  Glazed Tile CMAX-BR653

Q: I want to remove really ugly ceramic tiles from my bathroom walls. I want to do this without destroying the plaster wall underneath. What‘s the best way to take them off? Is this going to be a big job? Thanks in advance!!
Plaster indicates an older house. My guess is that the tile also is raised about a half inch above the surface of the wall and there is a nice bull nose tile that curves into the wall. If I'm correct thus far then there is no plaster under the majority of the tile. Back in the day, the plasters would attach lathe down to just below where the top of the tile would be then plaster only that. Then the tile setters would attach a heavy steel mesh the rest of the way down and strike mortar over top to create a proper backing for the tile. When you go to remove the tile it will come off with great difficulty and in large chunks because of the steel mesh, which by the way is nailed to the studs. By the way, the tile you have can be painted or new tile can be installed over it.
Q: I have 12x12 field tile and a strip of accent that‘s about 2 high. Everything I‘ve read says that you want to have the accent at eye level, which makes sense to me. Judging for myself, it LOOKS best at eye level. If I place it at eye level, I wind up with a full 12x12 tile above it, or at least, a 12 space above it. So going down to the tub, I would have a 2 1/2 cut tile at the bottom, right above the tub.Everything I have read also says that you want to have the cut tiles at the top and bottom symmetrical.
Run the full tile as the first course at the tub and the accent tile will be close enough to eye level to look good.
Q: Have you used the marble tiles, the quality, the price?
Specifically, the selection of floor tiles can start from the following aspects: 1. To see whether the color of the tile body is pure. Mainly observe the back of the tile color is uniform, consistent. 2. To observe the tile cross section of the particles are delicate. Here the cross section does not refer to the tile around the cutting surface, but refers to the broken tile tile. In general, the fracture at the fine, hard and brittle, the same color for the top grade. Because the fine grain tiles waterproof ability, and the larger particles of the tile, the water is easy to immerse, affecting the quality. 3. Pay attention to the thickness of the glaze layer. Glaze thickness is the thickness of the glazed cross section. Glaze is the most expensive material in the tile cost, the thicker the glaze, the better the quality. 4. Listen. Tapping the tiles to pay attention to hear the sound is crisp, such as the sound clear, sweet for the top grade, such as the sound boring for the defective.
Q: What procedure to use to keep the tiles from falling from the ceiling before the mortar dries.
You should be using special tile adhesive made for tiling ceilings.
Q: i have ceramic tile on my countertop and i do not like it and i was wondering if i could put a countertop on top of the tile? i just want to know what my inexpensive route will be. i do not have a lot of money to have things done. just want to know what my options would be.
Yes, you can tile over your existing tops. Consider, though, that if your landlord doesn't like it, he can charge you your security deposit for removal. Taking tile off of counters is an expensive, messy process, so you might want to get the OK first. Good luck w/your project.
Q: I have a pistol grip glass cutter with a carbide cutting wheel....can this be used to cut ceramic tile, or am I better off to get tile nippers?
You score tile with the glass cutter. For other than straight cuts those nippers are still useful.
Q: What is the tile material?
Tile raw materials from the clay, quartz sand and so on mixed.
Q: It is necessary to start the decoration of the house. The The How does the bedroom match? How does the living room match? How does the bathroom match? How does the kitchen match? I would like to bedroom with the floor, the rest with tiles; please heroes to help me with the next color
Disadvantages Exposure - 5 defects in the floor: the impact of weather and humidity; need regular maintenance; easy to deformation after flooding Alice; formaldehyde release; life is relatively short. Wood flooring is indeed a beautiful natural, comfortable foot feeling, good insulation properties, good things often need to pay more labor, easy to deformation of wood flooring, how much will have formaldehyde emissions, health hazards. Not easy to care, but also often wax to do maintenance.
Q: I would like to remove some tiles from one area of my kitchen and save as many as possible for use in another area of the kitchen. They are heavy 1979 ceramic tiles. How do I get them up and save some of them?
Having recently removed a s***load of tile during a kitchen remodel, I wish you luck in saving a whole lot of them! Carefully slide a prybar under the edge of the tile---wiggle til it loosens then use the prybar as a lever to remove the tile. It worked for me. Surprisingly many remained whole without chips or cracks, and I wasn't trying to save them. Just didn't want the huge mess involved in the sledgehammer method. LOL
Q: can you use marble tile for counter top
Im sorry Ever Wolf, i'm sure you're a good contractor, but you're no tile installer. Non-sanded grout is for grout joints 1/8 or smaller. sanded grout is for grout joints 1/8 or larger. The sand is for stability in larger grout joints. NEVER use sanded grout in anything smaller than 1/8 When installing marble tile, it is customary to butt the tiles against each other with no grout joint at all. The edges of the tiles are machined with a micro-bevel so there will be a slight groove between them that are to be filled with an unsanded grout. Use latex fortefied WHITE thinset mortar. Marble can be a bit translucent and the darker grey thinset can show through. There is alot more to consider such as what to do with the edges, but that is too involved to try to explain here. good luck with your project!
