Q: Built by Aeronautic engineer by the name of Andrews.

Q: He has been in training in the Army since the beginning of July. We are both 20 and have an 8 month old daughter. He will be arriving around the 24th of October (graduates training the 23rd), and I will be going to pick him up from the bus station or airport alone(he still doesn't know which form of transp. he wants to take). I would really like to do something nice for him or surprise him in some way.. But chalk it up to quot;mommy brainquot; for leaving me with a complete blank! Should it be late and we have to get a hotel or stay overnight, my mother will be staying with the baby so preparations have been discussed for that possibility. Any ideas on what we can do or I can do for him? Either when he arrives or after he is settled - to celebrate?

Salt and pepper to taste. Make mashed potatoes, adding the butter, sour cream and ranch seasoning mix to taste. Line a 12 x 9 inch baking pan with the croissant dough, opened. Bake the dough for a few minutes. Put in the meat mixture with the mashed potatoes on top like icing. Bake at 350 for 20-30 mins or until everything is hot. You can change this recipe according to what you have on hand, or what you like, just stick with the biscuit crust, meat filling and mashed potato topping.

Q: Please help me---one got in and with the help of neighbors we got it out--it was a black racer---over 4 ft long
If your afraid of them I was told and tried it take some old garden hose and cut it into 4 foot sections and spray paint it black and yellow and place it arround your garden snakes dont like to cross over other snakes and will avoid that area , good luck
Q: I am looking to fix a relatively cheap soil test kit, most likely one that you send out to a lab for results, which will tell me if my soil is safe to plant a vegetable garden in. I have found a bunch of different soil test kits, i.e. PH, moisture, etc. but none for contaminates. Thank you for all of your help in advance !
I can only speak from experience which is slightly old now that I'm retired.......The tests for contaminants is contaminate specific, that is you must specify what contaminant you are looking for and then the appropriate test is made.......at a very high cost......$150 a pop back then. We could not do a broad screen contaminate test.....we had to have an idea first. I'd suggest you have a typical soil test done by a Laboratory and include micro nutrients such as iron, etc. Contact your Cooperative Extension agent in your county to learn about the soil test process, how to properly gather the soil and how to package and of course, how much $ to include. The agent can also help decide if the soil might have been contaminated. A simple test for herbicides is to gather some soil into two pots. In one grow lawn grass or corn and in the other grow beans. Certain herbicides work on either a monocot or dicot type plant. For example if you can't grow the bean but can grow the corn you know the soil has residual herbicide for dicots.
Q: Has anyone joined the Life Membership with NHGC? I am wondering if it is worth it.
I also joined 2010 and have not received anything from them in a very long time. (3-4 yrs). I am a premier member got a few tools to try and even gave review. Now trying to get info for my new yard. Can t get there from here. My member # is 70381064. My question is wtf did I pay for. Please advice where we can find answers or product. Will be going back to Beck. Have 3/4 acre to landscape. Land is ready to start getting idea of planting. Want to have all my ducks in a row for a beautiful yard I have waited for, for 40 years.
Q: I am having my parents over in July and would like to have some pretty flowering plants in containers. Is it too late to plant them?
The best book I have is Better Homes Gardens New Complete Guide to Gardening. It was the first book I bought and I still refer to it. As for parents coming in July, I would look at petunias, begonias and just a mixture. I like to mix plants together in large containers. Good Luck.
Q: Is there any home remedies to get rid of crickets?
They are called Mole Crickets and you are not the only yard around to have them. You can apply diazinon or malathion granules to your lawn and kill them for the moment. You'll have to apply the stuff every couple of weeks though, your neighbors have them too and unless everyone treats for them, they will migrate back within a few days. The granules are available at your local home supply, hardware or nursery store.
