you something different. I got 2 parts, 1st is the link to Amazon, where you find the 3.5mm to RCA Stereo Female Cable. The second is RCA To Speaker Wire Plugs. Those two together worked for me, and if you have the male cables for both, you can always get a connector, though I know that an additional component would add more impedance, thus lowering the connectivity and performance. Have you tried hooking up your setup to an external source such as MP3 player? The problem might not be in the wiring, but the computer jack not having enough power to drive your speakers especially if they were used to hook up to an amplifier. If the speakers are indeed powered stereo speakers, you might have to do a AUX line-in to a stereo that is powerful enough to drive your speakers.

- It depends on what your looking forare you looking for a home theater set up or is this for you car? Bose is a quality brand but spends a LOT of their money on marketing and due to this has declined in quality. I'm nto saying they aren't good speakers, they are very small and produce a good amount of sound. However, Onkyo and Yamaha are better speakers for the money (in my opinion). CNET gives good reviews on products like speakers, check it out and read around. I'm looking at buying the onkyo home theater in a box (sr600) right now.

- You can use after-market speakers with the stock deck. I don't think you have 6x9 speakers in the rear, though; most Civics use 6-1/2 speakers on the rear deck. Even then, the stock speaker is very, very shallow; you'll need to use a spacer bracket to fit most after-market speakers in the same space.

- On a system that has a center channel speaker (3.1 or 5.1), most of the voices come from the center channel. This gives the illusion that the voices are coming from the people speaking in front of you instead of from the sides. A system that has no center channel will have the voices coming from the sides. Only you can decide how accurate you want your sound. Therefore, only you can decide how important the center channel is.

- Use the stereo receiver that came with the speakers. Get a minijack-to-component audio adepter and connect the component (red/white) audio cables to your receiver's line in jacks. Then set your receiver to that channel. The receiver should have an integral amplifier that will provide ample power to the speakers.
