FAQ:

Q1: Are electronics cheap in Okorder.com?
A: Of course. They are very cheap. The factories provide the goods. One-stop sourcing.
Q2: Why are electronics so cheap in ok order?
A: On ok order they are the lowest price. Because it is a wholesale website and factory provide goods.
Q3: Do all electronics have silicon in them?
A: No but most modern ones do. Older electronics that don't require micro chips don't have to have silicon at all, and their mother boards are made from copper. Silicon is used in micro chips as a semi-conductor in modern electronics but some other semi-metals, like gallium and germanium can also be used. Silicon is just the most common because it is so plentiful.

Q:I have a computer with a built in Memory Card reader and a few weeks ago i left a memory card in there and turned the computer off and when i turned it back on the computer wouldnt get past the XP screen without taking the memory card out , when i did this. The computer no longer recognises memory cards or adapters.i have tried 2 adapters with 3 different memory cards to no avail. any suggestions?
Hiya, Fairly simple this one, try the following:- 1. Switch off the computer, disconnect from power supply. now get a air canister, and direct the air blaster through the card reader holes. 2. leave the machine off for not less than 5 minutes - This lets the inside return to room temperature. 3. When 2 above complete -restart your computer. using a pen torch, check that no pins or wires seem out of place. if these look ok, then proceed to 4. 4. re-install the driver for your card reader. Using Startcontrol panelhardwaredevice manager - Locate the card reader section, and simply right click, select properties, then go through the tabs until you find update driver or re-install driver. Once this is completed, goto 5. 5. re-boot the computer, and try the reader with a different memory card. This is because your other ard maybe corrupted. Hope this helps, Alex
Q:i have some how 2010 security program coming up and i suspect that this was coz the 32 bit windowscard reader driver
you need card reader driver if You have card reader on your computer. if you install it and you doesn't have a card reader, it won't do anything wrong. but if you have card reader and you don't install it, your card reader won't work.
Q:i have a SD card reader on my tower for my HP desktop computer its a HP w2207h and the little light indicates that it is reading the card but nothing pops up like it usually would asking if i want to upload photos what could be the problem my dad and i just spent an hour trying to fix it and we don't know what the cause is i have a 1GB SD card from sanDisk and its annoying the heck out of me please help!
There are 2 possibilities. Either the card reader went bad or the card itself is bad. Actually there is another possibility - you are using the wrong slot. Do some simple troubleshooting. Can the card reader read a different card? Can the card be read on a different computer? The answers you get will tell you what the problem is.
Q:Hi, I am interested in buying a smart card reader for the PC. Smart card as in the chips used by stuff like cell phones. Wikipedia article on smart cards shows a bunch of different chip variations. All differ in the pin layout. Does a smart card reader read all of the layouts? Or do you have to get a specific one?
Whoa there. You may have just mixed 2 technologies. You want to read a SIM card or a Smart(SD) card? If it's the latter then typically card readers give you the ability to read all formats. My mini-SD came with adapters to standard SD which is in almost every card reader. For you I would say find out what kind of card you want to use(probably mini-SD) and make sure the card reader you're purchasing reads it.
Q:I am tired of looking at my zip drive, and i want to do something with the space.and I am doing research to upgrade my old Mac G4.thanks
get an external media card reader! Don't bother trying to upgrade. If your ol' mac has USB (my g4 did), you can use ANY windows/mac card reader (I do). And you can take your 20 dollar investment along with you when you retire your g4!
Q:CAN ANYONE HELP PLZ, I TRIED TO BUY SOMETHING ON THE INTERWEB TODAY FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, AND IT ALL WENT WRONG WHEN IT CAME TO PAYING. IT ASKED FOR MY NAME, ADDRESS, MOTHERS MAIDEN NAME, ACCOUNT NUMBER, CARD NUMBER AND PIN, SO I GAVE THIS THEN PUT MY CREDIT CARD INTO MY CARD READER, BUT IT WENT ALL THE WAY IN AND WONT COME OUT. SHAKING IT IS NO USE, AND I HAVE TRIED TWEEZERS. HELP PLEASE, WHAT DO I DO?
Um, computers don't normally have credit card readers so where exactly did you put your credit card? I'm guessing you either put it in the CD-ROM slot or possibly an ExpressCard slot. The ExpressCard slot isn't all that deep so you should be able to get it out, but if you put it in your CD slot that's a whole different problem. Honestly I'm not sure how you would get that out without totally taking the drive apart or risk damaging it by putting things in to get the card out.
Q:i have no idea why my camera is not working with my computers. if i buy the memory card reader does it work?My camera is Sony DSC-S650 so should i buy a sony memory card reader? Will it work at all?PLEASE HELP ME IM SO CONFUSED!!!!!
If you get a card reader, no additional software is necessary. This is not only faster, but it saves your camera batteries. Your computer or printer may even have a card reader built into it. I have enough USB ports that I just leave it plugged in all the time. First of all, be sure there are some pictures on the card. Plug the card reader into an open USB port. Plug the card into the appropriate slot on your card reader. I use Photoshop Elements and as soon as I plug my card into the reader, it starts its own card reader and displays a thumbnail of every picture on the card. If this does not happen automatically, open your photo editing software. Do whatever you usually do to open a file, but click on the selector where you can change drives. Your card reader will be assigned a new drive name that will be one letter higher than you ever saw before, such as Drive G: or such. Then, just double click on the name of the file you want to open and it will appear in your photo editor. You can buy various kinds of card readers to accomodate many different memory cards pretty much anywhere that they sell digital cameras. Even WalMart has decent card readers by the major manufacturers. Be sure you get one that accepts Sony Memory Sticks.
Q:I just got a new Gateway laptop with a built-in media-card reader. But my SD card from my Kodak Digital Camera won't work in it. the computer recognizes it as a removable disk, but tells me it needs to be formatted. Obviously, when I format it, I lose the pictures. But the formatting process won't even finish - I get an error message. Pics still get deleted. After I attempt this formatting on the computer, and I put the card back in the camera, the camera needs to reformat the card! Once I do that, the whole thing starts over again in a vicious cycle. How can I get my SD card to be read on both my Kodak Camera (CX7430) and my computer?! The photos are in JPEG format, and should be interchangeable! My old USB plug-in card reader stil works in the new computer, but I don't want to have to use it anymore!
The format it refers to isn't the format of the pictures, but the format of the file system on the card. If you have more than one memory card, or know someone else who uses a card like it, ask them to copy all their pictures from it and lend it to you to try in the internal card reader on your laptop. If that does not work, call Dell because something is wrong with the card reader. I think they'll fix it for you free of charge, or else tell you what to do with it to make it work. I suspect it's a software problem, but they should help you with that because not everyone knows how to upgrade drivers for devices like that and it should work right out of the box anyway.
Q:(I guess that also applies to some ATM's and other card readers.)
Your credit card has a magnetic stripe on the back of it that contains a string of numbers (such as 1425378404). Certain types of manual card readers, such as those on gas pumps, read the magnetic stripe on your card as you pull the card out rather than when you put it in. The card reader works best when you quickly pull the card out because the numbers all come in as one quick string and the reader can definitely tell the beginning and end of the number. (begin, 1425378404, end). If you pull the card out too slowly or erratically, the reader can get confused, and lose track of the beginning and end of the string. (begin, 1425,,,end?begin?378404 end?) Card readers that are motorized, such as those used in major ATMs, don't have this problem. The motor grabs and returns the card at the same speed every time, assuring a consistent reading of the card.
