- Q:I had a party this weekend and suddenly the bass from speakers went off and the treble went to extremly low. (Note, this is not car speakers/amp)I tried replug the speakers by twisting up wires again and insert em, i managed get some bass from the speakers after that but lasted like 1 min.May i broken the speakers or the sound amplifier? - Based on your external speakers sounding OK, your sound card is OK. You probably have a loose wire or connector in your internal speaker wiring. It's unlikely that both speakers would fail at the same time. But if you only have one internal speaker (common on old laptops), the one speaker could have failed and your sound would be fuzzy and quiet. Several laptops, including Dell 700M units, run speaker wires thru the LCD hinge area causing them to flex and eventuall break. You'll need to remove the upper case plastics and keyboard and look at the wiring and speakers to see what needs repair.

- If you hear vibrating, then the speakers aren't screwed down very tight, and all you would need to do is screw them down tighter. if you hear more of a popping sound, then the speakers are blown and need to be replaced. If you replace your speakers, then look for speakers that fit, and try to find get ones with the highest sensitivity rating.

- Do you mean more than 2 speakers in the speaker cabinet, or do you mean multiple cabinets? Assuming you mean cabinets, I think they're up to 8. This is for surround sound, usually for video. The speakers are located front left, middle, and right, side left and right, and rear left and right. The eighth speaker is a sub-woofer for the low frequencies which are mostly non-directional. Choose one: excellent sound, low price. I've seen 6 speaker systems for $100 and I've seen 2 speakers for thousands. Guess which sounds better.

- Yea, I have to agree with Mia about the speakers, the only instance I can think of where they use extra signal wire (other than red and black or black and white depending on the brand) would be for a system where the speakers and amp have to work together (like small stereo systems where the wire is attached to the speaker) or if the speakers are bi-amplified or bi-wired, for example, one set of wires is for the tweeter or high end and the other is for woofer or low end. I would be careful or try other speakers that only use red/black combinations. There are different ways of wiring speakers but at this point just getting it set up right should get you where you want to go.

- NO you cannot listen to music from the mobo speakers. Just buy a set of speakers for $15 and call it good. The old games also have the OLDER motherboards that support multi beep tones. Now a days the mobos only come with single tone and single sound beeps.

They dont have any specific color on them either, I tried hooking it up to the RCA ports on the back of my HDTV but nothing happened. What do I hook this damn thing up to to make them work?
- They need to be connected to speaker outputs. If your HDTV has speaker level outputs designed to connect to speakers, then you can connect them directly. Chances are it doesn't though, (the TV probably has only line level outputs designed to connect to other electronics, not speakers) so you'll need a stereo or surround sound receiver to power the speakers.
