- You could plug your keyboard into it and you would hear your keyboard, but it would be far from ideal. Guitar amps like the Roland Cube 40XL are made to deal with and accentuate the frequency response of a guitar, whereas keyboards use the full audio spectrum. Using a guitar amp has two drawbacks: 1) the amp will change the sound of your keyboard significantly. 2) the amp may not deal well with certain low frequency sounds coming from your keyboard. Depending on your keyboard patch, that could damage the loudspeaker. Also, your keyboard will not be in stereo. In a pinch, you might be able to get away with it for practice. But don't perform with it. It will sound terrible.

The fact that you took the computer apart and tried to fix it yourself voided whatever warranty was on it. Next time take it to wherever it was purchased and have them fix it. - Hi Stepas, if you have a wired keyboard. It needs to be connected to the PS2 [ lavender ] or USB connector on the back of your computer. Likewise, if the keyboard is wireless you need to connect the USB antenna to a USB bus. Front or back of computer case. if this does not solve your dilemma. - If you have a usb port on your laptop you can plug a keyboard in there. You can find a usb keyboard at most stores that sell keyboards mice. They are pretty common these days. Also depending on the age of the laptop you might be able to get a replacement keypad for it.

Since the PC Keyboard's keys (at least 32 keys) are not aligned respectively, can I possibly use metal strips to adjust certain points on the keyboard's switch pad to align at least 32 keys horizontally?
- It would work as long as you would not attempt to pierce the pcb inside the keyboard (assuming that you have one, of course). Yet tt would be a lot more effective, ergonomic, reliable and aesthetical, if you would just make a custom enclosure for your home made MIDI keyboard. Go for wood, or organic glass, whichever fits you best. After all, if you are able to make piano keys, i think that making a box of some-kind of material and fixing the pcb on it + keys would not be too hard. A tad of planning, half-a day of work and tu-dum!

- I recommend a keyboard with full-size, piano-weighted keys. That way as you learn, you'll also get a feel for the piano. It may be a little more expensive, but you won't grow out of it. The Casio PX130 Privia is a good example of this. Whatever keyboard you get, just make sure it has MIDI OUT so that you can connect it to a computer when you get more advanced. That way you can use the keyboard as a MIDI controller--controlling the sound patches and sequencing software in your computer. Then the sound possibilities are endless. Because of this, the built-in sounds and recording abilities of the keyboard by itself aren't really that important.
