I would love to replace this tile with something that has no grout needed. Other than Formica (Laminate) can anyone think of another product I can have installed without grout lines? - Q: My husband and I laid 4x4 square ceramic tiles on our counter tops. We have sealed them and everything....So the question I have is how do you get rid of the sandy resadue on the tiles from doing the grout work?
- A sponge and paper towel. You need to initially wipe the surface of the tiles with the sponge, rinsing it frequently in clean water between wipings. When most of the sand is gone you can switch to a damp paper towel to get the final haze off. BUT note that when rinsing with the sponge you need to squeeze it out until fairly dry and try to avoid wiping the grout out of the gaps since this will slowly erode the grout and put new sand on the tiles. It also helps to let the tiles dry before doing the paper wiping, so you can see the haze and know when it's gone.

- Q: Has anyone ever used the spray glaze you can use to paint ceramic tile? I have some ugly green tile on the walls in my bathroom, and I don‘t want to get into busting it out. I saw it used on HGTV, but I want to know if any REAL people have used it? If so, was it expensive? Easy to use? Did it run? - I have never seen a really successful do it your self reglazing job. It looks ok when it is first applied but will not hold up to normal use. it scratches or peels. also for tile it does not look natural because the grout gets painted as well as the tile

Just saw this post on another forum: Painting tile will work IF... * It's very clean/dry/dull, and the grout is the same. * Soooo, sand the tile with a 220-sponge, remove all dust, and inspect/repair grout. - i think you need to measure the size of your tile again .a 9 inch tile is very very uncommon I have been doing tile for many years and never have layed 9 inch tile there is 6 inch 8 inch and the most common will be your 12 inch tile you need to check
- Q: Can I install vinyl tiles in a bathroom. Will it shift over time and look bad. How does moisture affect vinyl tiles?
- It depends on the surface you put them on and the quality of the tiles. In most cases, with cheap peel and stick tiles that adhere to the surface below, they will tend to shrink, curl up at the endges and peel back after a while. It's not so much moisture as temperature changes and poor durability of the thin vinyl and poor adhesive. I'd recommend you use the Home Depot Allure line of peel and stick floating vinyl floor tile that is made by Trafficmaster. I just did a friend's bathroom with that product last weekend and was very impressed. The tiles stick to each other instead of the floor surface beneath so you can put them down over any solid surface and moisture will not effect them. They have a 25 year warranty also. At about $1.79 per square foot it is a pretty good deal and installation is a snap. We covered her entire 6' by 8' bathroom floor in less than 2 hours, including all the cuts around the toilet base and doorway. All you need to install it is a metal framing square or tee square, a sturdy pair of scissors, a measuring tape and a utility knife. Cool product. They make versions that look like tile and others that look and feel like real wood. We used the wood and it looks great. I've also used the Trafficmaster direct adhering commercial grade peel-and-stick tiles in areas that had moisture (an entryway and a powder room) with no problem but I made sure I had good birch plywood underlayment and I sealed it before laying the tile and also ran a bead of silicone caulk around the edges.
