- Q: I've tried various vacuums through the years but none seem to do well on the edges of the carpet. Anyone tried a really good one for that?
- All around, Hoover and Electrolux make about the best vacuum cleaners.
- Q: Can you improve a vacuum cleaners suction (with tweeks) or filteration (by adding aditional filter)?
- Well if you can you would probably be a pretty good engineer. I would keep any existing filters cleaned regularly and if you are using a bag They tend to have better air flow when first installed(empty). You didn't mention what type or for what purpose. If you are cleaning carpet you need agitation, air flow, and suction. Setting it too low would cut down on air flow. Too high would increase air flow but you would not get the suction down where you need it. You might get some better answers if you add details.
- Q: Please recommend a good & cheap vacuum for carpets and rugs.?
- hey there- if you're cleaning carpeted stairs a gr8 idea is to use a rubber brush then a high quality dustbuster. there is one sold named xtreme power and it's awesome i have one
- Q: i want to know why my vaccum is too loud feel like vibrate/loud? Its Hoover Fusion any idea i should look at it? thanks
- Vacuum cleaners usually are rather loud. But they're silent when they're turned off.
- Q: Do you like the way it cleans? Will they work well on tiled floors?
- Love mine. no longer some thing a lot less complicated then turning it on and having the paintings done for you. It cleans properly and is tremendous for someone with a nasty again. alternatives up puppy hairs, gravel, is going from bare floor to carpet quite. Handles scatter mats without complications. i love that you'll set up the invisible walls and corral it to a particular area it is functional in an open domicile plan.
- Q: I have a memory foam mattress topper that was vacuum packed in its original box, and when I took it out originally, it expanded to many, many times its original vacuum packed size. I live far away and need to ship it to myself now, but now that it's not vacuum packed and shrunk, I can't get it much smaller than the largest of my suitcases. Is there any place that I can go to get it industrially shrink wrapped or vacuum packed (preferably in the DFW area) so that I can get it down to at least a fraction of its original size? The home vacuum sealers won't do the trick; this mattress pad is much too strong and large for what they are intended to do. I've tried and nothing works, I'm thinking only an industrial stength vacuum packer will work.
- This may be a long shot, but I know meat packing plants have large vaccuum sealing machines. Maybe you could find one in your area that would do it for you for a small fee. Hopefully it wouldn't come out smelling like chicken!
- Q: I was conversing with a person in the vacuum industry and was informed that they were a bucket of s.h.i.t so don't be fooled by the marketing.
- While I've only heard good things from people who have bought DYSONS- I believe that proper maintance is really key... I have an older vacuum a HOOVER-SAVVY which I LOVE.. I've had it for just over 5 yrs. and it works very well. In fact when it came out it was rated as good as, or better than a DYSON and it cost 1/2 as much... I also since the vacuum was a gift I purchased the extended warranty which has been a great purchase and still was cheaper than a DYSON.. The warranty covered pretty much everything except filters.... So, I would take my vacuum in- 2x a year for it's annual clean check ( I would call under warranty and tell them it wasn't working properly) and basically come home with a new vacuum... I believe that anything you buy and use regularly and I vacuum almost everyday needs upkeep and maintanace... So, to anyone that buys a DYSON and finds it to be sub-par I would send it back under warranty and keep sending it back until the problem is fixed or they send you a new one... I have a set of CALPHALON non-stick commercial grade pans... I got them for a wedding present ($200.00)... They have a 10 yr. warranty. I send them back every couple of years and get a BRAND-'NEW set. No questions asked... After the 10 yrs. are up I'll probably just buy some other pans... I don't like them... However, if I can get brand new pans every yr. then why not? Read and use the warranty... good luck
- Q: I have a two piece standard Kenmore vacuum (not an upright vacuum but one of those that the hose attaches to the body). Anyways, I was vacuuming and then all of a sudden the roller quit spinning. I thought maybe some string or some other obstruction was preventing the roller from spinning or perhaps the belt broke. But I took everything apart and found out the motor doesn't spin. I can't even spin it manually. If I remember right shouldn't the motor be able to spin freely? My motor is stuck and won't spin and I can't find any obstruction preventing it from spinning.Any thoughts? And secondly, can you clarify if the motor should spin freely when the vacuum is turned off because I could have sworn that in the past if anything got wrapped around the roller (like string) I could easily unwind it.
- That motor burned. Need a new one. Good luck...!
- Q: I am wanting to buy one of those self-activated quot;robotvacuum cleaners. But I need one that will have good enough suction to vacuum up a LOT of dog hair. What is the best one?
- Don't waste your money - you will be extremely unhappy with the results. Cleaning one of those robots does not just involve dumping the trash - you need to clean the brushes and rollers as well. The bad part about irobot is that pet hair will wrap tightly around the guides on the sides of the rollers. You can't just pick that off - it takes a tool to pry the stuff loose.
- Q: Hi I'm wondering if this vacuum cleaner with a hose.
- You type well for being blind. The hose is between the canister and floor wand. That is not an elephant trunk in the picture. Yes, the hose comes off, just like all vacuum cleaners. You also posted in the auto repair category.
