Description of excavator:

Excavators are heavy construction equipment consisting of a boom, stick, bucket and cab on a rotating platform known as the "house". The house sits atop an undercarriage with tracks or wheels. A cable-operated excavator uses winches and steel ropes to accomplish the movements. They are a natural progression from the steam shovels and often called power shovels. All movement and functions of a hydraulic excavator are accomplished through the use of hydraulic fluid, with hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motors. Due to the linear actuation of hydraulic cylinders, their mode of operation is fundamentally different from cable-operated excavators.

Modern, hydraulic excavators come in a wide variety of sizes. The smaller ones are called mini or compact excavators. For example, Caterpillar's smallest mini-excavator weighs 2,060 pounds (930 kg) and has 13 hp; their largest model is the largest excavator available (a record previously held by the Orenstein & Koppel RH400) the CAT 6090, it weighs in excess of 2,160,510 pounds (979,990 kg), has 4500 hp and has a bucket size of around 52.0 m³ depending on bucket fitted.

The two main sections of an excavator are the undercarriage and the house. The undercarriage includes the blade (if fitted), tracks, track frame, and final drives, which have a hydraulic motor and gearing providing the drive to the individual tracks, and the house includes the operator cab, counterweight, engine, fuel and hydraulic oil tanks. The house attaches to the undercarriage by way of a center pin. High pressure oil is supplied to the tracks' hydraulic motors through a hydraulic swivel at the axis of the pin, allowing the machine to slew 360° unhindered.

FAQ of excavator:

Q: What are the main functions of excavators?

A: Excavator is the machine that can excavate the the soil of various types forcefully and then using hydraulic system a hydraulic force is generated and utilizing this force bucket is exchange with some other attachments then excavator can be used for multi-purpose. For exemple pile diver, hydraulic jack hammer etc...

Q: What are the main type of excavators?

A: Crawler excavator; Wheel excavator;

Q: What is the application of excavators?

A: The excavator has increased the work speed tremendously. It is used extensively in numerous fields, including the following:

•Wood removal in forests

•Normal grading work and landscaping

•Cutting of brushes with attachments

•Demolition of structures, and removal of debris

Q: I'm really interested in joining the U.S Navy, hopefully to be a Construction Mechanic (CM). Will i be able to get my ASE after my A-School? Or do i get it after my duty? And also what civilian jobs may i be able to relatively transfer to really smoothly? And also after the Seabees, im planning to attend U.T.I (Universal Technical Institute) to further pursue my career as a Master technician. Is it worth it? Or not? Any suggestions? Detailed reasonable answers are appreciated :)
As a CM you'll be working on everything from excavators and scrappers to semi tractors to M-wraps to bucket trucks to those little Honda water pumps. I don't think the Navy gets into certifying you for ACE as a matter of business, but you have your Chiefs of Alpha CO and the education PO of your battalion to ask and get help getting them. As far as transferring into civilian life, everyone is looking for good mechanics and hydraulic guys. If you get a chance to kind of specialize in something, look at what companies are screaming for and try to go to C-school for that. I don't know anything about UTI, so I won't go there. Be advised that Seabees require a higher ASVAB and line scores than a lot of rates and it's a five year commitment. Also they just decommissioned four Battalions due to 0bamas fake budget cuts, so it's going to be tight getting in.
Q: Have a Bobcat Excavator Mod 442 and cannot locate the battery on it, no service manual can't find jack on the web.
I am guessing you opened all the access doors. Find the red main lead from the starter and follow it could be under the seat or under a panel in the floor.

Q: NEW ORLEANS - Thieves hauled off $100,000 worth of heavy equipment that was being used to help build a Lower Ninth Ward memorial to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. A Bobcat excavator and a Bobcat T300 Skid Steer Loader, both of which require trailers or flatbed trucks to transport, were removed from the site sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Saturday, construction company officials said.In the neighborhood that remains nearly pitch black at night almost a year after the levees failed, the equipment didn't last three days at the site. Can you really blame them???? Almost a year and no fucin homes put up and some assholes are tryin to build a memorial for the dead people (no disrespect) and sayin fuc the ones that are alive, I would have stole the equipment too. Why the hell are they even building a memorial in a town where anyone that its quot;SUPPOSEDquot; to be for isnt even there to see it because they are out of a home and jobs, what the fucs the purpose????
It was probably the same ones shown on tv who were hauling off everythng they could get their hands on. Really, in a city with no eelectricity, no running water, no food why do you need to steal 20 boxes of Nike shoes? I saw that on nattional tv last year. I would have been stealing food. But I wouldn't have been stupid enough no to evacuate when a category 4 was heading my way.
Q: oil filter - fuel filter - hydraulic filter - air cleanerFree DownloadPdf or xls filesExcavatorDozerReach Stackeretc.
Call your local NAPA store. They LOVE to come out and organize your filters for you. Especially when they think they're going to be supplying said filters. They do it for free and they give you a cross reference book, too.
Q: I am starting a small business underground conduit TRENCH DIGGING, I need to know what i need to do, Do i need workmans Comp, yes i mint do commercial work, Do i need a TAX ID Number, What els do i need to know I have a excavator and i have a truck
You will defiantly need some general liability coverage and you can work under your social if you are going to work as a sole-proprietorship, come up with a name for your business and then get a business license, insurance and some business cards. you want a business bank account too. If you are going to need a small business loan anytime soon, you may want to look into writing a business plan. The local small business administrate office can help you write a plan and their services are free. You can find some other information at. good luck www.simple-small-business-ideas.c...
Q: and lifting motions of the shovel why do you think the giant machines are designed with pulleys for these functions instead of hydraulics
hydraulic rams are limited to the distance they can travel.. large cranes you see with cables are moving objects hundreds of feet where a hydraulic ram can not. hydraulic systems are much more dependable and can create a great deal of force in a small set up this is why you see them on most of your smaller construction machines.
Q: Heavy machine soldier 3 crab excavator, where I can't get on
I've been looking for that place for a long time... It's very weirdFirst of all. In 1 wandering into the factory on the ground is 3 rooms, it is the factory, the roof is excavator, don't go into the factory... Now go outside, there is a place that can trigger automatic plot, look up, sway the crab excavator swagger before others go directly to... I, this story no trigger...
Q: I havn't quite gotten into the area of hydraulics yet, so I am hoping this question might generate some answers to a few questions I have.A design I have been helping review calls for the use of hydraulics to manipulate a blade and an arm for a small excavator. You guessed it, on the moon. Airless environment and a lot of nasty dust. the little talk I found on the subject of using hydraulics in space is 1 mention by the designers of the shuttle arm, but didn't go into detail. I am wondering if linear actuators would be better for the design over all due to the less complex nature.
Hydraulic systems are pretty well sealed and have the advantage of being able to be designed to move and manipulate very heavy loads. the space shuttle is loaded with quite a few hydraulic systems.
Q: I would like to demolish a small house and garage on my property and want to rent a excavator for the day. Is this something I could do myself? I live in Ma.
I think you need a permit from your city to demolish, ask your city.
