4) How to maintain PVC plastic floor?
The maintenance of PVC plastic floor is very convenient, the dirty can be wiped with a mop, if want to achieve better brightness, wax regularly is necessary.
- Q: I have a Chinese rug and the pile is flat. Is there any way I can improve it.
- 1. Put some ice cubes in a bowl. 2. Place the ice cubes along the dented areas of carpeting or in the spot where a piece of furniture was set. Place cubes about 2 inches apart. (See Tips below. ALWAYS test first, and be especially cautious if you have wood floors under your carpeting.) 3. Let the ice cubes rest on the carpet for several hours or overnight, at least until cubes are completely melted. 4. Allow the carpet to dry completely. 5. Vacuum the carpet in the areas where you set the ice cubes. 6. Carpet fibers should now be returned to their normal upright position. If they're still lying down, fluff them up with your finger tips. 7. Reapply ice cubes if needed. 8. Please read important TIPS below. Tips: 1. ALWAYS test this method first with one ice cube in an inconspicuous spot. Lift carpet corner to see that the water hasn't damaged the under flooring. 2. Be CAREFUL if you have wood floors underneath! Test first to make sure moisture does not damage the wood! 3. DO NOT use this method on hand dyed rugs, antique carpets, delicate or valuable rugs, or on fibers not compatible with water cleaning.

- There's no such thing. You either get fur stuck to the rugs, or you get large dust bunnies of dog fur in the corners if you have a hard floor.
- Q: I have a white carpet that has gotten dirty over the years. The color has just generally changed to a dirtier white. It's kinda dark and you can easily tell which parts of the carpet haven't gotten dirty over the years as they are perfectly white. I also have some stains. I tried bleaching some parts of the carpet which did actually work, but that left clean spots that look weird compared to how the rest of the carpet is. I would bleach the whole thing but it created such a strong smell last time that I couldn't sleep in my room. Is there a way to generally whiten the entire carpet with the supers strong smell of bleach. Preferably a way to do this with household items. Thank you.

- In the body of the page listed above are directions for how to do a burn test of fibers from your carpets to determine its fiber content. Not sure if there is a way to determine what percentage of a fiber it is other than reading tag that was on carpet at showroom or trusting the business where you purchased the carpets. Also, I read on another page that neither wool or nylon will float when the fibers are put into water.

- Depends on how big of an area you are talking about and the carpet. I have done it with a high pile carpet by cutting a small slit and injecting glue beneath the carpet and then put weight on it for a while. If it is a low pile carpet you might have a hard time hiding your incision. Maybe if you can get a syringe type injector (meat injector) you can make a small enough hole that's not visible.

- Well I am not totally sure but perhaps if you heat water until it is scalding hot and pour it on the spot then dab at it with a towel. Do this a couple of times until the wax is gone. I don't know if it will work for sure but at least it wont ruin that spot on the carpet so much by cutting and scraping at it. If you are not worried about the carpet so much then cut it but it sounds like that you are worried about it or you wouldn't try and clean it at all. I would try the scalding hot water. Cant hurt it. I think it will work though. Then after you do that try a carpet cleaner that you can spray on and vacuum up. Might draw out any wax that is left over. Don't boil the water though, I don't know if it will melt the synthetic fibers in the carpet or not if it is boiling water. Good luck hope it works.
