- First of all you need to determine where the switch that controls the box on the ceiling is. It sounds to me as though three conductor wire was used in the event that a ceiling fan might be installed at some future date. Turn off the breaker to that circuit first. Make sure it is off with a circuit tester. Remove the plate from the switch location and unscrew and pull out the switch. There will be a pair of wires ( white black and bare ground ) coming in to the box. This is where power is coming from. There will also be a trio of wires ( black, red and white plus bare ground. Which ever wire from the trio is attached to the switch will determine which hot wire to connect to in the ceiling box. You will attach that to the black wire from the fixture, the white to white and the green to bare ground. If there are two switches in the same box on the wall, choose the one closest to the door, determine wire color, cap the other color wire in the ceiling box with a wire nut and some electrical tape around it. Push it up in to the box first before any of the other wires. Then make the other connections, attach the pendant base to the ceiling box and you're done.

- intreped said it well but i want to know how did you run the wire through the wall switch . hopefully you ran it direct with the switch breaking the hot wire . so you will have one black and one white wire . before you hook it up use a lamp to make sure you have the right wires . and you don't have to worry about polarity the fan has forward and reverse and the light buld dos not care.

- What kind of speaker connectors do you use? If the speakers can be disconnected from the source, I recommend getting extension adapters and long speaker wire so they will reach behind you (for example, if you have mini 3.5mm stereo jacks, get headphone extension cables and use those, and if you have RCA connectors, get RCA to RCA adapters and get long RCA cables). This way you don't need to cut any wires. But you can cut the wires and extend them with any type of speaker wire and use black electrical tape to seal them up. Make sure the positive and negative wires don't touch or you won't get any sound. I suggest wrapping up one set of wires with tape before taping up the other set (tape the positive wires up first and then tape up both sets of wires).

- find the positive fuse by using a test light on the fuses, when the ignition is on the light your using will light up when the ignitions off it should not light up on the test light, once thats done connect a wire from the back of that fuse behind the fuse box to the terminal run the wire to the stereo wire you need to connect to, twist the wires together use decent electrical tape aroung the join to make sure the bare join does not touch anything else on the car. hope this helps.

- yes, i would change spark plugs and wires. the spark plugs will fire better an make you get better fuel milage, and same with the wires. the wires after so much age depending on how close the wires are can have small arcs go between the wires and cause miss firing/pre ignition making it harder on the engine.
