- Q: I want to get a scaffold (industrial) piercing in my upper cartlidge, and really, really, REALLY small gauges in my lower ear (the flab) - I actually want plugs, but that's besides the point. I have ears that connect to my head, and don't hang down if that matters. I also had two piercings on both of my ears where I want my plugs, but they've both closed up if that could interfere with anything. - Scaffolds are those things that look like square boxes put together on the sides of buildings/ houses that are under construction. They are used so workers can reach otherwise too high places with out ladders. Very stable. Click links for pictures.
- Q: Please Help!!I had my scaffolding pierced 3 days ago! And it bled alot during it being pierced so much I passed out! It was all good and then today it like really sore, red and swollen around the bottom hole ! I have used sergical spirit, vasaline and salt water solution on it but like it's very hard ! :(
- That's weird. If you can't move it, other than when you're cleaning it, then maybe you should go to your piercer. I've had mine done for about 3 months, and nothing like that ever happened to me. If you can..take out your industrial bar and but put in 2 stainless steel or glass cartilage hoops or studs and see how that works. Sometimes, people that have really thick cartilage and get a piercing, the cartilage will just try to overgrow the hole that was made. It could just be a minor infection, and you may have to take it out, but it'd be better than anything else happening to your ear. Hope I helped and good luck!

I got my scaffold in june/july and it hurt a lot, hurt even more in the healing process, now I'm pretty sure I have a keloid on it, but it doesn't really hurt anymore and is still healing. But I would like my tragus pierced on my other ear so just wondered how much it would hurt in comparison to a scaffold, piercing and healing process? Its thicker so I'm expecting it would hurt more...

- Depends where you're getting it done. Some places it could be like $30 - $60 and at other places it could be $60 - $100. Call some shops and ask them. Where I live, at one piercing shop they do piercings for $50 and at another one they do them for like $80

- Take advil it helps the with the swelling and the pain. I found that doing warm sea salt water soaks helped a bit. To me the warm water soothed it.
