- Q: I'm building another computer to give to someone, i have all the parts and when it got down to installing the CD drive and the Hard drive i plugged the sata cables into the motherboard but when i looked to install them to the power supply mine did not have any of those cables. I had spare cables from my other power supply but they require you to plug them into the power supply but since the other power supply is older it doesn't work. I was wondering if i could get cables that plug into the extra connectors then to the CD drive/ Hard drive instead of plugging them into the power supply then the CD drive/ Hard drive.
- There's 2 types of power connectors, old style 4-pin Molex and Sata power. Adapters are pretty cheap, just check Monoprice.
- Q: ...suction cup mount? There is a port on the side of the device that the vehicle power cable fits into, but the manual says the vehicle power cable is designed to plug into the suction cup mount. What happens if I plug the vehicle power cable directly into the gps unit? Does the unit operate, but not charge? Does it not operate at all? Does it operate and charge? Before trying it, I'd like to know so I don't harm the device.
- Garmin makes a couple of power cords that go from one GPS to the other. Read the instruction manual, if it says a power cord plugs in there it will work. It will not recharge unless you have Ni-Cad rechargable batteries. Garmin is an excellent unit and you can moved saved info from other Garmins on your computer to your new one usually.
- Q: Can A bad battery or power cable cause a laptop to Blue Screen? Is there anyway to pinpoint the actual cause?
- No its usually because of hard drive failure if your talking about THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH
- Q: difference between power and control cable?
- Sorry, but what is the context? It's difficult to answer without more detail.
- Q: Opened the inside. Next to fuse, it says 8A 125VPower cable says it is 7A 125Vdevice doesn't not work. Could this be the problem? Not sure if the power cable is the original.
- Did you check to see if the fuse was blown? Non- operation can be caused by fuse deterioration over time, in relatively heavy current situations. However usually, a blown fuse is indicative of more serious problems, which will not be rectified by replacing a blown fuse. A replacement would just blow again. The power cord/ fuse markings are irrelevant, they're fine. They are there to ensure any replacements are fit for the purpose they were intended for.
- Q: I have a desktop PC that when turned on the fans works but it won't beep or display anything on screen. But after I unplug both motherboard power connectors and plug them back in, the PC stats working normally, why is that? Oh, and I tried disconnecting only the external power cable, no luck.
- Its a trick that always seems to work this is because when you disconnect the motherboard it shuts down and it cant process any data, therefore when you plug it back in and it starts working again it starts from scratch and all the data before was forgotten. As this is very helpful to people what they don't realize is that every time you do this you are not letting your motherboard finish processing the information which can lead to long term damage.
- Q: I am getting a new 160 amp high output alternator for my 2005 Mazda 3 2.3L. I am running a 1000w amp with two subs. I have the stock alternator in it right now. There are two power cable kits available for me to get. One that has 4 gauge wire with a 100 amp fuse and the other, 1 gauge with 150 amp fuse. Which kit should I get? Can I just add 4 gauge wire along with my stock wire instead of the 1 gauge kit? What are the fuses for and which one would work better? I know nothing about this. Thanks.
- A fuse is a necessary circuit protection device, if there becomes a short in the circuit, it can cause a fire, the fuse is a precise conductor which will break if too much current (energy) is being drawn. A 4 gauge wire will work fine, and you need a least a 160 amp fuse, any less and it will blow if your alternator is at full load.
- Q: I am buying a graphics card with a 6-pin power cable connection, but i have no six pin power connections, so i need a converter that converts two molex (four pin) plugs into the 6-pin plug that i need. But i have no molex pins, so i need to convert my two sata 15-pin cables to molex pins so that i can complete the circuit. will this work without risking damage to anything, and will it work in the first place? Also, do i HAVE to use _two_ molex cables to make the pci-e (six pin) cable?
- hi confident you are able to, you need to purchase FDD 4 pin Molex to finished length Molex adapters or only butcher the cable and solder the recent MOLEX on and use some electric tape on the bare wires (would not seem exceptionally).
- Q: This morning my cable modem seems to be malfunctioning...it's a Motorola SURFboard and it has a column of lights on the front (labeled Power, Receive, Send, Online, Activity, and Standby accordingly) that are all supposed to be lit up (except Standby) when I'm online. Well some of the lights keep going on and off--namely the quot;receivequot;, quot;sendquot;, and quot;onlinelights. In addition, my internet is operating very slowly and/or not at all; sometimes I get the quot;page cannot be displayedmessage when I try to navigate to another page; sometimes it goes thru ok but loads at snail's pace. Does this mean there's a problem with my computer or modem, or is it just that the internet is down in my area?
- If u manipulated the settings, i ll ask u to set it back to how it was. If u didnt do anything, then ur internet connection is down in ur area. contact ur ISP to resolve this issue ..
- Q: hello guys, how does a power boost cable works?what is the difference between a usb cable and power boost cable.
- It is simply a 2nd USB for power alone, it does not use both USBs to transfer files, just one, the 2nd is just for additional power to improve the performance of the hard disk
