Q: Is there any recorded data on risk hazard on aluminum and steel type of scaffoldings?: Aluminum scaffolds are lighter and often easier to construct. Steel scaffolds are stronger, but heavier and more cumbersome. As long as it is scaffold industry approved product both should have the same risk factor, assuming they are both put together properly.

Q: I got my scaffold piercing 2 months ago and its always crusting and and is still sore to touch., is that normal??..Also my hair is caught around one of the balls on the bar and I can't get it out :/ and tips?: I have these problems all the time! They're normal, no worries, because cartilage takes forever to heal! I have been pierced upwards of 11 times so this isn't a new thing to me. Don't touch it! My biggest problems with anything coming out of my piercings after the first month are from touching them! Also unless the piercing is really red and puffy, the stuff coming out is probably sebum. Your body is just healing. Try not to sleep on that side if you can help it. Putting a washcloth with really hot water on it onto that piercing over and over really helped me if it was indeed an infection. Is is also itchy? That's a good indication of infection if it's also red and puffy and oozing anything. Use NON antibacterial soap that is unscented like dove to clean it. Please do your piercing a favor and don't use anything like hydrogen peroxide or anything they give you to clean it at places like Claire's. Been there done that, have scarring. As for your hair, try to have someone else with squeaky clean hands try to get your hair untangled...I hate it when that happens >_< As to using sea salt, it does help SOME. For me, it just irritated my piercings and delayed healing time. If you are still worried about infection because of itching, puffiness, redness, swelling, and consistant pus, see your piercer. If you didn't get it done at a tattoo/piercing shop, I'd recommend going there and getting it checked out if you are concerned. PS THANK YOU for calling it a scaffold piercing! I know piercers who didn't even know it was called that! ^_^

Many Asian countries erect exterior scaffolds of bamboo. European and western hemisphere countries do it with pipe and board.

Q: okay i posted a question about my piercing a few weeks ago but this is a different story.the top piercing of the scaffold is very saw the only time i can move the piercing up and down is when im cleaning it when its dry theres no moving it?what is this, and is this normal?the top ear looks very saw, it is still very red around the top.iv had to done almost a month!anyideas?what are the signs of infections thanks!i dont wanna lose my piercing!: Its only been a month since it was pierced this is completely normal. Cartilage piercings can take up to a year and sometimes more to heal. Sounds to be like the piercing is just irritated. Have you been playing with it a lot? If so stop. Do not touch it unless you are cleaning it. Its a pretty fresh piercing and the more you play with it the more sore and irritated it will get. It could also lead to an infection. Just relax and continue to clean 2-3 times a day using a mild soap and water or using sea sale soaks. Don't use any alcohol, peroxide or polyspron.

Most scaffolds are used until they are no longer good--something elemental to their safe operation has broken or failed. Q: Hi there,I got a scaffold piercing done on Sunday and it's become infected (according to my doctor). I've been cleaning it, etc but I caught rather a bad cold which affected it quite badly. It's amazingly sore, swollen and getting worse day by day. My doctor told me to take it out now but also gave me some antibiotics because I said I'd rather not remove it. She said something about the swelling affecting my circulation and that I could always have it done again when I was feeling better. What should I do? Ear cages and Industrial piercings can take between 6-12 months to fully heal. It's only been a couple of days! If you take it out, chances are, it's going to close up. My advice would be to get some plastic retainers to put in the individual piercings until you can wear the scaffold all the time. Talk with your piercer if you have questions!
