- different brand speakers have different size backs. you need to take the cover off your door. take out your current speaker and take it to a shop. if the new speaker is as thick as your current one , it will fit. if not, its going to collide with your window. as for screws not matching. a drill fixes it all , or washers :).

- Well, I've never heard of 6 ohm speakers, so I'll stick to the traditional speakers of 16ohm, 8ohm, and 4 ohm. Ohm is the the speaker's resistance to power. The lower the ohm, the more power it will let through. This isn't exact, but a rule of thumb is half the ohms double the power. That has more to do with the amp. The speaker doesn't change what ohms it is. The amp will change it's output to match the ohms. So in real terms, an amp that runs 50 watts at 8 ohms will be 100 watts at 4 ohms. Some amps are specifically made to run at a certain ohm rating, so watch out for that. Try to replace the speakers with as close to the original ones as possible.

- If the tweeters are the ones that came with the car from dealer then you will benefit from replacing them with aftermarket ones. You could buy a component set which will be tweeters and midrange speakers. Some midrange speakers are 2way, some are not. If you plan on amplifying these speakers then buy component set with crossover. Plus nowadays 2 way and even 3 way speakers can sound really good. I prefer component with tweeters and midrange speakers. No 2 way for me.

- If your computer speakers have a regular input like any headphones do, you're fine. I use computer speakers as my iPod speakers, and my iPod works fine. I only have the iPod Classic, but friends have used their Touches with my speakers, and nothing went wrong at all. If your speakers are the regular kind with the same input as headphones, then you're fine.

- get a multimeter. check the speakers, check the wires, check the head unit, try the fade adjustment? fade to rear will set only the rear speakers to on. if thats the problem tell all your friends it was a wire problem ;-) if your car has a built in amplifier which i'm assuming it does because with 6 speakers that would be considered 'premium sound' check that in my 96 mercury grand marquis i had to yank out the factory amp because it interfered with my stereo and wouldn't allow signal to pass through it take your time and remember it will work in the end as long as you're patient

- Sony speakers don't require custom wire. Some speakers use proprietary connectors to actually attach the speaker wire to the speaker but most do not. Even if your Sony speakers did you could get them from the Sony store. As to wire, any speaker wire will do (Home Depot, radio Shack, etc).
