Q: Hi,I have a set of Sony speakers that are a few years old. They have no power cable (nowhere to plug a cable in either) and the aux cable has no jacks. It is just two split wires. How can I connect them to my TV?Thanks,Aaron
Very few TVs have connections for external speakers. The wire attached to each of your speakers is a speaker wire, not an aux cable. Your TV would need to have a line-level audio output (RCA jacks) or at least a headphone jack, which would be connected to a line-level input on a stereo or surround-sound receiver, and then that would drive the speakers. Speakers that have wires permanently attached (coming out through a hole), rather than having terminals to which wires are to be connected, are universally inferior. Still, considering the poor sound quality of many modern TVs, even the crummiest of box speakers might be an improvement.
Q: Hey guysWhen I put in my power cable, I can turn on my laptop, but as soon as I take it off, it shuts off. Why isn't it charging it ?Thanks alot in advance
Your laptop hates you
Q: I have a slim PS2 and a PS1. Recently, my PS1 power cable had spoiled, and I don't know if the power supplied by the Slim PS2 cable is the same.. I know the video cable is compatible but I don't know if the power cable is compatible too.P.S. Don't give a stupid answer like quot;You can play PS1 games on PS2or quot;Use a PS3 cablequot;
Nope, I tried the other day myself actually and it doesn't. It's a shame really because I loved the PS1 and I wanted to have a go :(
Q: I'm gonna be running a 2,700watts RMS system on a Power Acoustik 4,500watt Class D Monoblock amp at 1-ohm. I have a 2005 Impala LS do I'm going to need a secondary battery. What size should it be? Also what size power wire and ground wire should I use? I'm going to be using 8gauge speaker wire. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
You can try the dealer for the exact cables for your vehicle, if they are not obsolete and are still available, no modifications required. But if shopping for aftermarket cables, longer may be better. You can always tie the extra cable up out of the way. If you start with a cable that is too short, you can't make it any longer. You want to make sure that the cables are not touching any hot engine parts, or crossing any sensitive wiring harnesses where electromagnetic fields could screw with electronic components. It may be better to let the local repair shop replace them for you.
Q: Hi. I have a Marina Power Filter (Slimline S15) and the power cable that is connected to it appears to need to be submerged in the water. That doesn't seem safe at all but the instructions (although poorly written) seem to point to that being the case,Advice please.
yes, it's completely submersible and safe for the filter and part of the cord to be in the aquarium.... note: as another poster has pointed out, that's a crappy filter. If you ever get a real aquarium, buy better equipment.
Q: I have this printer, bought for $100 at Best Buy a few years ago... I moved almost 2 years ago, and seemingly have lost one or more of the cords associated with this printer. Im trying to find out which one is missing. I have the one which connects the printer to the computer [USB]. But I dont have the one that gives it power... It looks like the end would fit into a 3 hole [prong?] opening, the holes are all in line... Anyone got an ideas? Know what Im talking about? If so, any idea what its called, or where I can find one? Im sure online, but I havent any idea what Im looking for at this point.
why don't you e-mail HP see if they will send you a power cord or advise you where to get one in your area
Q: The cylinder is in the power cable about 2 inches from the connection to the laptop and is about one half inch diameter by one inch long. Does it serve an electronic function or is it just a mechanical assist device?
It's called a choke. It's used to filter out unwanted radio interference.
Q: what the size of power cable 3 core for motor 18.5 Kw with star dalta starter?
It is entirely dependent on the voltage supplied to the motor. At 230 V (wye connection to motor), rated current is 80 A. At 460 V (wye), rated current is 40 A. At 600 V (wye), rated current is 31 A. Different cable sizes required for each rating (for minimum cross-section) ... however, cable sized for 80 A will certainly do the job for the higher voltage ratings, assuming it is insulated for the appropriate voltage.
Q: remove just this cable or use different hd and it works fine, is the hd broken or is it a power consumption by the hd issue? tryed a different psu and its the same problem, unfortunately not got another pc handy to check the hd on. Thanks In advance?
change the hdd interface bus u may get solution otherwise replace it. .in
Q: I currently have a 250 watt 2 channel power cord and a 500 watt alpine amp with 2 12 inch mtx terminator subs.i am continuously blowing blade fuses and i ended up buying a 680 watt power cable. Will this blow out my amp or do any damage or will it be all good and give the maximum power my amp can supply? (Without exploding) just wondering thanks!
250 watt power cord? Where are the fuses which are being blown? Maybe you put in the wrong fuses or the wrong amperage fuse.
