- Q: I had an old, old version of the Better Homes and Gardens white and red checkered cookbook. I used to make an old Corn Chowder Recipe. Any one have it? or know where to get it? We're talking 50's or 60's. I can recall some of the ingredients: Brown Onions and bacon, add cubed potatoes and water. Corn, milk, bay leaf, can't remember anything else. I adapted it by putting in pieces of cooked chicken breast meat and tomato paste. Any one????
- In my edition from the mid 60s I find Supper Corn Chowder 5 slices bacon 1 medium onion, thinly sliced and separated in rings 2 cups cooked or canned whole kernel corn 1 cup diced cooked potatoes 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup 2 1/2 cups milk 1 teaspoon salt Cook bacon till crisp in large sauce pan. Remove bacon; pour off drippings. returning 3 tablespoons to pan. Add onion and cook till lightly browned. Add remaining ingredients and dash pepper. Heat to boiling reduce heat and simmer a minute or two. Top each serving with crumbled bacon and butter. Makes 6 servings.

- Somehow, you've wandered into the wrong forum! This is the home theater electronics forum, where the discussions are centered around home theater system and TV operational and electronics problems. I think you want one of the sub-forums under Home Garden, like DYI or decorating and remodeling.

- Q: I heard its illegal to grow your own coffee or chocolate plants. is this true? I'm in California, USA if that matters.
- You can grow them indoors as house plants just about anywhere if you maintain the right conditions. I believe that you need at least one other tree of each for cross pollination.

- Q: Although chipmunks are cute and fun to watch, they can be very destructive with their underground tunnels. My neighbor's brick paver patio is caving in because of this. My garden is full of holes because they like digging out my tulip bulbs. They gnaw on them a bit and then leave them in the sun to die. Is there something I can put on the bulbs when I plant them so that the chipmunks will leave them alone? Is there something I can put in my garden that will keep the chipmunks out? My neighbor has tried several things without success including baby powder with cayene pepper. The chipmunks are also destructive if they get trapped. Last year, one got trapped in my garage and damaged the weather stripping on the bottom of the door in an attempt to get out. Is there anything that I can put down that won't harm them but will keep them away?
- *sniff* So... ya want me to leave? *sob*
- Q: I'm starting a small business that I hope to grow to a company in the future I do power washing, yardwork like helping someone with a garden and and also cutting grass and flooring and roofing

- Q: How do you get clients?
- Do your own yard to perfection and keep it that way. Put a small sign in it that says _______ 's Lawn service and add the phone #. People see this and someone will call. Then when you do quality work for a fair price, word spreads. Soon you have too much to handle. My brother and I did this many years ago and had to purchase a riding lawn tractor and lots of other yard tools to keep up with demand. Soon it got to be more than we could do and had to turn work down. You could also get permission to post an ad on local boards at the Nursery or markets. You may need to be licensed. Check the local laws. Good luck
