- It's possible for speakers to mess up a monitor, particularly regular speakers near an older CRT (tube) monitor. LCD is generally fine with speakers. Home theater and computer speakers are generally shielded and won't cause a problem even with CRT. If they're already close and you're not noticing any weird color issues, you're probably fine. If you're noticing color issues, it's probably already too late.

- Well the obvious thing is to follow the instructions in the manual and hook up the 4 built in speakers. (How can you have built-in speakers and not hook them up?) Generally people buy an AV Receiver from companies like Yamaha, Denon, Onkyo and a 5.1 speaker set from a company that only makes speakers. Then you feed the video to the TV and the audio to the AV Receiver. As you pointed out - now the volume is NOT controlled by the TV. But I suggest you hook up BOTH the TV speakers and the 5.1 sound system. Use the TV speakers for casual TV watching. Fire up the AV Receiver for serious HD movie or DVD watching.

- get a multimeter. check the speakers, check the wires, check the head unit, try the fade adjustment? fade to rear will set only the rear speakers to on. if thats the problem tell all your friends it was a wire problem ;-) if your car has a built in amplifier which i'm assuming it does because with 6 speakers that would be considered 'premium sound' check that in my 96 mercury grand marquis i had to yank out the factory amp because it interfered with my stereo and wouldn't allow signal to pass through it take your time and remember it will work in the end as long as you're patient

- You simply need to go into your receivers menu and under speaker settings adjust the levels for all speakers. It will play a test tone and you want to adjust the level of all speakers so they are the same at the listening position. Leave the main left and right main speakers at the middle of the output level and adjust the rears to match the mains. Same goes for the center channel speaker if you have one. - Q: I have a 2001 Chevy Camaro V6 with stock 6 speakers. All of them don't work except for the front left driver speaker. The hatch speakers are completely out and the sail speakers have a really really low volume. I tried replacing the stock sail speakers with new Pioneer speakers but they're still just playing at a really low volume with like no treble. Any ideas? Could it be a wiring problem?
