Q: My cat runs away from the vacuum cleaner whether it is off or on. Why is that?
Some do, and some don't. Several of mine take off, and others simply watch. It most likely is a noise that is not common, and some cats have a hair trigger spook factor. The slightest change, and off they go. And if they see you moving the vacuum cleaner (even if off), they are smart enough to know where the noise comes from. For people who show cats in shows, they use a vacuum cleaner to determine if their cat will do all right being in a cat show. If the cat shows no concerns, then the hustle and bustle of a cat show will also not affect them.
Q: Since the Vacuum Cleaner was the staple household appliance for the 1950's housewife, and woman are still targeted as the wider market for vacuum sales e.g woman are used to advertise them. I am curious to know what this relationship says?It might seem to be a silly question, and perhaps my wording isnt correct, but it is something which interests me and I would appreciate honest answers.
The fact that advertising is still targeted, in the main, towards women some may say points to the fact that inequality between the sexes exists as a generalisation despite attempts to change this and that females will forever be potrayed as humble homemakers. I however, think it is because women have higher standards.
Q: If so, what are they?
YES U CAN USE HANDS
Q: My year old Bissell vacuum is starting to not work so well. It has way less suction than it used to and it makes weird sounds. Our upstairs is all hardwood linoleum so all I'm using it for my crazy 6' X 9' rug in the living room. Maybe all that cat hair is extra hard on vacuums? I don't know why I can't find one that will last. The one I had before this was a Eureka and it still had suction, but the rotating brush in the front broke out after 3 years of use. And it was used in an all carpeted house. What I love about my vacuum most is the compartment in the front that lets me easily dump out the dust instead of having to change a bag. But how to I search through the various upright vacuum cleaners to find one that isn't going to die after a year? Some of them say they are designed for many years, but how do I know what is real in those advertisements? Can any of you tell me what you use and how long it has worked for you? Thanks.
Consumer Reports is usually good reference. We bought a Sears Kenmore Blue Moon Cannister vacuum this summer when we tiled our entire house and ripped out all of the carpet. With the hard floor attachment it works very well. It also has low emissions due to the fact it uses a bag to catch the stuff and also has a HEPA filter. It is a pretty stout vacuum and all of the attachments and stuff are in a storage compartment on top of the main body. We also have an upright that you can turn the beater bar off and use on hard floors. It works ok, but if you're going to use it on hard floors it is best just to take the belt off of the damn thing because the stopper isn't an electric switch, but a mechanical gizmo that pulls the belt back so it can't make contact with the motor. When you hit furniture or a wall, it pops back into place. That feature was not very useful and would have been much better if it were an electrical switch. Just remember, more $ doesn't necessiarily mean a better vacuum.
Q: gift horse in the mouth?Especially with the new Horsepower vacuum! : P
stop teasin where is me new vacuum I need cleanin now!!!
Q: What vacuum cleaners would you recommend besides hoover. The price is not important ?
I would also go with a Dyson!! I received one for Christmas and was so excited. Since I have a cat and a dog, I have to vacuum about everyday and the Dyson is always ready to clean! My dog and husband made a horrible dirt path through the living room traveling from the garage to the kitchen and back.... well, I used the cleaning solution that came with my Dyson and that path vanished. Make sure there is some good ventilation in the room though... it doesn't seem like that are a lot of fumes but when I got up to let it do it's work for 30 minutes, my throat hurt and had a headache. So, have ventilation!!
Q: Which of the following is a physical separation method and which are chemical changes? Match classification with the process. A. physical separation B. chemical change Aboiling an egg ABair filters in vacuum cleanersABoil filters in cars ABcatalytic converters in cars
physical separation= air filters in vacuum cleaners, oil filters in cars. chemical separation= catalytic converters in cars and boiling an egg.
Q: Robot vacuum cleaners
Hello okorder /
Q: Hi I'm considering buying one as I have back problems and vacuuming is tough for me, but I'm not sure how effective they would be. If anyone has used one, please let me know, Thank you!
They work great just as long as you dont have rugs that might get stuck in it. Tile floors with quite a bit of open room is perfect. They also sell little sensors that dter the vac from certain areas that you might consider. The scheduler can be programmed to venture out at a certain time then return for charging after completion of its rounds. Great product!
Q: We are moving to a house that has tile in the kitchen and dining room and since I don't want to be just pushing the dust around with my broom anymore I wanted to know which of you use those stick type vacuum cleaners that you use on tile floors and thin carpet. Which work good but are still inexpensive ?? Either corded or cordless .
I think the Miele brooms are the best in the world. Very strong, quiet and can be used for bare floors or rugs.
