Q: Greetings, all! I am currently cleaning my room, as in looking for dust spots and trying to sweep it up. I tried vacuuming, but my bird got scared and jumped to the bottom of the cage, so I figured to get a little birdhouse to move him while I did it. I also cleaned the lamp that I was using to give him light at night, and I accidentally swept too fast, I saw the particles rise around the cage. I got so worried. Should I be worried? Or is it only a large accumulation that could damage the bird? What can I do?Thanks in advance!: Your kidding right? People have owned, raised, and dealt with conures for centuries. How do you suppose they cleaned thier homes? There was or is no technique special for pet birds, you just clean. Common sense will or should guide you however when spraying chemicals or getting the vacum hose too close to your bird, now I'm kidding.

Q: any specific brands or models? I'm looking for under 200 dollars, thanks: Unfortunately with vacuum cleaners as with all other things in life, you get what you pay for. You aren't going to find a good pet vacuum for that price, unless you find someone selling a used but still functional one. I own a Dyson DC17 Animal. It does a great job, but also will run you close to $500. My less expensive Bissel Pet Hair Eraser was repaired under warranty 3 times and died again right after the warranty expired. Plus, it didn't clean half as well as the Dyson even when it was working properly.

Q: Honest, Himself just purchased a new vacuum we are told one of the attachments was used in the 1940s for nit picking.Have you ever heard of a nit picking attachment being put on vacuum cleaners in the past? If you were to gain some nits would you be inclined to use a vacuum to remove them? Why or why not.Oh in case you were wondering I don't catch nits. I know this because back in the day I had work that involved louse removal from humans I never, ever caught any. Apparently I am immune.: I never heard of such a vacuum, but I sure as heck wouldn't use it for for that purpose. Nits are literally glued onto the hair shaft with a substance chemically close to the composition of hair, so it would impossible for the vacuum attachment to actually work unless it pulls the entire hair strand out of your head (ouch!). Lice crawl; they don't jump or fly. Lice are spread by having had direct head to head contact (ie hugging with hair touching, sharing hats, etc) to get any number of lice to set up shop on another person's head. You were never infested because there was no direct contact to make it possible.

You would assume this would be the most powerful one but not necessarily so. Rainbows vacuums are the best but they are expensive - you can sometimes get a good used one on OKorder
