Q:My wife and I are putting chair rail in various places of our new home. We have seen a few pictures of rooms in magazines in which the chair rail was quite a bit higher (for instance, about 5 feet up on an 8 foot ceiling) than usual and liked the way it looked. Q:I need some advice! For my wedding we will be borrowing tables and metal folding chairs. I already have the tables planned out with white tablecloths and a fuschia tulle runner down the center. Thanks!: This may sound weird..but it works! My friend had the same concern/issue for her reception, so here was what we did... Pillowcases! We went to a few of our local discount/closeout stores that sell bed linens. We bought out all of the white pillow cases they had and even found a few that were in the blue color that she was using for her wedding colors. They came 2 in each pack for only 1.00 to 1.50 per pack (depending on which store we got them from) so we really only pd about .75 or so per chair. here's how to do it.... 1-Slip the case over the back of the chair and pull down just until you reach the seat and the entire back is covered. 2-Standing behind the chair, fold the excess at the top towards you in a way that results in a cuff that is about 3 to 4 wide, 3-fold that down towards you over the back of the chair and pin it to secure. 4-Then use your tuelle and tie a bow to camoflouge the fold. We used wide satin ribbon and created more of a banded look (like a ribbon sash on a wedding gown). We tied it into a knot- without the bow-and left the long streamer-trails. We had also arranged it so that all of the 'knots w/trailing ribbons were more towards the right sides of the chairs, rather than directly in the center. It was very striking and we got a LOT of compliments on it! If you DO use cases in both white and your wedding color, use your wedding color ribbon/netting to tie on the white chairs and then use white ribbon/netting to tie on the color chairs. But to be honest I can't tell if you're describing a basic chair freeze or an airchair.

Q:Wondering if anyone has any good stories about a chair breaking while they were sitting in it? What kind, what was it made out of? I just recently broke a wooden kitchen chair! I was leaning on the back legs and they broke loose and I crashed into a table behind me and broke a lamp and picture frame! If anything you could do a chair sash. You can get some black or pink tulle and just cut it into the lengths and tie around the backs of the chairs where they curve inward. It would cost you about a dollar a sash if that. Really though don't worry about it. Chair covers/sashes are a pretty recent trend and guests are not going to walk around saying did you see she had GRAY chairs?!. Not going to happen. Keep in mind that bodies will be in front of and sitting in the chairs and they will barely be seen in your photographs except for the very first one you have of the empty reception hall.
