- You need an E3 Flasher or similar device like a ProgSkeet. It's not a card reader. It's basically a second internal flash chip that can overwrite the one in your PS3. You have to open your system up to install it. But did your system come with 3.55 or lower orginally? If it had 3.72 out of the box you can't downgrade to 3.55 no matter what you use.

- You will need to buy a memory card reader with an USB connection to your laptop. Reader are inexpensive, it ranges from $7 to $25. There are many types out there will read SD, MMC, MS, FD, etc. You have not mention what kind of memory card you are using. just to makle sure it lists what your card type on the reader. If you are running Windows 98, you will need to load the driver of the card reader. Good luck!

- yup. they sell x-in-1 media card readers in the computer stores. Check your local Fry's Electronics, Best Buy, etc They're pretty cheap and will occupy an internal USB port on your mobo.

- if your reader doesn't show, you need to reinstall the chipset and card reader drivers. If your reader is there, but your card isn't it could be a bad reader, a bad card, an improperly formatted card, a bad adapter or MOST LIKELY you are using a SDHC card in an SD reader. MOST computers use SD, most cell phones use sdhc. sdhc is backwards compatible but Computers don't have the same push for miniaturization that cell phones do. ALSO many cell phone mfgrs lock out reading data such as pics and music on other devices because they want you to pay for a plan so they set the firmware to not allow transfer. Look for the SD or SDHC logo on your card. Try your card in another device

- Try the SD card in a different computer to see if it is broken. Or try a different SD card in the reader to see if it is working fine. If the SD card is fine, you can try reinstalling the card reader drivers.

- It sounds to me like your memory card is an SD High-Capacity (SDHC) memory card. The first generation of R4DS card readers do not support SDHC cards*. Also, the card reader on your Mac may not support SDHC cards. When SD cards first came out, they had a maximum capacity of 4GB. When that wasn't enough any more, the group that manages the SD format came out with a new standard: SDHC. SDHC looks the exact same, but is completely different internally. And the internal differences make SDHC incompatible with SD card readers. Newer SDHC capable card readers can read both SD and SDHC cards, but older SD card readers can't read new SDHC cards. To see if your memory cards is SDHC check the packaging or label. Then, check if your model of Mac and/or R4DS support SDHC. To see if it is just the card that is broken, go to a computer store and ask if they have a computer up and running that has an SDHC card reader. Stick in your card and see if it works. If it does, your card readers aren't SDHC compatible. If the card doesn't work in the computer store's computer, the memory card is most likely damaged and needs to be returned under warranty. - try not to remove your card while reading or writing. $15 is good enough to get a SD card reader.

- Is the card that is inserted locked? Most SD cards have a safety lock so that you can't remove anything from them accidentally. Try taking it out of the reader, and look for a small switch on one side. This can be moved up or down. On one end it might say lock. This is a very, very small switch, and it is somewhat hard to describe! Sorry Hope that helps!
