Q: I have two dogs who shed like CRAZY and I have blue carpet and their fur sticks out and my vacuum just is not picking it up. What vacuum works the best?
If you have budget, buy robot vacuum.
Q: How efficient are vacuum cleaners in preventing the dust and other dirt that they suck from escaping through the air outlet. I'm using a Khind branded wet and dry vaccum cleaner model VC 3661, priced about USD 60, manufactured in 2004. The type that is shaped like a bucket and has its air outlet facing upwards and a removable, washable cotton bag inside. I notice that it has only two layers (slices) of dark -colored Sponge like material when I remove the air outlet cover. Is that sufficient to prevent dust, dirt and most importantly bacteria from coming out form the cleaner itself. It could be releasing the bacteria and spreading it all over the place.
The filters in any vacuum cleaner get CLOGGED after approx 15 min of cleaning, use a Rainbow this has a bowl of water that catches the dust, (wet dust does not fly about!!) after every cleaning you empty the water down the toilet, the next best one will be the Dyson.
Q: Our vacuum cleaner brush roller is not working. My husband has already tried to fix it himself, but he can't find out what's wrong. We've already replaced the belts and the brush roller doesn't seem to be worn down or missing any pieces. Does anyone have any idea how much it might cost to get it fixed if I take it into a vacuum repair shop? The vacuum is only a year old and everything else works fine, the roller just isn't rolling.
This may sound silly, but it happened to me. Our vacuum brush roller stopped working, too. Turned out that the sliding switch that gave the bare floor/carpet option wasn't fully engaged. If you have a switch like that, check it. Also, if you still have the manual for it you may want to check under the troubleshooting section or look on their website. At any rate, I take my vacuum cleaners to Sears for repairs. It usually runs me $60.00 - $80.00, depending on the problem. You may want to shop around. Ask people in your area who they go to. Sears is more expensive, but they're reputable and stand behind their work. Hope this helps!
Q: Saw some kid on tv the other day that collects vacuum cleaners. Couldn't believe it. I guess there is a club for vacuum collectors. I think this is the craziest thing I've ever heard. What about you?
As unique and crazy as that sounds, I've never herd of such an activity. If you ask me it sounds rather odd, and pointless. I personally don't like vacuums though, they tend to make a lot of noise pollution and I just can't stand that. But, I guess all people have different things they find to their likings, but this is one thing I'll never understand.
Q: I'm just curious about how often people vacuum. I have gone through yet another vacuum cleaner in a little over a year. I think it is because I vacuum every day sometimes twice a day and most people I know have vacuums that last years but they only do it once a week...possibly twice a week at the most. Thanks!
Buy a better vacuum. We have an Oreck (basic model, nothing fancy) and it has lasted us about 6 years. We do have hard wood and tile though with minimal rugs - less wear on the vacuum. We also have dogs which means a lot of hair - we vacuum every other day.
Q: guys, i lost the fuse of ma vacuum cleaner,so 2 replace a new one, i need to know the fuse rating...so please tell me how much amperes is the fuse of hitachi CV-2900
My okorder good luck
Q: vacuum cleaners?
Not if you're a dust bunny. But if you were, you'd have bigger things to worry about then, wouldn't you?
Q: can commercial vacuum cleaners be used a home ?I dont know if their high speed and powerful motors can damage the carpet at my home.I am thinking of buying oreck but dont know if I buy thier commercial vacuum cleanerthey can damage my carpet.Let me know if you have any experience with those.
commercial vacuum cleaners are usually just bigger and more powerful. i have one that i got at work and i use it at home all the time
Q: I need one for home, but i dont want to spend $50. Any ideas??
the best i've found has been dirt devil.
Q: what is the fear of vacuum cleaners getting near your feet called? because idk why but every time a vcuum comes near my feet i flinch and have a mini heartattack.... anyone wanna tell me? (:
There does not appear to be a scientific term to specifically describe a fear of vacuums. Perhaps the fear stems from the loud noise the equipment makes or anxiety that you might lose something valuable while you operate it, a dropped wedding ring for example. The suction capability of most vaccuums is not enough to cause serious injury, but it may be enough to cause you to worry. Traumatophobia is the fear of injury. Ligyrophobia is the fear of loud noises.
