- Q: I have a couple of speakers that came with a Sony HI-FI system I bought. The model is CMT-GPZ7. The two speakers that accompany this system are not magnetically shielded (it says so in the instruction manual). Still, I would like to put these two speakers by my CRT monitor.The question is: if I put the non-magnetically shielded speakers by the CRT monitor, will this damage the monitor? Will it damage the speakers? Or both?I don't want to risk damaging any of my hardware.Thank you for your answers.
- Never heard of a loudspeaker without a magnet. I wonder where you read about that? Computer 'speakers are shielded because otherwise the field could distort the on-screen image in c.r.t. displays (which use magnetic deflection.)

- Rockford Fosgate Punch 400-Watt Multi-Channel Amplifier is a excellent amp. rockford test's every amp they sell and record the numbers then put them in the box with the amp. The P4004 is rated at 50 watts x 4 at 4 ohms, the one i recieved was shown to put out 93 watts x 4 at 4 ohms. this amp is extremely quiet, you hear nothing when in between songs. the P4004 is combined with an Alpine CDA 9885 reciever, a beautiful combo. the rockford really impressed me, I highly recomend it.

- the reason your speakers aren't very loud is because the cd player's headphone jack isn't amplified. the only way to get your music loud enough without speakers that dont use batteries or wall jack would be to use speakers with low ohms, but that would burn out your cd player's headphone jack real quick like.

- Probably not. Normally speakers either work, or they don't (or they sound crackly if their blown). The amplifier (along with the volume knob of course) is what determines how loud your speakers get. If the speakers plug in to an impedance matching output, and you've plugged/attached them incorrectly, that could also affect the volume. Also, make sure that you don't have any frayed speaker wires touching each other. This could short out the volume, and make them sound real soft.
- Q: Does each speaker HAVE to be on its own channel or can you run a set of speakers on a single channel?
- you could run a set of speakers on one channel but you will not be getting the full potential of that output for that one channel, you would be better off putting one speaker on one channel.
- Q: Every time i listen to music or watch a video on my computer, the speakers will suddenly make a loud noise and cut out any other audio. Its hard to explain the sound it makes but it sounds kind of like a choppy horn going. It only lasts for a split second, but no matter what i do, how loud it is, it will keep doing this, around every 10 seconds or so. I know for a fact that it is not because of the speakers.(it happend with my last ones too) Also, im not sure if this is the same problem or not, but i cant watch any videos using Windows Media Player. - Buy new speakers. or in the bottom right corner of your computer click the picture of a speaker and ajust it you could have just blew your speaker

- I think this is due to the volume u set it on, if u put the volume to the max it can distort the speakers, try it wen the volume is low or get more powerful speakers (watts)

- Monitor speakers are for your ears only so you can hear what you are doing, loudspeakers are another name for speakers, 2 way speakers are those with a woofer and a tweeter. these are not the most efficient, but they sound good for compact bookshelf speakers. would'nt use them for DJ'ing though, too much distortion at high volumes. PA speakers are Public Address. These are the type found in your high school intercom system, good for voice but lousy for music and terrible with base tones. Hope that helped some.
