- I like to fold up camping chairs that you can get from stores, they come with their own carrying case and the fabric is water proof and holds up well. As for being funky, I like to get one already made and decorate it myself, I do sewing but it is not worth the bother to recover a chair, instead I use fabric paint (bottled and spray on). I have even super glued patches on the back (no stitches because it can weaken the fabric)! Do you know an artist in the family that can paint the orders' mascot or troop numbers on the back? Have fun!

- Yes you can, you just have to get the measurements right but they are not cheap... how about sashes for the chairs instead in a nice colour. They are cheaper where we live and brighten up the room. You could even have the coloured sash with a flower in the middle of the back of the chair where the bow is formed....

I have found similar chairs called saucer chairs but none of them with an independent base or made of wicker. - Q: Almost every time it is time to eat, my son (10 months) doesn't want to sit in his booster high chair. He will see it and start to hold me tight, arch his back, and everything. - What about getting a kiddie size table chair? It might be a little more diffcult for you but if you can take the hassle out of meal-time then it's probably worth it? It sounds like for some reason he is associating the chair or table or something with bad feelings and the last thing you want is for that to end up being a bad association with food itself! If you could get the fun back into mealtime maybe you could then re-introduce the 'big' table as something exciting and what big boys do kinda thing. Maybe lunch at the little table dinner with mum dad? Or let him pick his own fun plate cutlery or something?

- At that price point you won't get durability, but if that's what you can afford, so be it. Things to look for: Heavily padded arms. The seat is comfortable immediately when you try it out. Arms have removable covers. Arm covers and seat cushion cover are washable. Matching footstool or small ottoman. The chair fits you so your back is against its back and your legs bend naturally at the knee. FWIW, if you're in the US you can do better on Craigslist than in an inexpensive furniture store.
