- I would never buy a bagless vacuum cleaner, and don't see why anyone would. The bag contains the mess, makes cleanup much easier. As far as I know, this brand cleaner has gotten poor reviews. .
- Q: I am a vacuum cleaner expert. I'm sure many folks know a little more as far as models and dates of manufacture, but that's easy research stuff. Not to put anyone down surely- in fact much of my books appeal would be accredited to the beautiful images of particular models and their history. Aside from your typical coffee table book styling, my book would go deeper into the actual function of vacuum cleaners. - I have one which is over 30 years old. My particular model is bulky to store but the durability has outlasted my expectations. You can still have parts to replace in this old model (never hear that those parts are discontinued). Only thing I had replaced was the hose and it thoroughly gone through cleaned through the Electrolux dealer. I recently got an upright $150 vacuum for the basement area. This new vacuum don't even come close to get the dirt sucked out of the carpet like the old Electrolux. Guess I will have to carry the old vacuum up down the stairs since I want a good job done.

I am concerned that you have indicated your machine was leaking some kind of oil or grease and neither of these fluids are used in the manufacture of the DC14 or indeed any of our vacuum cleaners. If your DC14 is making a loud noise and is not running correctly, we would strongly advise you take it to a local repair centre or call the Dyson Helpline for assistance. If you are not able to take it to a repair centre, we can arrange for it to be collected and taken to one. - In the past, I have bought vacuum cleaners that were less expensive, only to have them wear out, break, or completely die on me within a couple of years. Dyson has put in so much time and energy into the designing of his vacuums that you never have to worry about them wearing out before their time has truly come. My Dyson is incredible. It's well designed, picks up everything in sight, never loses suction, and is so cool looking that even my man volunteers to vacuum. They truly thought of everything when they designed the Dyson vacuums. I have an Animal at work, which is a great upright, and a stow-away one at home. As an added bonus, neither of them need bags. Yes, they're expensive, but they last a long time, and do a good job, so in my books, it's worth it.

Also has a long hose that works great for cleaning steps and other areas that you can't run the power head on. I have 4 cats and 3 dogs so I know pet hair and this one handles it very, very well. The unit has the advanced HEPA filtration too so you don't blow dirt back into the air from the sweeper. And it handled drywall sanding dust very well when I was redoing the hall way walls. Most of the time, it's about $250 but if you watch for a sale you can snag it for $200. Well worth every penny!
