Q: soap or a regular carpet cleaner: This is what I do all the time. Go rent a rug doctor at your grocery store. I never use any of the special cleaners, instead I buy a nice big bottle of Mr. Clean orange cleaner and dillute it in some water (to the designated fill line on the water canister). Then run the rug doctor like normal. It does wonders for your carpet! It seriously is awesome. I've even used it on white carpets, colored and car carpets. Give it a try.

Q: If I removed the rug the color will age and change darker but will the floor where the rug was blend with the outer Perimeter?: Is there a lot of sunlight coming into the room? I had that happen at my last house and its because we had a lot of windows with a light floor. Take up the rug if its not that bad and let them darken to the rest of the floor. If the floors are real, not laminate, then you might need to reseal the floor with a polyurethane to keep from bleaching. Check with a flooring company and see if there is anything else you can do.

Q: How do you get nail polish out of carpet?: Well I am answering it a little late - 37 minutes late, but right away u should have used a dry towel to soak up excess polish. Then, used nail polish remover to get it out. If it was a dark color and this didn't work, you could have tried bakingsoda with water, or a good oxy clean formula ( be sure to follow directions on back carefully)
