Q: I have an ASUS G1SN-X1 and my laptop was working normally while plugged in. Then all of a sudden it stopped charging the battery. Q: Basically, I lost my power adapter to my monitor, and to be honest, I would like to try to avoid buying a new one entirely. I have an old HP laptop power cord that fits into my monitor, but the power specifications on it are different. The power rating on my monitor is 19V and 1.58A. I'm just assuming that's what it needs to run, and that you shouldn't go over that. My power supply from my old laptop converts standard AC into DC at 18.5V, which I'm assuming the difference in voltage between 19 and 18.5 won't really affect anything, but the amperage on my power supply is close to twice as high, at 3.5A output. I recommend use of THHN electrical wire. It is gas and oil resistant and has heavy strands that hold up well to the stress of vehicle install situations. If your wire and fuses are properly sized, then check all of your connections. Often times heat and vibration will loosen screws on amplifier contacts. Also, under the hood, heat can melt your fuse holder causing plastic to coat the contact points (in which case you'll need a small file to clean the contacts) There's really a lot of possibilities here and your question is quite vague and convoluted. Please give more details or take some time and analyse the problem carefully. Chances are that you will discover the source of the problem in a matter of just 15 minutes or so of checking.

Q: can i cut my computer Power Supply cables/USB and HDD cable to add an extension myself? They're all short.: No chance in hell. besides the fact you would have to extend the wires in the data cables with the EXACTLY same lenght, the chances to break the shielding is 100%. Not mentioning the fact that the power cables do not support the extra load given by makeshift connectors.

Q: power wont tuurn on from my amp there is power in the cables and i checked all fuses and wires there good to go nugga: I know you said that you checked your fuses, but there are fuses on the amp itself. You may want to check those too. Don't know if you did that already, but something to keep in mind. Does it go to the red light? safety mode? In that case, it may be fried and you may need to find a local stereo shop that can fix it.
