Bagless vacuum cleaner feature a removable dust storage container, which can be emptied into your refuse bin when full. The advantage of this bagless system over a bagged vacuum cleaner is that it is more environmentally friendly, and avoids the need to purchase dust bags, thus saving you money.
FAQ
Is it best to go for a more powerful vacuum cleaner?
The power of a vacuum cleaner’s motor is measured in Watts. The higher the Wattage the better it will clean, as long as the machine is well designed with good air flow and suction power too. However, the higher the wattage, the noisier the machine will be. With upright vacuum cleaners. you don’t need to have so much wattage or suction power as you do with a cylinder cleaner as the dirt has less distance to travel before it reaches the bag or dust container. The type of brushes are more of an important consideration with uprights than the power. You don’t always want to have a vacuum cleaner operating at full power for example, when cleaning upholstery or curtains, so it’s useful to be able to adjust the power level yourself.
Which attachments should I look out for?
Most vacuum cleaners come with three attachments, a crevice tool, upholstery and dusting brushes and a small head which is best for vacuuming stairs. You can also get additional turbo brushes which have their own motor for extra suction which are useful for cleaning deep-pile carpets or a power cleaning head which has electrically powered rotating brushes. A hard-floor or parquet brush is useful for wooden or tiled floors. Some cleaners have extendable tubes which are useful for hard to reach areas like cobwebs in the corners of ceilings.
I have a large house? What should I look out for?
Look for a cleaner with a large cleaning head – this will help cut down the amount of time it takes to vacuum a room. Also get as long a lead as you can get to cut down on the number of times you have to unplug the lead and plug it in again. You may also want to consider getting a model with a large capacity dust collector or bag so that you don’t have to empty it as frequently. If you have a lot of stairs, you may want to get a cylinder model with a long stretchy stair-cleaning hose.
- Q: I'm trying to find a good deal on a Dyson. I know I've seen them on sale in the past...and Target once had a deal where if you bought one, you'd get a $100 gift card.
- just have to keep an eye out no real season on deals for vacuum cleaners
- Q: I know there is the Bissell Flip it, Dirt Devil Vac n Mop and Hoover Floor Mate, but is there a site where I can compare all 3 and see which one is the best?
- I have the Hoover Floor Mate. DO NOT buy this! All it does is pee the water out, and smear the dirt around. Personally I am a fan of hands and knees with a mixture of light dawn dish soap and warm water. I don't think, if your floor is wood it is wise to actually get it wet. Regular hardwood floor cleaner I suppose would be the best.
- Q: Do I need to Vacuum up pet hair, etc before I use one of these Bissell Upright Steam Cleaners. I was going to purchase a new Bagless Bissell Pet Hair removal vacuum and the aile over I saw the Bissell Pro Heat cleaners for like 100 bucks more. Can I just get rid of my vacuum and use this steam cleaner instead or do you still need to vacuum before you clean. Or can I use steam cleaners without the water now and then just like a vacuum?
- It really is tough to compare the two, I agree that Wade is a better leader and motivator than Lebron and actually had higher PPG than Lebron. Wade obviously has a weaker team surrounding him so it is very impressive how far they've come from last season. As far as the MVP is concerned you can't take the literal meaning of most valuable player. The NBA tends to give the award to the most valuable player on one of the top few teams in the league, and the Cavs had an incredible record this season, so by the NBA's standards Lebron deserves the award over Wade. I do think that Wade is more valuable to the Heat than Lebron is to the Cavs, because without Lebron the Cavs would still be a playoff team, but without Wade the Heat would be in last place like last year. That said ...both are amazing players and both are deserving of the award.
- Q: Sears just had a sale on vacuum cleaners and I got their progressive upright model 35923 with the quot;intelicleansystem. This is the one highly rated by Consumer Reports.I used it for a few days, and it seemed okay, except the inteliclean system would start acting weird after about 30 minutes of use. It would slip into the highest-power mode and get quot;stuckthere. Even on areas that it previously went over and sensed as clean. I could temporarlily fix it by switching out of carpet mode, then back in, but after a while it would get stuck again.Swapped it for another one, and the sales associate tells me to NOT USE the inteliclean system the first few times I vacuum. When I ask why, she says quot;I don't know what the reason is, we're just supposed to tell the customers thatquot;. Sounds pretty strange to me. There's nothing in the manual about it.Has anyone else gotten this advice from Sears regarding their inteliclean equipped vac? If so, what's the reason for it?
- take it back and get another vac. it has a problem, a friend has one and it doesnot do that, the sales man sounds like he knows nothing and cares less.
- Q: I just bought a new carpet for our living room its so nice and very comfy my 1yr old kid loves to lie down on it and now my problem is what's the best vacuum cleaners we should use? Were looking for the best one price doesn't matter since our kid loves to play there we should find something to clean it up so he wont develop any allergies. Thanks!
- The best answer to this question is... Buy what professional house cleaners janitorial cleaners use. that is Sanitare. They come in many different prices that fit your budget.$115-300. Just walk into a commercial vacuum store ask for it buy name. They will try to sell you the expensive ones, if you go in looking confused. All the cleaners walk out with this one including me. Its a floor vacuum as opposed to a hose, which gets clogged up quick. This vacuum is made to last it cleans with super power. The stores will not check your id to make sure you own a cleaning business, just act like you do.
- Q: We have brand new beber carpet and our old vacuum cleaner doesn't seem to like it. We need a new one but was wondering what type to get. There is just two of us living in the home but we do have an inside dog that likes to shed so we need something that will get all his hair up. Any suggestions?
- ,My wife and I have an inside dog and an inside long hairedcat ,we were having the same problem, we went through 4 or 5 vacuums before we bought a dyson absolute, and that was it.We also have the same kind of carpet and it just glides over it,and picks up pet like you wouldn't beleive.hope this helps.
- Q: Hi. I can't find the papers on my bagless vacuum cleaner and was wondering if it is okay to spray the carpet cleaner on and then vacuum with a quot;baglessvacuum cleaner. I can't really imagine what it would hurt since the only real difference I can see is that all of the dirt is going to a container instead of a bag. Thanks everyone...I haven't had this all that long and didn't want to do something that would damage my vacuum, so if you have a bagless vacuum and have done this or if you know something about them....please respond. I really appreciate it.
- I've done the same thing and also own a bagless vacuum without having any problems. I let it sit on the carpet for a short time before running it, but so far no issues! :)
- Q: I heard Dysons are very nice, but they are very expensive. I could save up for one but it is all its cracked up to be? Are there any less expensive vacuum cleaners out there that are worth the money? I want one that doesn't clog easy and can pick up pet hair. Also preferably one that isn't too messy to dump it contents. Thanks ! :)
- I use to own a Kirby and the motor went out on it after having it for 5 years. As expensive as that was ,I was not impressed and decided against sinking anymore money into it so I bought a Hoover Mach 5 which was about $200 and have liked the results I've goten with it. It is bagless and picks up pet hair very well. This was a couple years ago so a newer model than the Mach 5 is available I'm sure.Just because you pay more for something doesn't necessarily mean it is better. I would never buy another Kirby or a Rainbow for that matter.
- Q: ok i was going to vacuum both the carpet and hardwood but i don't know how to change the sliding thing on the bottom of the vacuum and where to put it should i just put it on hard? making sure because i dont want to ruin the hardwood Thanks!!!!!
- most vacuums will scratch up hard wood floors so it is better to dust mop it.
- Q: I am currently doing house cleaning and using my clients vaccums, but I am wondering if I should get my own, because they mostly have area rugs and their vacuum cleaners are just too strong, it's almost like the vacuum's are trying to eat the rugs! So I was looking at the Eureka, The Boss, and was thinking about getting that, because I just don't want to be liable for a ruined vacuum, or rug! What do you think?Would you rather have someone use your own vacuum which may be too strong, or their own which may be just right?
- I may be in the minority here, but I would prefer that a house keeper, cleaning person use my own sweeper rather than one that has been used in someone else's home. It's one heck of a good way to transmit some not very nice things from one home to another. Things like fleas, bed bugs, dust mites to name a few. We have several throw rugs that the vacuum tries to eat and we just clean those with the hand attachment. Yeah, it requires a little bending over and such but oh well. They are laundered on a regular basis so it's more for pet hair removal than anything else here.
