- Q: Jon and Paul are folding origami cranes. If Paul works alone he can fold 100 cranes in 5hours. together they can do the same job in 3 hours. how much time would it take for Jon to fold 100 cranes alone? Please show your work. :)
- Paul does 100 cranes in 5 hours So in 1 hour he does 20 cranes In 3 hours he does 60 cranes and balance 40 cranes Jon does Jon = 40 cranes in 3 hours So 100 cranes = 100/40 X 3= 7.5 hours ANSWER
- Q: so yeah i know that cranes do the main work but i guess there are no such really toll cranes to do that with skyscrapers ?
- The cranes hook to the side of the building and climb the steel frame as it is being built. The crane can only reach a few stories so it has to climb each story's steel frame as it is finished.
- Q: Has anyone actually folded 1000 paper cranes? i want some proof
- no. But I have read the book sadako and the thousand paper cranes. I was so sad when I read that. I have always wanted to fold A paper crane.
- Q: I watched a man climb one once and he wasn't secured. Crazy. How much do they get?If there are any operators on here, do you get scared when you climb up/down?
- 1. No need to be secured, the ladder inside the crane tower has many platforms. It's actually a heap of ladders and platforms not a single ladder. Usually the ladder is surrounded by a cage that would catch you if you fell. Once at the top there are handrails everywhere, you just make your way to the cabin. 2. Average here in Australia is about 1500 to 2000 non union and 2500 to 3000 union. 3. Not worried climbing but if there is a thunderstorm and you are in the cabin it can be scary 4. You shouldn't climb the crane when it's rainy as its all steel it is slippery if wet but sometimes it cannot be helped. You should wear non slip boots too
- Q: Hey,My grandma has a big country estate with a river and its her birthday coming up. She's indicated she might like another peacock (we've had them before), but I'm thinking of branching out into other birds. We tried Lady Amerhursts pheasants, but one of the dogs knocked over their cage before they were properly acclimatised and they disappeared. So, does anyone know if its possible to get storks or cranes or other big waterbirds to keep as domestics? They'd be free ranging on the estate and the river, so need to be smart about foxes and mink (ie roost in trees or go into a house). We've kept geese and ducks successfully on our river like this, so does anyone have any ideas?Or should we try again with pretty pheasants?
- Depends on where you live ? Stick to Ornamental Pheasants or Ducks,Storks and Cranes, need to be penned in at night because you will have to pinion them to prevent them flying. Try some Golden Pheasants for a try ,Lady Amherst are becoming a rare commodity and are quite expensive,if you have Foxes and Mink, then no matter what you get you will have problems these two predators.
- Q: The arm of a crane at a construction site is 12.1 m long, and it makes an angle of 30° with the horizontal. Assume that the maximum load the crane can handle is limited by the amount of torque the load produces at the base of the arm. (a) What is the magnitude of the maximum torque the crane can withstand if the maximum load the crane can handle is 500 N?(b) What is the maximum load for this crane at an angle of 35° with the horizontal?
- (a) What is the magnitude of the maximum torque the crane can withstand if the maximum load the crane can handle is 500 N? τ = FL τ = 500(12.1cos30) τ = 5239.45 τ = 5240 Ν?m (b) What is the maximum load for this crane at an angle of 35° with the horizontal? τ = FL F = τ / L F = 5239.45 / 12.1cos35 F = 528.6109... F = 529 N I hope this helped. Please remember to vote a Best Answer from among your results. It's good karma as it keeps things in balanced exchange.
- Q: What did Stephen crane contribute to history?
- I think his greatest contribution was The Red Badge of Courage. It was the most ealistic portrayal of a Civil War soldier written at the time; so real, in fact, that veterans swore the had fought alongside him during battle (Crane wasn't even alive during the war).
- Q: For my science fair project we have to build someething using simple machines, me and my partner decided to do the crane, but we havent been able to find any place that shows intructions on how to build it. If you can please included a step by step plan, the things you will need ( whether or not they are hard to find/ and if so where i might be able to find them ), and your sourcetruely i appreciate this sooo much thankyou in advance everything counts so please make it as detailed as possible and if you know any other sites that show please include thank you sooo much :)
- you are totally just trying to avoid doing this work by yourself. anybody with two eyes can just look up crane on google and learn how it works. they are super simple just go to the library or something. or better yet go look at a real crane.
- Q: If any of you have read The Red Badge of courage by Stephen Crane can you please tell me what you think about it. Is it a good book or is it not?!!!! Do you praise it or critize it !? i need your opinion what's your review! Thanks
- My Lord, I read that book over 30 years ago.....If I remember correctly, not that enthralled by it.
- Q: I need help to find the meaning of Chinese proverb A crane standing amidst a flock of chickens.
- To put it in people terms, it would be like an exceptional person standing among a lot of ordinary people (the flock or general masses). You would definitely want to be the crane in such a case.
